I absolutely get it. I made all the trim work for my house, baseboards, rails, spindles, casing, in my shop. All from a 5,000 board foot truck load of clear poplar. The stairway and balcony rails all required spindles,, 140 of them, 42 inches long 1.25 X 1.25 All ripped on my table saw,, all hand planed at my bench. That is nearly 1/2 mile of spindle sides. The shavings curls were knee deep. Time well spent,, I was learning some opera arias as I worked.
Danny and Jeremy are doing fabulous work! Thank you so much for helping B. Cam, I appreciate everything you take on to keep this build going and you are a wonderful example of a supportive and encouraging spouse. Love you guys!
Biata, the day that just didn't go well sure came around when help came to the rescue. A beautiful job and you have much to be proud of. Keep up the good work. 😊

Dude, you are an insanely productive, self-taught builder. Crying is totally ok. You are the effing boss. You should be so proud of all you've accomplished. The metal dudes did an amazing job....And....thanks for the videos!
I found this REALLY interesting to watch for some reason. It's cool seeing an expert do their thing and making it look easy. That's the trouble with DIY... once you 'get the hang of a specific task' you're done! Doing great Biata! Keep going!
Going into unknown territory and peojects is always a challenge! At 70+ yrs, there are so many things that I know nothing about. When something isn't going the way you want / hoped, stand back at rethink where the hiccup is. I've found that saying a lil prayer works for me, also take a short break, walk away then come back and look at it from a different angle... hope these few words of encouragement will help. Glad that Cam and the guys were able to help... There is a reason they are in your life! 😊 It rurned out reallllly awesome🎉 Till the next one... 🙏💗👍🤙 Oh, just in case i haven't told ya before... Ya have a very beautiful smile 🤗
It’s ok to have those melting moments!! It’s also ok to need and ask for help!! I know you are so fiercely independent, but it’s ok to let your guard down sometimes. You should be so proud of what you have achieved so far and how amazing is it that one of your followers has come to do the metal work?! I look forward to next week’s instalment.
It looks amazing! I have spent 3 months working on my 18'x9' yard shed rebuild and have had some mental breakdowns along the way too. I finished it this weekend and I am so proud of it. You are nearly there, Biata!
Danny and Jeremy you two are great "neighbors" im so happy you took the guys help Biata. Nothing wrong with reaching your hand out for help...Cam! You rock dude!!
Okay, Cam did indeed come through big time with the comic relief in this one!! 😂 So fun to see your interaction while getting the job done. And their metal work looks great!! You're Getting There!!❤
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Look at all you’ve done by yourself. A house. A real house. And to top it all off, you’re almost done and you are going to have a home you will be proud that you did it 95% by yourself. We will be here to support you through your journey. Keep up the good work.
The black soffit, facia and gutters look so sharp. When the siding gets installed sometime in the future it's going to make everything pop. By the way it's so cool how you and Cam work so well together. See you next week. Can't wait.😊
I absolutely have to say, marry your best friend 🙂. We have so much fun together and always have. From our first date until now. We talk and talk and talk 💖. Thank you so much. I love the gutters! Everything is coming together so well!
Good Morning 🌅, Biata, It is always great to work by yourself, but it comes to a point where you need help or you end up being overwhelmed by what you are capable of doing, then mistakes happen, end up taking longer to do the job, and worst of all you could end up injuring yourself, it is fine to seek help, mainly to stay safe, I have worked for myself for the best part of nearly 50 years, And if I find I had a problem, I will step away, and in my younger years, I would go for a run, anywhere between five and 10 miles, It clears your mind, and reset yourself, You must be very proud of yourself , you have a accomplished a great deal over the last few years, You are taken on trades where normally you have to go to college to be shown how to do things in a certain way, learning something on the job, and as you go is very time-consuming You are a inspiration for other people to go out and do this type of thing , building your home from scratch, A very great sense of achievement, it’s all coming together now and looking great, stay strong and positive and stay safe, ❤ from France.
Hi Biata I'm so glad they reached out to help you... sometimes we can't do it all by ourselves, and there is nothing wrong with getting help when you need it... this was the time❤
Thanks guys some times help is necessary. Wipe those tear Mary-Jane and get to work. Lol my hubby is in rehab and that’s what I tell him. Girl you got this, I’m building a ramp for him and had a hard time getting the angles. I said to myself what wood Biata do🥰
A trim brake is real nice to have on a house build to make up all the special metal coverings you need. You can rent them down here in the us from home depot if you don't own one. Unless of course you have access to a full sheet metal shop, then you can do crazy stuff like stainless steel facia, drip edge and custom gutters along with any other metal coverings your heart desires.
Three fold ! ! ! #1 - It looks amazing. #2 - Its maintenance free. #3 - It will last for 50 years or more ! ! ! ! ! You did good by hiring it out ! ! !
Sometimes you just need a professional that has the training and equipment to do the job. It looks great and this is going to give you a boost to get in by winter. That's a huge plus!!!
I can't believe that there is no UA-cam fans out there around you that has not put there hands up to come & give you a free hand. All the other UA-camrs I watch do.
Good morning, B. It is OK to cry when nothing works. You slept on it and got help. Congratulations on the work done. You WILL get there 👍👍👍👍 All the best to you and your family.
Don't fret over the hard parts Biata I have felt the same way with over 40 years of building. I find sometimes if I go and do something else that needs to be done when I come back, I have a different perspective and can accomplish the task. The place is looking fantastic. God Bless from your Canadian Friend.
Wow. You are a very talented woman and not afraid to learn everything you possibly can. Getting upset when things aren’t going right is natural so don’t let it take you down. It was great to see you smile the next morning and have Cam there for you to help. That is LOVE ❤️. What a difference by getting the sheet metal on and you will be super glad you did the gutters. Think about putting leaf guards on them so you don’t have to clean out the leaves. Love the pine you are using around the dormer. Have another great week and I can’t wait till next Sunday.
Hi Biata! I love the colour of your stain, I'm using a similar colour in my house for my shelves and cabinets. Please don't think less of yourself for getting help, some things are far too much to do on your own - I can't believe you tried to put that board up by yourself 😮!! Looking forward to next week, take care, Naomi x

