I just bought some black jack piraracu black boots. They seemed dry and conditioned them after the firts wear. I love how soft and cool the leather is. I’m in southern cal and it was hot out today. I got a compliment the firts day out wearing them. I bought a smaller scale baby pirarucu.

I currently own 10 pairs of boots.
I love boots and wear them everywhere. I work construction so I consistently wear out a pair of work cowboy boots every year. My favorite cowboy boots for work wear have been of late Double HH boots

I like them boots
I've never cared how my boots turn out as long as they are conditioned. They are going to change color whether it's from conditioning or age.
I have 18 pairs of all kinds of leather and toes, I think I need to add some of those pirarucus to my collection. But I like them with a more smoother look like the ones I've seen on the Yeehaw cowboy sight. That's when I really started liking em. I like those too though I love that toe. But not when they are too raggady looking.
Just avoid the inverted pairs if you want a more smooth look.

I have no idea why but my fellow Mexican peeps LOVE the fish skin boots, especially in the wide square toe. My best guess is it's a newer "exotic" skin so it's technically more expensive than a normal ranch boot and it's eye-catching.

I have some real pirarucu and got them all covered in mud after the rodeo. I know they will be damaged but any recommendations on how to clean the mud off properly without hurting them ??

Who said you can't tune a fish! Pirarucu is probably the most unique leather in boots & I have to find myself a pair in snip or 7 toe!. 👍

I use it on my lizard skin Dan Post am I black Tony llamas and I just rub it in with my hands and then I take a a a cloth rag and I give him a good buff

When I got mine boots at boot barn said to only use exotic leather conditioner. This was on for my new dan poast dorsal sea bass boot small scale. I have what you used on this video, are they just trying to sell me products? Or is there really a different in formulas?
There are different formulas but Bick 4 just works with a bunch of different types of leathers including exotics. Exotic conditioner would work fine too

Thanks Mike! There's two different styles of pirarucu scales for boots. The inverted which is more flaky looking and regular which is smoother looking but still has the diamond shapes

What’s the name for the boot?
Say I get these dirty.. like, more then just in need of a brush. Do you suggest a cleaner to use? New too these fish leathers.
I'm not a big fan of using cleaners on exotics because they dry out the leather. When I get my exotics really dirty or muddy I wait for them to dry and then still use a brush to get all the dirt off. Maybe I'll use a brush with stiffer bristles like a plastic brush to knock off all that dirt then use a rag to brush all the rest off. After I've done my best to remove all the dirt, I'll condition

I’m surprised you can use Bick4 on that… my uncle uses Bickmore Exotic on all his non-cow/buffalo leather. And yeah I test conditioner on the inner part of the pull tab.
I'm not surprised anymore about the versatility of Bick 4 haha. I use it so much I have extra new bottles around I didn't even know about!
I also use the exotic on my piraruco and rattlesnake

Hey Scott! That's very similar to the Randall that I did a video on recently. The difference is that the Luke looks to have toe in cut fq ostrich and stitching on the shaft rather than inlay. Is Fish Skin Leather more waterproof？because it's a fish. Just curious.
Not at all unfortunately
Pirarucu fish have really hard armored scales, which have been removed before being turned into boots, so alas, the waterproofing is gone! I think they soak up MORE water than some leathers, actually…
So is bick 4 more ideal and better than bick exotic?
