The Wonderful World of Purple Martins

The South Wake Conservationists chapter of NC Wildlife Federation explores the amazing world of purple martins with Courtney Rousseau, co-founder and current president of the NC Purple Martin Society (NCPMS). These iconic birds are voracious insect-eaters and their migration into the U.S. is one of the first harbingers of spring. We will also learn ways to add purple martin habitat and boxes to your yard and NCPMS's wonderful efforts and initiatives to conserve these amazing birds!
Courtney Rousseau has a B.S. degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University. She started the NCPMS on an informal basis in 2010 and had it incorporated in 2021.
