Grant Abbitt is the Bob Ross of Blender. His voice is relaxing and you learn useful skills. I was today years old when someone told me about loop tools. TY for this tutorial.
For anyone having issues with the GStretch tool, try clicking the little side arrow next to gstretch, then where it says Use Guides: None, click that drop down box and click annotation, redo the process of Gstretch and it should work perfectly ^^ hope i helped
I've just discovered that what i *thought* I wanted was the Space Tool. But actually what I needed was the *_Relax_* tool. I would have NEVER found this if I hadn't seen this video. Holy crap dude, THANK YOU!
I was a bit of a skeptic regarding add-ons in general, but there is some amazing ones out there this one included. Thank you Grant for sharing the knowledge.
Reading few comments in your video tutorials, I am already feeling proud that I learned about different tools, even before I made or think about my first project.
Wow! That was great! Thanks for the very well yet concisely, explained aspects of that add on. I'll be using right now for a project I wasn't having much luck with previously.
I will now be able to model some "sticky outy bits" for my next project! ;-) All serioiusness aside, thank you, Grant, for this good rundown of the loop tools!
merci pour ce tuto très intéressant et très bien expliqué. je ne comprends beaucoup l'anglais mais j'ai bien compris votre langage simple et votre vois claire . tous vos tutos sont interessants.
@@grabbitt great , un peu :) im french if you need help to learn some words or other , cause your tuto help me a lot , i learn blender and im a beginner
Thanks for sharing, great as always. The Space command is one of the main commands in my workflow for remeshing text and curve objects. I first limit desolve the vertices and then space them. If you are interested in this, I show this workflow in my video "Numbers/Text in Blender for DAZ - EP3: Manually remesh Part 1" at about minute 21 : 30
Wow, I also like this tool and talk about this in my channel. But I talk mostly on circle and bridge to create a hole in an object. If you want, you might want to check about how I dealt with loop tools using circle and bridge.
Funny that I only wanted the one tool you didn't find very useful. The relax. Helped me greatly when evening the distance of corner vertices created by the Remesh modifier
Hey Grant.. love your videos....learning so much... Im like a giant sponge atm! Is there any chance you could do a quick video on maybe setting up Blender the best way from the get go, preferences we should have ticked, (free) add ons to get or activate that will speed up our workflow... I know how to do this for Adobe stuff (being a graphic designer), but finding a concise video on this on Blender is hard... there's bits of info all over the place..... many thanks :)
@@grabbitt Thanks! :) I also have one other 'cheeky' request...it's about scale/size when creating models/environments...i.e how big should I make my models, real world size or is it different for each project? Its the one subject I can't find any great info on :( ... Im going try your Berk character series next.. once again.. thanks for all the great videos!
Thanks so much for such a clear intro to a very useful addon. I'm finding the g-stretch is not working on 2.82, as the vertices all align in a straight line at the point closest to the greasepencil line and will go no further. Is it just me, or is this a 2.82 thing?
Grant Abbitt is the Bob Ross of Blender. His voice is relaxing and you learn useful skills. I was today years old when someone told me about loop tools. TY for this tutorial.
Best part is when you said "I pressed 1 to go into vertex mode". I never knew about the 1, 2 and 3 keys. This will save me so much time, thanks!

Much appreciated
Thank you! Let your tea be always warm and may you never run out of happy thoughts.

Another one you should check out is Bool Tool
@@bobdole27 got it and it's grand, much faster Boolean operations.
Not only was this informative but your voice is very clear and relaxing. Really great
Thanks :)

nice :)
thanks i was struggling to find loop tool and after hundreds of videos i found your one, Thanks again
The amount of times I've done the loop cuts and modifiers that this does manually and all along it was an addon. The more you know :D
So many useful features in one tool! I wish I found out about this earlier. Thanks Grant!
This is really helpful with wobbly lines, points clamping together and simple geometry cut section. Thanks for showing each step taken with the tool.
Как же я балдею от твоего голоса, будто британское телевидение смотрю!
Спасибо за отличный туториал, этот модификатор буду использовать частенько!
Thanks :)
Thank you Grant for you series of tutorials! They are very good and helping people changing from 2.79 to 2.8!
Thanks :)
This is fantastic, I'm surprised this isn't the new default for 3.0.
You are the natural born teacher, man.!!!!!
Thanks :)
Relax is a must have for when you use shrinkwrap on an object and you want to straighten the edge flow.
there are a fair few uses
@@grabbitt Yep that's one that came to my mind since i use it extensively in my work last week.
Your voice is so good & gentle 🥰
Short and to the point, thank you for the video. I wish I knew about this sooner but you've convinced me to enable it.
thanks :)
That circle tool's been a lifesaver!
indeed
Shift+Alt+S does the same I learned.
Great tips Grant! Loved it
OMG!! This is so useful addon!! Thanks for explaining how it's wroking!
Exploring features of Blender with your videos is great learning experience. Blender is rich with features and not easily appreciated

I didn't know this tool was in Blender. This is going to be awesome.

Grand job Grant-- most helpful!

There are different variations of Looptool-bridge. There's one under Edge, that offers more functionality

This has to be the best free Add-on ! 👍🏼😁
Had trouble finding loop tools in add-on. found out had to go to get extensions and install it first.
Anyone else having a problem at 4:23 ?
The curve won’t stretch towards the annotate , it only becomes a straight line 😅

Your favourite tool in Blender? Well... now it's mine too!
I could have used this add-on way back in Blender 2.6!
:)
Is the Gstretch still working for you with the Grease pencil?
Using 2.82a and it doesnt work ;(
not tried it recently
Yeah mine doesn't either ;(
Really great

When you use circle looptool on a scaled mesh its messing up, how to fix it?
Try applying the scale to the mesh in Object mode before using the loop tool in Edit mode.
apply the scale ctrl a
Thx, you all
Relax can be used to help make unwrapping much less painful. (Assuming unwrapping is painful for everyone, lol)
interesting so this works in the uv editor as well ?
@@grabbitt Yep, that is correct.
somehow I cant find the loop tools after installing it....right click dosent work either
is 2.8 worth using in it's current state? i've considered it, but people say it's really unstable. thoughts?
I have been using it pretty much everyday and it's not crashed on me for a long time
I've been using it since the alpha came out. It wasn't very stable, but that was over a year ago. Right now it's veeeery stable.
I've switched entirely to it and overall it's really solid now (compared to a few months ago)
No it's not it's working badass.
thank you so much
Great!
Nice work! - Can you do me a big favor? Where did you get the colored properties sidebar? =)
That's the newest version of 2.8
Thank you!!
Thanks :)
Theoretically, the relax will smooth the vertices in the UV space of the shape... Don't know why it does not work with many vertices.
Yes that's what I was assuming.
amazing..........thank you
Thanks :)
