Rust: Build This Round Base Interior Featuring Sunken Floor With Fireplace
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 тра 2022
- The round base in Rust is not rocket science. But adding this sunken floor and fireplace gives the interior a cozy feel.

The way you leave time for people to understand and don't rush anything is great.
It's also a very Cozy Base that leaves a lot of creativity to the Builder.
Thank you for that :)
Thanks for watching!
my left ear loves this
Thanks. 😆 This problem with the audio taught me to always record my voiceover in mono.
Coming back to say that this is my go-to base design as a solo. Storage is never an issue, and it's built very well
Thank you
not only is this base beautiful, it's fortified and cozy . 10/10 I'm subbing
Thanks.
It really isn't though. Could raid it with very few rockets
@@Vauxeyit could be though just be an engineer
Mannn. I’ve been watching base building videos for years and first time I’ve seen the stone barricade in honeycomb trick. Excellent video! Also your narration is great. I feel like I’m watching bob Ross show us how to build a base.
Thanks man! Speaking of Bob Ross...I have a few Bob Ross inspired videos of painting in Rust. Please check them out as well in my Rust playlist.
Lowkey they just gonna rocket wall behind that will break anyways so kinda pointless but he has good intentions
the most polite rust video
Thanks for watching.
man I really wish there was more videos like yours! It's just what i'm looking for I love it ty
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Love the base. Love the build speed. Love the simplicity if your explanation and reasoning behind why ur doing certain things. New subscriber
Thank you!
As being new to rust and this being my fifth wipe ever I used this base and it became one of the most enjoyable wipes ever. I traded the sunken floor for a spot for a large furnace being able to jump from room to room with the furnace overhangs making their no need for a compound for large furnace
Wtf the stone barricade thing is insane
I don't know why no one else seems to use them. It can get expensive for a solo I suppose, but I often watch UA-camrs that are loaded with farm by the end of the video. They could have afforded it. Thanks for watching!
What a great base design going to make one now Thank you and yes I subscibed and sending out this design to my Rust steam friends
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I’m trying this, i love the simplicity of this base!
Thanks for watching
hi chuck just watched the whole video, this is exactly the kind of base ive been looking for decently strong while not to expensive and you also get thoose cozy wiljum vibes, 10/10 you earned yourself a sub :3
Thanks David!
@@ChuckHaney im trying it out this wipe on the 6th ive been tinkering with it a little so i made all the loot cubbies into sealed bunkers with conveyers coming out into a central dump/retrieval box cant wait to see peoples reaction when they try to raid me and realize my loot is behind 4 honeycombed hqm bunkers lol
@@davidbogren4768 Very nice! One of my intentions with this video was to inspire others to be creative with it. Although I showed people how to build it, my focus was on the interior and the coziness of it all. I left the second floor and outer honeycomb up to the viewer. So, I'm always happy to hear comments about how people are being creative with this build. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Good luck on your wipe!
I lived in this Base a full month on PS5. And i really liked the Base. Not because its the biggest, Wide Gap, Multi TC, China Wall with 200 Turrets Meta Base but because its a cozy but tanky solo base. And i really liked the Slow Speed Video. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Very cool base design ngl.
subbed
Thanks!
wow. i've never seen a base that godly designed. easy to defend, looks good... amazing. im subbing.
I'm glad you like it. Thanks for watching!
this video gives me ASMR tingles
lol. Thanks. I think. 😄
Using this design and just building off it is cool
Thanks.
well this is refreshing , well done sir
Thanks for watching!
omg wow i will definitely use it for next wipe
Thanks for watching.
@@ChuckHaney hey man i just built the base and got absolutely smoke cause i made someone play the chippy challenge the only thing left was the base they said they can't destroy this work of art
holy shit this is the most underrated tutorial ive ever seen, excellent design, directions, clarity, and editing! great job! :D=
Damn. Thanks man! I'm working on a new one. Please stay tuned.
@@ChuckHaney built it today on a solo only 3x and it’s SUPER nice to live out of, adding industrial lights in every room + the main hexagon really helps too

Thank you, and thanks for watching.
Great design for solo
Thanks for watching!
Awesome build tutorial! I might try this myself sometime!
