You’re very kind & taking people’s feelings into account is a good thing. But you don’t need to feel bad at all. The term was first used in a 1926 Sears catalog. It has no more connection to slavery than terms like master’s degree, master plan etc, nor does it have any other negative historical context of use. It’s only in the past year that possible negative associations have been linked to it. There’s no way you could’ve know
🤦♀️ here in Florida the realty term Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom, Master closet, is what is used to differentiate the bedrooms. I don’t think anyone makes the affiliation for the “master” term. First time I hear of this.

that big mama golden pothos in your second bathroom is AMAZING. god i love when pothos wrap around everything like jumanji. anyways, also a maranta lover.
my bathroom has two ginormous southern facing windows and i keep around 15 plants in there!! my favorite is the huge philodendron brazil i have hanging above the round mirror above the sink, with one vine cascading down each side of the mirror. the plant is so happy that the vines have reached the floor - and i've had that plant less than a year!
I'm a fan of maranta/calathea/geoppartia. I think they're given a bad rep but honestly I feel like they're fairly easy to care for. I only have two, a zebrina, and a Warscewiczii.
I save the bathroom space around the bathtub for my quarantine status plants! The newbies.
Ironically I have that same miranta in my bathroom. I didn't know what it was at first, but it grows like a weed in there. I love it! ❤️🥰🇨🇦

I have my begonia maculata in the bathroom, as well as a fern, monstera adansonii, and some marble queen cuttings a just put in soil.
I have a bird's nested fern in my bathroom. I hear they love the moisture and grow great. It's only been a week. (And I have no widows) So far, so good!
I had my two unknown rescue shower ferns on the window sill in our shower and my partner just put a shelf up next to the sink, because he kept getting soap on them haha We have a lemon button fern in there as well and apparently a Hoya Australis now... oops. It was quarantined there for a bit and now it just lives there and is putting out new growth!

I LOOOVE maranta and calathea! Mine tend to grow a lot really quick, then die back 😂 I can’t get the consistency down, but at least I’ve never had one completely die on me!

@@TiffanyMp. I have one tiny window that produces little to no light. So my plants aren’t near it. I have the 2 ferns (and an air plant) sitting on the counter below the 2 can lights w grow bulbs.

Love my Marantas. Not only are they amazing to watch they're super rewarding plants to grow, that push new growth constantly, with next to no special care requirements. I do use filtered water but that's it. Low light friendly, no pest pressures & lower humidity tolerant than other prayer plants. LOVE them.

Edit: Also, did you know that you can use Kalanchoe leaf juice to cure runny nose or make an infusion with vodka for gastrointestinal problems!

Do you typically spray off your plants when you water them? I'm always nervous about spraying them off/dampening the moss pole because I don't want them to get water down to the soil and get overwatered.

In my bathroom I have a golden pothos, a heartleaf philodendron, a kimberly queen fern that HATES me, a little coconut shell of succulents, and some philodendron brazil cuttings propogating. I plan on moving my marble queen pothos into the bathroom too. All the trailing plants in my bathroom sit on my shower wall and I am dying for it to be just a wall of green leaves!

Kai is super cute ❤️❤️❤️ . I live in a unit so not big bathroom. I have an anthurium laceleaf flamingo, I love the red flowers, I have 3 snake plants, one Hoya Australis. I could put in some shelves but the tile are tricky to drill on. Watching your orchid making me thinking: maybe I could grow them. Hehehe maybe
Just got my first maranta, which is also the 2nd FULL plant ive purchased. Usually get small ones. Love watching them grow. But i absolutely love my maranta. Gorgeous! 🥰
Maranta lover here! 🙋🏻♀️ I absolutely love them even though they are a bit more challenging. Also, orchid 101 please!!! I would love to know how you take care of your orchids. I’ve only had one (which was a gift) which produced a baby orchid which I propagated and is doing well (big leaves with new leaf but no flower or stalk) but I’ve never gotten the mommy orchid rebloom (I think it’s dying hahaha).
I had no desire for a maranta because they seemed like fussy little things. & I'm new to keeping plants alive UNTIL I saw that little green maranta [not variegated like yours] at home depot for $3.98. I thought... what the hell. If I end up killing it at least it wasn't expensive. & OMG I have grown to love it sooo much! It has given me soooo much new growth since I bought it in Feb. Totally love. 10 out of 10 recommend 😉
Hi Harli! No, I don't have plants (live ones) in my bathroom because it doesn't have a window. ;-( I'm on the fence about marantas. I had one years ago and it died, but I may try one again. IDK.
