The most modern & quiet, technologically advanced passenger airliner is the 787. You can't beat the cabin quietness, even turbulence on a 787 is significantly minimized.
The Boeing 787-10 is beautiful and elegant, but my love definitely goes to the 777-300ER. I've flown numerous times on her and she is the beauty AND the beast at the same time. This aircraft portrays just pure power to me and she sounds amazing as well!

I always enjoy a great challenge, but it is difficult to select a favorite, since each aircraft is designed to fill a unique role in commercial air travel. Of the two choices you have given us, I would have to select the 777 for most likely the pettiest of reasons. I do not like at all the ability of the flight attendants being able to control how much I am able to view out of my window and when I am supposed to go to sleep on a long flight. I rarely use the inflight entertainment system for other than watching the little plane travel to my destination, so I generally swap between reading and looking out the window. Even if there is not much to view, it is a pastime I developed many years ago. Furthermore, given the price I pay to fly business class, I want my right to see out my window, which is on an equal basis as those who have the right to sleep. Whatever might inconvenience other passengers by my window shade not being pulled down or darkened is much less than having to hear someone’s upset child scream for hours. It is fine if there are others who might disagree with me, but this is just my opinion. We all have opinions which others do not prefer. But, you do bring up an issue that hopefully will be resolved when aircraft manufacturers start producing the NMA (New Midsized Aircraft). I think that both the 777 and 787 carry too many passengers to be safely evacuated in an emergency. I am well aware that each has been thoroughly tested to evacuate passengers within the aviation safety guidelines. However, it would not take more than a few handicapped passengers in an aircraft capable of carrying around 300 passengers to congest a pathway to an exit. This problem intensifies if one or more of the available exits are not usable due to fire or some other obstruction. Consequently, I believe that the capacity of the now retiring 767 is about the largest widebody aircraft that is most safe to fly. I know I sort of discussed a few issues that are somewhat outside the scope of your question. But for some reason, your video brought them to the forefront of what I have been thinking for a long time. Besides, I enjoy your videos so much that I like to return the favor of your efforts by writing a long comment. Thank-you again for a well-done video, and I am looking forward to your next post.
I flew the KLM 777-300ER in December and the KLM 787-10 in January. Both in business class. I prefer the 787-10 due to the more modern cabin with the 1-2-1 configuration. The 777s with it's 2-2-2 configuration is great as long as you do not need to go to the bathroom while you are seated by the window and yor neighbour is sleeping.... Still I do love both of them :-)

At about 2:50 a 787 takes off at Amsterdam Schiphol airport, in the background there are a B-777 and a B-747. Although the comparison is between a 777 and a 787 the Queen of the sky is still my favorite. The triple 7 is an very well 'successor' of the 747 in my opinion.
777-300ER is the biggest twin jet in service so I prefer it. 777-300ER also comes with Ge90-115B. 777-200/ER vs 787-10 (similarly sized planes) would be a better comparision but the 772/ER is the old first generation 777 compared to 777-300er which is second generation 777
Both very nice planes. 787-10 is neater and sleeker looking and love the look of the narcelles on the genx's they have. And you cant beat the 777-300er's gargantuan ge90s in terms of sound and size. Dont think i can pick one or the other
Boy, this video just made me realize the engine noise difference between the two airplanes. 787 is noticeably quieter. I have flown with both of them. From the cabin experience standpoint, 787 is a no brainer compared to 777 in my opinion. Better air pressure and humidity. As a person who flew 12-plus-hour flights on both, I would say my nose and skin suffered more with 777. I haven't flown in premium (Business/First) class in either of them so I can't speak about them. However, on economic class, 787 is so much better especially if you fly with JAL with 2-4-2 configuration. Even with 3-3-3 config, it is still better than the standard 3-4-3 on 777 these days. 787 usually carries less passengers than 777 in most cases. You learn to appreciate less crowded cabin and less waiting-time at check-in counter for 787 flights.
For appearance and sound the 777. For functionality on long-hauls I will go out of my way to find a 767 or A330. I want a window but i wld rather climb over 1 person instead of 2 when i need to get up.