Thanks Justin.
how did you place your walls between the higher and lower foundations? I'm getting "too close to another building" error D:
I think that means you are too close to a monument or some other thing in the game that you aren't allowed to build on.
my left ear loved this video
Not sure how that happened but I now record all voiceover in mono to avoid that problem in the future. Thanks for watching.
PS: Listen again on reversed headphones so you your right ear isn't left out. 🙃
VERY VERY NICE, but and thanks for bulding slow, so we can acutully see, but i seems like i cant put a floor above the first baricades
Make sure you have a half wall to snap to. There needs to be a half wall somewhere to snap the floor to. Once you have one floor placed you can snap the remaining floors to that floor. Try starting the floor near the fireplace. If I remember correctly there is a half wall there.
Nice base just built it with a incorporated bunker alot of play room 10/10 for a solo
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Really cool my base is so cool and at nite it lights up my turrets with flashlights lights up my tower all the way around you should see it's like art you gotta see I even screen shotted my fortress
Its cool and cozy, if you play for fun in a duo or group, but as a solo i would not recommended it
It also works well on low decay servers. I play on a PVE/PVP server with 10% decay. I can easily make this with 2 floors and full armored.
Works really well on a 3x, even a 2x would be good
Probably a dumb question, but how to do you keep the TC secure? I at 4:30 you mention putting it in the corner and "walling it off later," which I do indeed see a wall there later lol but then how do you access it? (Also awesome base idea btw, I'm not a hardcore Rust player, but can't wait to try this one out!)
I was playing on a low upkeep server, so it was pretty easy for me to farm up enough stuff to last the rest of the wipe. Thanks for your question and the kind words, and thanks for watching!
@@ChuckHaney Idk if this reply was meant for someone else's comment lol but I was just curious how you access the TC after walling it off?
@@andrewmeeker3624 the comment was meant for you but I suppose I left out some important information. I have always walled off the TC when I've made this build. But I also have only made this base on servers with low upkeep and that are PVE with only one week of PVP at the end of the wipe. On a server with 10% upkeep it's pretty easy to farm up all the wood, stone, metal frags, and HQM that I need for the entire wipe. Once I have that loaded in the TC I wall it off as I will not need to access it again. Thanks for watching.
@@ChuckHaney Ahhh gotcha! That makes sense. Thanks for the reply/clarification!
How do you cover the open areas between the raised foundations and the lower center foundation in the middle? I dont want to see ground underneith each room? I dont know what im doing wrong. I try to cover this area and it says cant build here,.
It's been awhile so I don't remember exactly but I'm sure it was either floor pieces or lowered foundations. If floor/ceiling pieces aren't working, try foundations. A foundation should snap to the foundation that the fireplace is on. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll hop on to a build server and see if something has been changed by facepunch.
The very first thing you do is place those pieces. 0:16
I tried again and I still cant get the open gaps between the triangle and raised floor foundations covered, im not sure whats going on, im new to building.
@@DarkNightDreamer about to go to sleep right now but maybe tomorrow night I can show you on a build server. I'm still not 100% sure what you mean.
Is there more basr design but with this same kinda build
Nice 😊
Thanks for watching!
Come on Thursday! This is my next base design!! Love it! #LazyRusters #mediokrman
Thanks and have fun!
How do I get rust - Just for the basebuilding? Does the game have a sandbox mode?
There are build servers and there are PVE servers with no PVP or very limited PVP.
@@ChuckHaney thank you. Ill be joining
how much is the upkeep and what's the total material that it takes to make the base? ples help me
I used to build this on a 10% decay server so I'm not really sure what the upkeep is. Someone asked awhile back about the material to build and I answered them. I'll go and find that information and repost it as my next comment.
Here's my answer to another viewer that had the same questions: The finished build in this video was purposely left vague as it was mostly focused on the interior. I have this build saved on Fortify so I can give you some idea. The build saved on Fortify is a two-story base with two layers of honeycomb filled with stone barricades. Since Fortify counts the stone used to make barricades as part of the cost, I cannot give you an accurate stone upgrade cost. I'll give you estimates on several different versions of a finished base: A one story base with two layers of honeycomb would cost about 11K to make as twig. 5K wood to upgrade. 6K metal to upgrade. 150 HQM to upgrade. The stone count is off because of all the barricades. With barricades it shows 77K stone. The actual stone upgrade is probably in line with the wood and metal upgrades.
