My project explores the deep emotions tied to the sadness and loss felt when someone we love is nearing the end of their life. It's inspired by my grandfather and aims to capture feelings of being alone, the heaviness of knowing someone will pass away, and how fleeting life is. Through my art, I want to show how painful it is for those left behind when a loved one dies, but also offer comfort and healing.
In my artwork, I pay tribute to my grandfather by expressing my love for him. Every detail is meant to show how much I miss him and how sad I am that he's gone, hoping others will understand and feel the same way. Despite the sadness, there's also a message of hope, reminding us that memories can bring us peace and help us keep going.
By mixing sadness and hope, my art makes people think deeply about life, death, saying goodbye, and remembering those we've lost. It encourages people to appreciate their loved ones more and understand the importance of cherishing the time we have together.
바람이 불면 언제나 바람을 방패해주는 인생 날의 동반자여.
My lifelong companion, who shelters during windy days.
가지말라고 가지말라고 소리쳐 불러봐도 말없이 떠나버린다.
Slipping away, despite my countless pleas, leaving me in silent sorrow.
마른 나무가지에서 떨어지는 잎파리와 같이 허무하게 지는구나 말도 없이 지는구나.
Silently descending, like autumn leaves from barren boughs,
눈물을 글썽이며 허공만 바라본다.
My vision, slowly blurring, as tears well up.
인생 날의 숙명인가. 운명의 장난인가.
Is this fate's cruel twist, or just life's bitter game?
서쪽하늘 문틈새로 스며 드는 바람 서리.
The wind, a mournful visitor through the western sky's seams,
슬픈 음악처럼 울려놓고 떠나느냐.
Why do you depart with such sorrow of symphony
흘러가는 강물처럼 흘러가는 바람처럼.
Flowing like rivers, like the wind's eternal stream.
서산 마루 지는 해는 어김없이 넘어가고.
The sun sets resolutely beyond the distant horizon,
무화과 나뭇가지 동쪽으로 뻗어가고
As fig tree branches reach out towards an unreachable dawn.

긴 세월 하루같이 하늘만 쳐다보고
Through endless moments, my gaze lingers upon the fading light,
먼산 노을 두둥실 흘러가는 구름과 같이
Like drifting clouds, torn asunder by the weight of longing.
무명초라 했나요 떨어지는 잎세마다
Falling memories farewell of each falling leaf
