Thanks for watching!
I really regret not buying one of these during college. Had a buddies father trying to sell one for dirt cheap. Big mistake.
how cheap we talking here
@@nanashi7779 15 bucks
@@nanashi7779 in 2017 a buddy bought a RHD s2k voor 6k.
I was still in high school in 2006 when this guy said he bought his in college but uhh lol these were not ... "cheap" even back then. People 100% knew what AP1 and AP2s were back in 06'. Y'all make it seem like these were $5-6k lol... These held their value even back then.
I remember when these first came out around 2002 - 2003...they were going for $40k CAD in the used market back on those days. Which is around $62k CAD in today's money...
I have learned to rev match and heel toe not by the hundreds of tutorials, but just by watching you drive. Props to your skills man, much love.
That 86 at the beginning is hilarious.
Also the 991 Gt2 rs
"Honestly, I love this car top down." Now there's a S2000 owner after my own heart. I'm fortunate that as a shorter guy the S2K fits me like a glove - I find the stock seats very comfortable even after spending all day in the car. But when it comes to putting aftermarket seats in the car, Eric did it right. Whether driving a S2K or something else, roads like that certainly make things more fun. (You can see where the idea of sports cars came from in the first place.) He seems like a cool guy, did you shoot a video of his RX7 as well?
He said at the end that RX7 vid is coming out shortly
The red panels, carpet, and seat combo with the red h on the steering wheel is so so fire this is how I would want my s2000 interior bruh.
She sounds beautiful! Love the 9000 rpm redline, right where it needs to be
I remember 7 years ago when I commented on the old S2000 video from Winding Road filmed with action glasses, believing about a video theft. And you answerd that it was yours . Now you're here again, having a blast into these little monsters !!!
Love your content !
Man I could listen to that engine all day long!! Perfection.👌🏽🔥🔥🔥
Wow what a whip of a car! You are so right about that exhaust. It sounds GLORIOUS!
I freakin love hondas, front or rear wheel drive, all of them are great fun.
The AP1 S2000 has a special engine for sure, but definitely one of the reasons why I prefer naturally aspirated engines. It sounds so raw and like a true sports car. Would definitely be happy with a car like this over a car that’s “fast”.
I used to drive my E36 M3 on those same roads. It was pure heaven on a weekday morning!! 😶🌫
What roads are these? I am taking a trip there tomorrow morning and want to drive them. Thanks
Topher's back with our daily dope early today
Needless to say, this car is a perfection😍
The NSX-R inspired interior is very nicely done by the owner!
What a nice build. And it sounds sooo good
Recently sold my S2000 to get a 991 911 C2S and i definitely still miss the S2000. Maybe someday in the future I'll have another one
It sounds so so good.
Mine resides in Wisconsin, but I've driven it out to California once. Amazing to be out west with this car.
Great S build. Honestly, and S owners will give me shit for saying this, but lift some weights and pull the EPS fuse. Yes, it's a heavier rack (like 35 lbs vs. 17 lbs on the FD3S), but I daily drive my S without power steering on top of track days/canyons and can never go back. I tried replacing the fuse because I was curious, and it's absolutely horrible. Yes, it's heavy and a 13.9:1 ratio thereby making it harder to turn (slower racks have better gearing to make it easier to turn the wheel), but it's basically like running your hands on the asphalt. Keep the 350mm wheel size as the larger rim allows for more leverage in turns which helps a lot. The wheel will buck your hands on road undulations. The rack does feel objectively heavier than my friend's NB's welded rack at lower speeds, but because he runs a 330mm wheel, it felt just as heavy in the canyons back-to-back.
is this a valid option for any EPS system? wish i could find something similar to do to my vette's hydraulic steering
I love mine. I'd get another in a heartbeat. Tracked mine at Nuremberg track. Amazing experience. Highly recommend. 👍
I love videos like this🔥
That Glendora Mountain road is so awesome if you can catch it without cars caravaning down to the river on the weekend. 10/10 Miata road.
That 86 car in the beginning is fire 🔥
Really cool car
buying one this year can’t wait !
god arm would be proud seeing this video
Topher out here reppin' the tuna! Nothing like a Tuna on-wrist!
wow amazing run
YOO my home road! The frontside is my fav. a screaming S top down in the canyons is always a great time
sound instantly reminded me of the Js Racing S2K from the old best motoring togue videos
Has the check engine light been turned into a shift light? Flashes on over 8000 rpm, pretty clever if you ask me
Yessir. The ECU allows for it
0:10 86 on a GR86 in the background 👀
Neat trick with the check engine light flashing at 8k!
I remember selling my clean gpw ap1 for like 15k. Can’t replace it for anywhere near that now 😢
VTEC yeeeeeeeea👍!!!!!!
Best color combo.
That is some nice ass driving
Adoro esses vídeos !
10:18〜 Driving pleasure
Great car
Nothing like GMR in a S2K! :D
I know this spot! You’re on GMR going down the backside. To the right is GRR! It’s only 20 miles from me.
I miss my AP1
I feel like you’re under powered for the mods that you have . A lot of people make like 200whp stock . And around 210-215 whp with a test pipe with a Catback and a tune . You should be making more .
Pretty much a dream car, but they cost an insane amount here...
How do you get such good audio with the top down!? My go pro just picks up wind noise non stop
Love s2000 POV video. What are the three red buttons on the steering wheel?
