Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

They probably should have a reward for going only slightly faster then the default to encourage people to actually play
The swoop might be more effective with your seat in the back of the build, so it triggers the checkpoint just as your pulling up.

Most likely not significantly, as his back does not really swing out due to the high aerodynamic resistance during the turn. If his back makes, his front would have also passed that point

As someone who is apparently good at this, you think the first place guy he couldn't beat may have been using some kind of glitch? Seems weird that he was seeing so much better performance out of an apparently identical vehicle.
@@Nevir202 I mean, it's possible. It'd be a freak chance, but it's possible. Recall back to Scrapman's Centrifuge Sonic Boom video. Breaking your creation can create unintended Zero Drag glitches. If 1st place got a freak chance break on the swoop or start that broke off just enough of the nose to destroy the drag on it, but not enough to destroy the vehicle, they'd be moving faster in the atmosphere. I'm not saying that's what they did, I'm only saying that's a possibility to "glitch" in this kind of race. I mean, you could technically get a fairly fast time if you made a kind of lunar lander type thing that crashes down on the planet point and then rockets up the seat separated from the rest of the creation straight up and it'd be "fast". I'd be outside of reasonable leagues, but it's doable and it'd create a Zero Drag Glitch.
Weird that they just made the exact same race twice- and why are the space races basically entirely within atmosphere? It's just an air rave at that point

Ive been subscribed since he had around 200k, and watching him grow in popularity over the years is one of the best things ever
I was here to see survival mode come out. To see Catarinth become a thing. To think, I originally found him back in like... God... 2018 I think? Maybe a tad sooner? If I remember correctly, he had been like... A random recommendation on UA-cam or had played with someone else I was watching at the time. And now, after so many years, lad is 99k away from 1 million subs. This journey has been absolutely phenomenal and I look forward to what comes next.
Absolutely, i watched him back in 2016, when his account got hacked, i stopped watching because i thought he will be gone for eternity. And then, in 2018 i rediscovered his chanel and watched every single Video since. Actually, im still waiting for the new office tour... april fools and his background doesnt count in my opinion xD

been here since the suspended steampunk base days (which makes me feel very old), incredible how far you've come,the 1mil play button could be your christmas present this year
It would be fun to see Scrapman and the others do a 'Moon Rover' battle on the different planets in the space map - different weapons for different plants - different atmospheres- and it would also be fun seeing all the other vehicles react to the terrain and gravity!!!
Props to the editor for the photosensitivity warning! An audible warning would be nice too though, in case someone looked away and missed the visible one.
Fun fact: STAR-48 engine is considered the fastest rocket engine in the world!

My favorite part about these races is that hitting the atmosphere actually has immediate effects you can see and feel. I accidentally made a rocket for last week's race that automatically flipped upright when it hit the atmosphere

Man its crazy to think that 1 million is round the corner and to also think I've been here to watch like a good majority of it come in, I don't specifically know when I started watch but I know its been closer to the start of this channel since I remember the Suspended Mountain Base, and when the channel was hacked at one point so much has changed since then
So true, it's been a wild ride. Having been here almost since the beginning, it's amazing to see how far he's come. I remember him achieving 100,000 subs and getting the silver button, how much of a milestone it was, and still is. And now, to think that scrap is just around the corner of 1mil, just incredible. He's on the home stretch now as he is currently on 900k and will have to achieve that same 100k milestone, now for the 10th time, to achieve 1,000,000.🥲

hey scrapman I have a video suggestion dogfights but you have to use the least complexity as you can to make a functional airplane you can set a limit for the complexity if you want keep up the great work
You can try putting a servo at maximum speed with weight blocks or normal blocks attached to it to your center of mass. I think that could get you a gyro without power cores
You can use spinning servos for zero power core yaw. (That's what I use on my hover vehicles in campaign.)
They don't have a lot of authority, but some authority is better than nothing.

Random idea in case the next space race includes a swoop. But what if the seat was near the tail so it almost whips in the checkpoint while the rest of the vehicle already is changing directions for the next part.
logic to cancel out your controls at a certain height from the ground could work

You can move to the optimal starting position by moving the ship in build mode instead of using the respawn point.

This just goes to show how much time and dedication people put into this I mean Scrapman was using the first place build and he still could only get second only after a day of the race being up first place must have thousands of hours in this game

try starting from above, that might be how they might have got the good angle, if that dosent work you might be able to use hover pads to do extremely sharp angles.
I think a came up with an idea for bionic league vehicle. So basically it needs to have classic rotating servo propellers + a piston mechanism that will push heavy blocks and then detach them thus pushing vehicle forward
You should use detachable blocks to lose your wings after the swoop.
How many pistons would it take to extend from near the 3rd checkpoint down to the 2nd checkpoint? Instead of flying down there, just extend your seat down and then retract it.

i bet it says "better than 100% " was probably because it's rounding the percentage and you were better than 99.5%, which rounds upwards. they could fix this by instead of rounding use floor(percentage / 10) * 10 which effectively rounds downwards always or by just showing the decimal places
is it possible to add an altitude sensor that triggers a gyro facing you up. like when you hit the altitude where the swoop is, you snap 90 degrees straight up?
So.... are they all gonna be like that? Land & take off? Can we get a *real* space race at some point?
For the top 100% it might be some rounding thing, if there is a lot of people, so you might be like better than 99.8% or something like that, and the display just rounds up to 100% then
I think thrust vectoring could have helped him a bit with the start.
It's a pity that the game is not available in Russia and you have to play it on a pirated version. It’s just that I built a small rocket a long time ago that can automatically land on the surface and travel 400 km in 5 seconds at the start.
I am not sure what uses power cores but for these kinds of races could you do a VTOL type vehicle with rotating thrust tied to a altitude sensor so all you have to do is touchdown in the second checkpoint. Go vertical to victory.

i feel like most people won t really do that much no drag glitches as its in space so people might forget also there prob will be much less people here then in the previous races
The thing scrap should have done is repair outside of the race start to straighten his build out
I’ve done all the limited races with the starter vehicle and then I somehow made a go cart league vehicle that works

Couldn't you use a disposable dangly bit to trigger the dangerous waypoint? Also, is there a way to bounce off the ground?
What if you build a space x type of rocket where you would go straight down with thrusters on the front helping to slow down and then without turning around go straight up?
If there is high atmosphere perhaps perhapskis plane rotor will do the job since you've got a reverse on it?
