David’s Atomic running first in cold weather hence the smoke and second after the fuel timing had been adjusted and the weather warmer.
The engine is No200005 and built in 1928 of 82hp.

maybe it doesn't like the exhaust setup? being 2 stroke it might be struggling to scavenge effectively

its running on one cylinder and sometimes 2, its just dumping raw fuel out

Sure, those engines are interesting, and yes, I'm sure they truly love them, but sitting there, including the old gentleman on a walker, sucking in those fumes for all they're worth is not the best choice for having a healthy day. But, I guess it is OK as long as you can get outside before you pass out from asphyxiation. Some guys get together for a cup of coffee, others go for a round of golf, and then there are others that hang around the engine shop. Good times.

Smoke due to cold weather? Yeah, right. It's white smoke - unburnt fuel, right to the end of the video. One cylinder is not firing - you can hear it in the exhaust rhythm - ba-bok ... ba-bok ... ba-bok. It is abuse to run an engine like that, and very unhealthy for humans.
