Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Grats dude! #1 is awesome. The message is confusing though. "You are better than 99% of other players." That means 1% are better than you but you are first. It should read better than 100% of others. I am guessing they are just taking the number below you and dividing by the total number of entries and truncating the value, but they should be taking it and dividing by total entries minus 1 since you wouldn't ever count your own position in that ranking.
By the fact that Scrapman is one f the players, means that it's impossible to be better than 100% of all players because you cannot be better than yourself, he.factors into the 100%
@user-bj2ix8ow2b When you state that "You are better than ...", you are already implicitly stating "other" players, thereby excluding yourself. You would never count yourself ever in a comparison when doing a ranking as worded. Even then, you would still rank in the 100th percentile, not the 99th. It reflects what percentage of the rest of the pool of competitors is ranked lower than you. If you are number 1, you are literally better than 100% of all other competitors. If you are better than 99%, that means there exists at least 1 competitor that is better than you and therefore you cannot be #1, by definition.
Think of this practically: you are rank 1. There are a total of 101 competitors. Therefore there are 100 competitors ranked behind you. If you are better than 99% of then, then you are better than 99% of 100 competitors, which is 99. Which means 1 of those 99 is better than you. Which means you are, at best, #2. But we already stated you were #1.

Hey scrap man I had an idea what about if you literally create a rocket ship like rocketship that goes like forward sideways in the beginning of the race and as soon as you touch the landing checkpoint, you go straight up I think that would be a really good idea🤔🤷

I never played trailmakers but I think you could use dynamite to exaltat up. Crash in the mushroom explod and hopefully the seed gets blown upwards.

Best Scrap Mechanic on UA-cam.
I managed to complete this in the gokart league, using a single 1 core thruster! Unfortunately it's one wide so it's nearly impossible to perfectly center it on a 2 wide cockpit. After spending ages trying to find the right angle with hinges I realises I could just use spin stabilisation to stay mostly straight until reaching atmosphere (inside it, the off balance thrust is less of an issue). And since the weakest thruster is not strong enough to take off, i used two inflatable ballons to shoot upwards after (crash) landing.
That is actually pretty clever the balloons a bit like an actual space mission plan.
Scrap man they added a mini map to screw drivers now you should check it out!

Lol, same. I also can't comment regularly because UA-cam was coded as well as Yandere Simulator, so I'm going to reply here to mark my place in time.
Spoilers are the lightest block in weight to volume ratio, you can use them as building blocks. They won't have any downforce effect if you place them parallel to your direction of travel.
Also, the second best option other than a spoiler is to use the inverted rounded *corner* (has to be the corner) as it is only 0.2 kg.
Love to whoever is editing these recently, there's been a noticeable quality increase with onscreen graphics! Keep up the great work!

I have a video idea for you Scrapman. It’s who can survive the longest using an overpowered car against human-guided missiles. There will be 3 rounds plus 2 bonus rounds, 3 rounds of the car vs the missiles, and then the bonus rounds, 1 bonus round is missile vs missile, and the other bonus round is the overpowered car vs another overpowered car. (The bonus rounds are optional) and ofc you can also add your own stuff to the vid idea.

You should do a challenge where someone makes a crew Capsule and service module and the other makes a Lander,and you should make a Docking system,the person should try to dock with you,undock with you at a planet,land it,go back up and re dock with the capsule.i think that would be cool to see in trailmakers.

Next week when you try the other races in the beginning of the video you should check what place you are on the leaderboard to see if you dropped places and if so how many did you drop.
I would love to think that the rule of "No Quantum Rudders" and it being in space would level the playing field, but already know despite these facts, the top 4 in each race and each category will have used some kind of glitch. Like I truly commend Flashbulb for trying, but unless they limit the parts that can be used, there will never be a race that isn't plagued with top place glitched players. Scrapman's already proven the Hoverpad glitch works in space and kind of can replace the quantum rudder in some senses, so.......yeah. I'd need to take a look at these races and the rules on them before I attempt them.
I'm also surprised you didn't try some sort of sacrificial landing gear. Something like, I dunno....perhapskis?

