Cute as it is, they don't live long and have big problems with constipation due to their short legs and inability to position their body well to have a proper bowel movement. It is cruel to breed these cats.

Over friendly, over ambitious, with a huge zest for life... he never did anything halfway and was the most gorgeous cat ever, a long haired grey and white Persian who's long white chest hair used to drag on the ground. he was so proud of me the day he taught me how to play fetch..... he did not slow down until he was past 17
Just because the Cat Breed is in pain does not inherently mean adopting one is immoral, these cats deserve just as much love as any other cat. And even then breeding them with non munchkin cats could potentially be a good thing, allowing their offspring to not have the same deformity
I completely understand your reasoning- but if people stopped buying them then the greedy marketers that don’t care about their feelings would stop selling them since their value went down. If more and more people in your area that bought or supported the funding of these cats then that would mean more cats suffering- however if you got a lot of people in your area to quit supporting, then the value of munchkin cats in that area would go down and they would produce less or none.

If you don’t buy them they’re just gonna sit in a pet store for the rest of their lives, basically unloved and in pain.
