I live in MA and have been to Salem a few times around Halloween and it is soooo crowded!! You can hardly move. Forget about getting a table for any meal, standing in lines that go around buildings to get into stores and exhibits, lots of time wasted waiting. Great idea to go off season and be able to enjoy it more!
Awww...so glad you and your bestie enjoyed Salem. It is fun during off times. Ive been there several times and became friends with a lady who had been one of the official tea leaf readers there for over 55 years. She retired and passed away not long ago. One of my favorite shops to go in is The Silversmith shop....its almost too much to take in if you collect stones and crystals. Its fun to get off the beaten paths there and take in the water ways. There is a small area of beach that was always fun at the wharf, along with going in the antique shop. 🔮 Oh yeah, Red's is the best!---you can't eat it all. 😋
I cannot agree with you more about John and The Witchboard Museum! My husband and I went on my birthday last December and had a wonderful time. It was my favorite place in Salem, too! Thanks for the video, now I have a few more places in mind to visit next time.
I’m lucky to live close enough that Salem is an easy daytrip but I will NEVER go often enough to satisfy my spooky heart 🖤 so glad you enjoyed your trip!
Omg! Thank you for this video! Makes me re-lived our trip last May 2022. I want to go back so mad! We were there a whole week! And still not enough time! Wish I would had got that Halloween 3 witch board! My Mom and I with to the Witchery. I just bought a broom. Mom got her broom making stuff to go. . Reds is definitely the best place for breakfast and there Bloody Mary's are delicious! Food at that little Italian restaurant is 🤌🏻 yummy! Spring is definitely a good time to go! Hopefully I'll get to go back again!
Oh, I visited Salem a few years ago and I had such a great time seeing all the locations for Hocus pocus. But I think what a lot of people forget to keep in mind is that all of those people that were killed. None of them were actually witches so for many people it is the location of martyrdom if you stop and think of it but what a fascinating place Salem is I can't wait to have another opportunity to go back. I love the shops, especially the emporium and thoroughly modern Milly I think is the name of the place. So fun and the food was so great
I think I was there at the same time as you and the first day there was MISERABLE weather! 😂 Loved Red’s the most too. And I would’ve lived at Essex NY Pizza in Witch City Mall when I was a teen. Great vibes all round.
It’s the only time to go, honestly. I love how beautiful the House of the Seven Gables garden is during summer and spring. I should drive up soon before September hits.
It is a beautiful city. I was just there this past weekend. There is history, great food, amazing shops, beautiful old architecture, and fun stuff to do at night. I bought myself a few goodies from The Black Veil, Witch City Wicks, 1925 (a sister store of Emporium 32), and Blackcraft! I live in southeastern MA so I am about a 90 min drive away.
Next time you go, make sure to take the Witch Walk tour, it’s run by Crow Haven Corner. You get to participate in a spell and do a nice tour of the city, I’ve done it twice and both times learned something new.
Thank you so much for this video. My bestie and I will be going in less than 2 weeks! This was the perfect video for reference. Unfortunately the broom making class is full til November but I will be purchasing the kit and will take up your idea on sending it back. Maybe I can try for a witch hat making class…that’d be fun too.
Walk these streets daily and it’s so cool to see from someone else’s perspective! You miss things sometimes too in just the day to day … come back soon!! 🖤🖤
We went a year and a half ago a month before Halloween and everything was decorated already! We stayed at The Hawthorn Hotel(spooky history there). The place ya all stayed at looked amazing! Loved that trip for sure.
Salem is on my bucket list along with New Orleans. Thank you so much for taking us with you!!! That looked like SO much fun and you and your beautiful friend have some special souvenirs to mark that memory. The place you stayed is incredible 😱 I’m a sucker for old architecture lol ❤❤❤
Its soo crazy two of my fellow UA-camrs i follow went to Salem seems around the same time and posted video's tne same day about it lol You and Pumpkin and Gray ☺️
I love visiting this magical little town in the off season...Reds is the first place I go for the amazing breakfast! Also, fun fact! Turners Seafood restaurant is rumored to have been built on land that belonged to Bridget Bishop and was once her apple orchard!
LOVE this amazing tour of all my favorite spots in my favorite town!! thank you so much for visiting us at nocturne, it was so incredible to meet you and ghoul out with you! 👻💋🪦🧡
This new video flew by!! What a fabulous Salem trip!🖤👻 I can only imagine the vibe visiting all the spooky shops and sights. Loved the great things you brought home, and I absolutely adore that dress that you found!! 👻🖤✨🌹💀🧹🎃🦇
Hi Midge! I just wanted to say that I just adore you and your fun and kind personality, your super cute outfits and home decor, and your content. It was fun to live vicariously through you for this trip until I get the chance to go there myself. Thanks for sharing!
It was so refreshing to see this Salem trip. My friends and I went in October one year and it was a horrible experience. I think it would be refreshing to go during the spring to actually get to enjoy some of what Salem has to offer. This video did make me remember some of the sights which was a great reminder of the friend trip.
what a fun trip! I want to go for my birthday in Oct. thanks for sharing, Ive never been so it's nice to see some of the neat places to visit. I found a vintage wood board from the 60s recently at Goodwill thrift store. Seeing all the old boards was cool.
I actually love The Howling Wolf. We went twice and also recommended it to my sister when she went a few months after me. I last went to Salem in November. I love it there! We stay at the Hawthorne and just walk everywhere.
