Prince Rama Varma - Chembai, Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna, T.V.Gopalakrishnan, Mysore Vasudevacharya!

Prince Rama Varma, with Sri S.R.Vinu,
Nanjil Sri Arul and Sri Rajesh, gave a brilliant and unforgettable concert at the Chembai Memorial Hall in Thiruvananthapuram in August 2024.
It was one of those concerts that would linger in the hearts of the listeners for a long long time.
In this video, Varma ji shares a few heart warming and amusing anecdotes related to luminaries like Chembai Vaidhyanatha Bhagavathar, Dr.Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan, Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer and Mysore Vasudevacharya in Malayalam, followed by a brilliant exposition of the Raga Sunadavinodini, followed by the song Devadi Deva which was popularized by Dr.Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, around 70 years ago.
Apart from the affectionate tributes that Varma ji pays to these legends from the heart, it is interesting and beautiful to observe how Varma ji embodies so many of the very qualities which he appreciates in others, himself!
The story telling part is in Malayalam.
But with the simple and clear way in which Varma ji expresses himself, be it musically or verbally, it is easy to understand him if we listen with all our heart.