I've never played Trailmakers, but I know it involves some logic. I wonder if it's possible to create something that can automatically run a race for you.
This alvaroping1 guy is such a sweat (meant it as a good thing), he is always first in all races
He uses glitches for all the other races, he posts his vids to UA-cam too lol. I think this space race seems to negate any glitches that he usually uses

@@sooperburrito It's the rare sort of checkpoint that tracks based off of the seat part touching it, rather than any block connected to the seat

As soon as you started having those aiming issues I knew you could get 7 something seconds if you overcame those issues. Also I think the automation is going to become the meta for that race

Of course having fewer competitors makes #1 a bit easier, but I think the fact that there really aren't glitches in zero atmosphere makes it raw design and skill, which you have plenty of! Bravo!

Does the ufo/hoverpad glitch work as a quantum rudder without tripping the block restrictions? It's a glitch but it's not a game breaking glitch.
Note: the comments are only spoilers, I suggest you stop here if you haven't finished the video
Not really sure if you have as much of a voice as I think you do, but could you talk to the devs about maybe looking into the glitches in these races?
I could imagine it's not to hard to detect if someone is glitching as we know exactly how these glitches are done and can reliably recreate them, so it would be nice to maybe have a "cheater" leaderboard that's separate from the normal leaderboard. Like if all aerodynamic blocks are attached only by detatch blocks, hoverpads pressed against each other, or blocks already starting the race at one of the checkpoints, yet the driver is still at the start/vice versa.
Obviously a lot of the glitches in this game actually have a good reputation like the piston glitch for detailing designs and the servo torque glitch has been gaining popularity, so obviously people aren't really wanting these glitches fixed, nor do I, and I also think it shouldn't be perceived as a negative thing for this hypothetical leaderboard.
On the other hand though, it feels very unrewarding when people come to try to craft their creation to be the best in these races, but when you feel as though you will never be able to achieve anything higher than rank 250 because all of the ghost racers when you start are packed full of glitches.
Not entirely sure if you read these but worth a shot. Also I have a somewhat decent amount of experience in editing but I can tell your editor is insanely talented and passionate about their work. I hope they are appreciated as much as I appreciate their work.

Idea for a video: Make armed satellites that orbit the gravity sphere in the asteroid field. This makes it so anyone can come from anywhere and shoot you, you have to regulate your speed so you stay in orbit, you can be far or close to the center and if youre unlucky, you may collide and the third/fourth player wins.
What if you design your own "quantum rudder" that simulates it's own "drag" using weak thrusters. Possibly based on your speed

I like how it's still "99% better", and not "100% better"... as it wouldn't really make sense, but yeah.
I completed it with my own creation, got the gold for completing it, but then when i continue it resets and says that I failed? It doesn't unlock any other race. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
Ive always hated the quantum rudder and gyros because of how illogical they are so I appreciate the devs having restrictions on the race.
I really wish gyros were replaces with stabilization thrusters or similarly named things that made more sense physics wise.
I got the automated idea to work by using gyro stabilizer to go from plane to rocket the I got was 14.16sec and my power cores was at 26
1:29 All races should use this mechanic to restrict the use of hover blocks if not necessary to disqualify glitch engines and even detachable blocks to disqualify zero drag glitch vehicles bcs why would you need to detach anything in a race anyways
If the zone registers your seat, it feels like placing it in the back of your vehicle gives better chances for a successful swoop. I'm not sure tho, never been in the first place :D
Theres a saying for why scrapman struggles on this so much and it goes like this, fast is fine, but accuracy is final. You must learn how to be quick in a hurry.

why not put the seat toward the back so that you can pitch up earlier, when the ship pitches the cockpit will be brought lower so you don't have to almost belly graze.
If the checkpoint registers the seat...
Wouldn't it make sense to put the seat further back so that the register point is closer to the tail, making it easier to grab when you point up?