I absolutely loved this vlog / haul! I visited Salem after my mom passed in 2014 and it was an absolutely magical healing experience. It was lovely "revisiting" some of the locations when you went there yourself! Your besom turned out amazing and I am excited for 'baby's first ouija' haha!
I very much enjoyed this video, Midge! I took notes. I stopped in Salem for a few hours on October 14th 2022 and, you aren't kidding! It was insane, crowd wise. You *did* have the town to yourself! I would like to go back when I have more time.
I live in Australia and I have been to Salem twice. I felt like I had gone home when I arrived. Such a beautiful place. I would love to go back (Or move there!). Loved your vlog.
I've been to turner's seafood restaurant, and the food was outstanding, but it was really weird like I loved it and everything was fine for me, but for some strange reason my boys and one was deathly ill a few hours after he eats only sick for like the remaining day. I was almost like he got food poisoning or something but I thought the food was amazing and I love Salem.
Thank you for sharing . We are going the end of September, have already booked classes for broom making and book making ! So excited and thank you for some more suggestions to go to and eat at ! 👻
This is the content of Salem I love to see. Of course Halloween season looks amazing but it’s nice to see the town when it’s not crazy crowded. I dream of the day when I can get to Salem 🎃. I also really liked the music you chose for this video. Putting this video in my favorites list for sure ❤
I live nearby and my cousin lives on the wharf so, I like to visit often. If you didn’t get a chance to stop, the Salem mall is a blast from the past and there are a couple cool shops and haunted houses in there. The Peabody Essex Museum is really nice but, not aimed specifically towards the witch trials or Salem history. Also, Goodnight Fatties for cookies and Gula Gula for coffee, you won’t be disappointed. It’s also noteworthy that Salem is very LGBTQ+ friendly and North Shore Pride is held there every year. If you go during October then you won’t want to miss Haunted Happenings in the park, sooo many talented artists and scenes from Hubie Halloween were filmed there 🎃
Omg, I'm so happy you went here! We have a girls' trip that we do every year (and this time, it will be my bachelorette in august!😆). Reds by far is our favorite breakfast spot, but if you are going during busy season, prepare to wait. Blackcraft is my friends new favorite, and emporium 32 is my favorite store ( I love getting my sealing wax for my letters here). A few recommendations not listed: 1. The Village Silversmith is my friends favorite shop. Great jewlery, and they tell you what each stone is used for 2. Omen/hex are two shops also on new Orleans and cater more to different types of craft. I love their spell bath bombs. 3. The covens cottage does not allow recording or photos, but their stuff is awesome for green witches/nordic/celtic things. 4. Salem ink and art gallery is where we got our matching tattoos, and we loved the art and the service they had. 5. Trolley Depot is a great place to look aside from the obviously branded souvenir shops for other people. 6. Salem Waterfront is a great hotel, but rooms fill up super quick, durring busy season. Maybe when I go I'll see you there!
One of the memorial bench you saw is in memory of actor Scott Speedman's ancestor. Who was the last man excuted for Witchcraft. I saw this on the series "Who Do You Think You Are"
I truly enjoyed the tour of Salem it is such a beautiful place and you did an excellent job capturing Salem in all its glory and the places you ate at had such nice decor also what made walking around Salem and enjoying the sights was the music you added it truly went so well as you talked about about each of the places we visited so thanks so much Salem is truly a beautiful place also all the souvenirs you got were amazing and it looks like you got a treasure chest of goodness now I’m so happy you had such a wonderful trip and thanks for sharing it now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Midge and I’ll see you on the next awesome Midge Munster video peace ☮️ out ✌️🎃👻☠️
Great video! We are headed to Salem for the first time this fall. Would you mind sharing where you purchased your black dress that you are wearing with the Bewitched statute, and your cobweb top/dress? So cute!
Hi Midge I am new here! This is my first time seeing your video. I was so shocked and in aww that you are just like me all about halloween and vintage. I am in heaven here. Thank you for sharing.
Oh man, I am travelling to Salem in September and you’ve hit up ALL the places I plan to check out, right down to Salem Ink! I really appreciate this video!
I use to live outside Portland Maine. I could drive to Salem in about 90 minutes. I got to experience Halloween there multiple times. I also got opportunities to visit other than Halloween. Whether you go for Halloween or any other time of year, Salem is a great seaport city accessible by foot with lots of history, shopping, dining, and of course witchcraft! 🧙♀️
I love this so much!! I've always dreamt of visiting Salem and I'm hoping to be able to do so soon!!! All of the places you mentioned and visited sounding so so amazing, but I think The Witchery and being able to build a broom is the thing I loved the most.
I live in MA and have been to Salem a few times around Halloween and it is soooo crowded!! You can hardly move. Salem is my favorite place to visit ever ,3 or 4 times a year 💙

You guys looked so cute for your birthday bash weekend!
I visited Salem in 2021 we stay at the Hawthorne Hotel. So much fun!
I literally stumbled across your vlog n glad I did. U r enchanting. Living in Boston I love to go to Salem! U did a great tour! New subscriber😆
Salem is on my bucket list.
Thanks for highlighting the eateries. Most creators skip that to talk more about shops and tourist spots. But I'm all about the food too.
🧡🧡🧡🧡Great video 🧡🧡the broom
It’s the only time to go, honestly.

Love the witch board! The broom is awesome!❤⁷
I’m from Salem and I’m terrified of The Witch Board Museum. I’m slightly more terrified however that you didn’t love The Howling Wolf!
Awesome video! I appreciated the narration. Can’t wait to take my daughter some day!