A two-story base with two layers of honeycomb (one layer on the second floor) would cost about 25K to make twig. 10.6K wood to upgrade. 10K metal to upgrade. 160 HQM to upgrade.
Great tutorial, 10/10 (Left Ear) 0/10 (Right Ear)
I'm not sure why this happens but I've found a workaround for future videos. I can record my voiceover in mono. I'd love to fix this but nothing seems to work.
@@ChuckHaney
its all good man, i'm just kidding

Yeah. Sorry about that. I now record all voiceover in mono to avoid that. Thanks for watching and subscribing. It's much appreciated!
Where did you get the chair from
You can craft the chair. It's made with workbench level one.
amazing but very very expensive upkeep if not playing on a low upkeep server
Willjum needs to do this
That would be great!
my left headphone enjoyed your voice
Thanks Wesley. Please give my apologies to your right ear. 😁 But fear not! I now record all my voiceover in mono to guard against this problem in the future. Thanks for watching!
How do you cover the holes in the floor????
I'm not sure what you mean. There are no holes in the floor.
I had the same problem, the game wont let me place the peices to cover it up because a wall cant touch a foundation like that. He didnt cover that part in the video and skipped right over it
Not sure what you guys are talking about. There are no holes in the floor. There is nothing to cover up. The floor in the center is 6 triangle foundations as shown in the video. The other floors are square foundations. This is shown in the first few minutes of the video. Can either of you explain what you mean with some detail? Thanks.
I think they mean the half wall pieces that sit between the floor and the raised foundations. In your video, one minute they are blank, next minute they are filled with half stone walls. I think the building mechanics have changed recently as I had the same problem. I had to demolish the floor on the raised foundations, build the half wall and then place the floor again. Great video though! @@ChuckHaney
@@xTMGx Can you timestamp what are talking about? Just reply to this comment with the time of the video - If you never done it before one minute and one second would be 01:01
Thanks.
Nice vid but for those who use headphones can only hear you in left side
Thanks man. I've noticed this when playing Rust. The sound on my right side is muffled. I'm not sure how to fix it. But the narration was done with Audacity. Anyway, thanks for the reminder. I'll look into this again today.
I think this might be a problem with your headphones, I use headphones and can hear everything fine on either side.
@@zechn0323 that's weird. Because I hear what he hears. My voiceover is only on the left side. I'm not sure why this happens.
Can you please create a new video of this base, just upgraded? I find it hard to build this base as a starter, is there any way to make this base and gradually upgrade it? PLEASE MAKE A 2.0, YOU'RE THE BEST! This is the coziest base of them all!
I've actually been thinking about doing that. I'll hop on a server today and start messing with some ideas. Thanks for watching.
@@ChuckHaney I'm patiently waiting and crossing my fingers! I love this base so much. Please focus on how you can build one from the start of wipe in steps. For this version I need to get so much stuff in order before building it...
@ChuckHaney You are meant for this truly! The way you explain everything and show the process step by step is incredibly enjoyable to watch. Also your editing is super clean. I'm hoping you come back to rust!

How much does the initial build cost
Depends on what you mean. The finished build in this video was purposely left vague as it was mostly focused on the interior. I have this build saved on Fortify so I can give you some idea. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I CAN ONLY HEAR YOU ON THE LEFT EAR HELP
Sorry. Don't know what happened there but now I record all my voiceover in mono. It won't happen again sir, or madam.
It looks good, but you provided no analysis of the raiding costs.
Rocket splash can be used to destroy all six doors at the same time.
Breaching from above, raiders can open 2 loots squares + access to the core for the price of a single stone wall.
What is the purpose of this base? If it's meant to look nice and be a basic defence from the outside word, it's ok. BUt provide a justification as to why you would compromise on raid cost. Ease of access and fun are valid arguments.
This base was designed primarily for PVE servers. The purpose of the video was to inspire interior design ideas. I have a breakdown of the build costs in the comments section. As far as raid costs go you can determine that from watching the build.
As far as access from the roof I do mention the option of putting on a second floor, I just didn't show one being built in the video.
This wasn't designed for normal servers, but I'm working on a 2.0 version of this base in which I will show how to create a starter base that can grow into the finished Round Base. I will also create the base so that raid cost will be the same from any angle of attack.
Thanks for watching.
@@ChuckHaney Good, you got the gist of it. Make it concie and add it to the video. Your video is already on a good start. time to finish it.
