This is a video in my new Core Concepts series -- designed to provide students and lifelong learners a brief discussion focused on one main concept from a classic philosophical text and thinker.
This Core Concept video focuses on Audre's Lorde's address, The Uses of Anger, and specifically on the difference between the emotions of anger and hatred, and the implications of this distinction for feeling and expressing anger against racism

This is fantastic, engaging with her text helped me see my anger over racism, oppression, and other injustices not just as a destructive force that I must minimize feeling; instead aid me (to some extent) see the positive aspect of this anger. Thank you Prof. Sadler for your work and for giving her more exposer.
You're very welcome! We start the semester in two of my classes with this reading

Fantastic .. this feels more current and very relateable given the US's very racist past. Would like to hear you thoughts of James Baldwin's works (I didn't find any vids on him but could have just missed it).I need to rewatch your Franz Fanon vids come to think of it, great African American writer always put me in a tailspin. Thanks a bunch!
You’re very welcome
Frank Fanon isn’t American. He’s from Martinique and speaks French Creole
I’m angry with you, but i don’t hate you. Or, I disagree with you, but i don’t hate you. Building blocks for a new discussion i know i need to have like on a daily basis. Thank u
