Q: Does this really work? It feels impossible.
A: Learning music is like learning a foreign language. It won't happen in a day, but rather with daily growth over a long period of time. If you learn these shapes on your instrument, learn to sing these intervals, and become mindful about the intervals you play on a daily basis, you will gradually start to notice a difference in how you hear music. Make sure you're also doing other kinds of ear training, like sight-singing and functional ear training.
Q: For this particular example, why did you use this fret instead of this other one. Am I wrong?
A: Unlike on the piano, notes occur in several locations on the guitar neck. I used the first interval shapes that popped into my mind. As long as you got the interval name correct, the fret doesn't matter as much.
Q: What does the 8 mean below the treble clef?
A: Guitar sounds down the octave from where it's written. Usually, this is assumed and the 8 is not necessary, but I had to put it there in Logic Pro so that the examples would sound correct.
Q: The music sounds weird, or warped, or I couldn't hear one of the notes of the intervals.
A: Use headphones. I've noticed that long, sustained notes sometimes sound strange if my wi-fi connection is bad or I'm using phone speakers. It always sounds fine in my headphones and studio speakers.
Q: Are you sure this particular example was correct? I heard this other interval.
A: The sheet music examples are directly exported from the audio exercises. While it's not uncommon for me to make a mistake, it's more common for someone to accidentally hear the example as an inversion. Maybe you sang the notes out of order because one of them was out of your vocal range? For example- you heard an E-C (minor 6th), but it was actually a C-E (major 3rd), which is an inversion. This is especially common for perfect intervals. Headphones can also help with this.
Q: Why are interval shapes different on the higher strings?
A: The guitar is tuned in perfect 4ths, with the exception of the G-B strings, which would be a major 3rd. Because the distance between those strings is different, interval shapes need to be adjusted to compensate. This is only the case if an interval is jumping to or across the B string.

Harmonics are the worst!!
For some reason im terrible with major 7 when the notes are individuals but can easily tell when they are in the harmonic ....
To me, it is easier to hear the consonance/dissonance when they are played harmonically. On the other hand, harmonic 3rds and 6ths all sound like major chords to me because my brain is filling in the missing note.