Cruise control 👍
If that 9k sound doesn't put a smile on your face, you should see your doctor....
reminds me of o_O S2000
I wonder where that legend is nowadays...
@@funkad95 he's still active! Nowadays he's running an orange S2K!
@@sterlingposey5024 he changed YT channel? I checked the old one it's not active anymore.
@@krrk6337 he's featured on some videos, but I don't think he's UA-cam active anymore.
roof down s2k on a sunny canyon road, does it get any better?
Love the saw sound? What exhaust are you running?.
after my turbo'd brz got totalled, Ive been struggling to find a new "trackable daily". Cant decide between an r32 gtst or gts4, boosting an s2k, or just going for a motorcycle
can we get a video on the watches you have? I've seen some different ones in the videos.
Where to get the cruise control buttons/mount, and are we sure that's a 330mm wheel (looks more like 350mm judging from turn signal stalks vs. wheel rim)? Great vid!
yes, its a 330 and the cruise control mount was bought from evasive. I think they still sell it
Where is the 19inch touch screen with every control embedded into it and freezes every other day? 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
lol Sadly today's cars are basically appliances on wheels. They won't age gracefully - but I don't see this changing as the use, toss, and replace approach works great for the manufacturers.
@@VirtualGuththat’s what wrong with all modern vehicles, they are basically rolling computers at this point and they are way to complicated, there are just too many things that can go wrong with it. The best thing about cars like this is that they are simply just drivers cars. They will be reliable and fun for 20-30 years. It’s not like a Range Rover that has all these computers that break after a few years and becomes obsolete. These simple drivers cars like the S2000 are just ageless.
@@zoomzoom3839 Sure, but this appears to be what the vast majority of people want. Those computers have enabled incredible levels of performance in today's cars and American car buyers seem to be loving it. Sadly, such performance gains have come at the expense of driver involvement. For quite some time now drivers have been happily trading out manual transmissions for ever lower 0-60 times. Making it all the more ironic when today's car enthusiasts howl about the self-driving vehicles now showing up in ever increasing numbers. From a technology standpoint, autonomous vehicles are just a logical extension of where where we have already been heading for quite some time now.
Much has changed since the S2000 was still in production. When S2000 videos pop up on UA-cam it is not uncommon to see comments to the effect of "Why isn't Honda building a car like this today?" The simple answer is that relatively few people would actually be willing to buy such a car today - certainly not at today's prices that is.
i neeeed that diffuser
becareful in the malibu cayons! cops are ticketing like crazy
Did you like 330mm wheel?
Skip to 5:18 for the actual driving
Have the next best thing, 2006 FG2 Si
FWD S2000😅
Few engine sounds better than a VTEC screaming near top range
Where can I get a Honda steering wheel cap for my race wheel?
Im thinning of going from a 21 Wrx to a s2000 as a daily. Do you guys think it’s worth it or just keep it and not get the s2000k
Do all S2000 have E.P.A.S?
How is it compared to the z3 m roadster?
That harness bar height does not work at all with those seats. Owner is even too tall for the shoulder slots...
yo what steering wheel seatup is that?
Can you please provide the offset on the CE28 wheels?
I got almost the same mods! Quick question, does anyone else have a weird rattle medal-ish noise on de-cel around 3K RPM? I can't figure out the noise. I thought it was exhaust related, but I already tighten everything.
Most likely Clutch buzz, mine has the exact same. Absolutely nothing to worry about :)
@@twit5868 thanks man! The sound is so annoying.. anyway to get rid of it?
swap to an ap2 trans :/ @@rightfight100
Found out I needed another valve adjustment after installed the cams a year ago.
Yooo in SoCal

what's up with the CEL coming on after 8k rpm??
86の痛車だと!?w
Love the car but 20-30k for a 20 year old car is crazy
People pay 100k for 50 year old cars what your point lol
You can get one with minor problems for around $10k. Will it be easy? No get ready to travel as well
I just purchased a 2001 with 114k miles clean title for $9k. Needed a new transmission bought new used one $1k and $500 new clutch installed myself
If you want to pay less, choose a more unpopular car like say the Mazda RX-8 (or even BMW Z3 or Mercedes SLK). It's just a matter of lack of supply compared to demand (which tends to affect most "cult" cars). Less popular sportscars are *always* more affordable. 🙂
this is a mass-produced car. It was relatively affordable and was cheap on the used market a decade ago.@@tyhyhh
Worth every penny
My AP1 drank oil like crazy. Like a quart a week crazy. Ruined the experience for me tbh :(
*Honda/Acura makes 0 RWD based car now.*
What a shame!
That's not true, they make the Honda e lol. It's not exactly a sportscar mind you, but... News on the Sports EV concept (sportscar version of e) seems to have gone quiet, unfortunately. It seems like Honda is concentrating on the rebadged Chevy SUV EVs for the moment. Now, Mazda have presented an electric MX-5 concept and Subaru have presented an electric sportscar concept, it seems like either of those are going to get to market with the first small, 'affordable' electric sportscar even though Honda presented their concept first...
I just bought a stock 2002 S2000 AP1 but I get so much hate from people if I say I’m gonna mod it
I liked my own comment
Ok
Nifty car .. but I'll take my '06 BMW Z4 M Roadster any day.
People who modify these cars...shouldn't have one!! You don't rice a car that is so special and wonderful stock...its a Is collectors car with Heritage.shame on you!!