I believe putting the stain on all sides of the board leaves no room to breath and will cause t to crack, just think about it when siding is put on the don’t paint the back side

Most husband's get to say that their wife made a home. Cam is lucky because not only did his wife make a home. She is making a house too. Awesome job Biata. What a long way you have come.
Hey Biata, even though I've never built a house before I've felt just as frustrated when doing some mechanical repairs. Like one of your other commenters had mentioned, I too take a step back from what is not working and go do something else and then come back to it. However, for what you were attempting to do, I agree with your husband that it was definitely a two person job so please don't beat yourself up about it. I try and do a lot of stuff on my own and at a week away from my 51st birthday I'm finally coming to realize that I have to ask for help because I can't do it myself.
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata , thanks! If you're like me (stubborn) you know that asking for help is easier said than done. Oh, sorry, I almost forgot. I really like the tongue & groove stained planks you are putting up for your gables. I think that is going to look cool when you are done.

Your doing an awesome job but sometimes you just need to walk away and call it a day and just relax we all go threw it your not alone there is not a person out here that doesn’t have one of those days when nothing goes right the fact that you’ve gotten this far with minimal help you’ve impressed all of us just hang in there just always remember you always got to take time out for your mental health keep hammering away we’re here until the end of your job god bless
if you dont have neighbours super close, just let a long loud scream rip. can feel great when things are incredibly frustrating. or have a break with a cry and a tea, that works too. or quit for the day. sometimes you just have to. some tasks are almost impossible to do solo. yeah you dont want to put holes into your waterproofing and insulation, but to do things solo you pretty much need to. just stick a few screws in to rest the board on and then after the board is up, take the support screws out and fill the hole with caulking. pros put holes all over their stuff and dont even bother to fill them after, so you will be fine, especially if you just fill the holes. you are doing a really good job. dont stress about things not being perfect, cause pros dont even make things perfect. you are doing a better job than most pros, seriously. pros are faster but they are usually also sloppier because they dont care and its not their house.
hi there, dig the vids,, at min 20, next time just put some nails under where the 2x4 should go, then just put your board on and install by yourself, some hand drive 16 penny,, God bless
I'm sure you're already aware, but seeing your screw mention reminded to reiterate, nails for shear strength, I know screws seem always best in any manner but that is not the case, screws for tensile strength. Just some food for thought. Obviously not so important here in most cases keeping in mind crosswinds, i.e. shear loads, shear movements, etc. Anyhow, you're doing better than most "professionals" I work with. I'd defo hire you to build homes for me. I know I'm impressed.

Thanks so much for all of this
if you dont have neighbours super close, just let a long loud scream rip. can feel great when things are incredibly frustrating. or have a break with a cry and a tea, that works too. or quit for the day. sometimes you just have to. some tasks are almost impossible to do solo. yeah you dont want to put holes into your waterproofing and insulation, but to do things solo you pretty much need to. just stick a few screws in to rest the board on and then after the board is up, take the support screws out and fill the hole with caulking. pros put holes all over their stuff and dont even bother to fill them after, so you will be fine, especially if you just fill the holes. you are doing a really good job. dont stress about things not being perfect, cause pros dont even make things perfect. you are doing a better job than most pros, seriously. pros are faster but they are usually also sloppier because they dont care and its not their house.
Amazing❤
hi there, dig the vids,, at min 20, next time just put some nails under where the 2x4 should go, then just put your board on and install by yourself, some hand drive 16 penny,, God bless
Love it
Great work Biata... love from Poland :)
Thank you so much! I’ve been told Beata is a popular name is Poland! Do you hear it often?
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata Yes, it's a trendy name...I've many friends with name "Beata" so I always address them by adding their last name :d
Yes!!!!
😍😍😍
You know I love you so much your so real and unafraid to fuck up you have a good cry and then get back at it I wish I was like that.
It’s important to have a good cry. I honestly would’ve taken the rest of the day off if I wasn’t under such a time crunch
Girl built an entire house by herself, but starts to be sad about one 2x4 that she can't screw in. Haha. You do a great job!
Lmao 😂 you’re not wrong ☺️
🎉🎉🎉 👏👏👏 Bravo!
Thank you! It’s a good reminder. Would it be tricky to find a 3.5” nail? Nothing that long would shoot through the gun
