Mike, I love your videos! I think you missed the mark on which is the best, #1 does it for me. I fly paramotors, so I know that weather is going to be an even bigger factor for #5. I would buy a Terrafugia Transition today if it were available. I can't wait. I found your channel while looking around due to the excitement of getting my pilots license. I am around 20 hours in and looking forward to getting my own plane someday. Your videos have been helpful in guiding me on which planes to look into. Thanks for all your hard work, I enjoy them and find that I re-watch often. Take care
I think death rates will soar. This is a horrible idea. One flying car isn't bad. But fill the sky with people on their way to work that are running late and disaster will strike.
Not sure, because the price tags of these vehicles will probably range to about 40,000-100,000 Dollars. If you think about that, only a few people will have these vehicles, making death rates rare.
@@patrickkiarie1451and that's why the FAA and other world flying organizations won't ever allow regular civilian flying en masse. Look at drivers in the US, absolute buffoons. Even orangutans can drive with no problem yet the buffoons in the US can't drive, always cause traffic because they don't know how to drive more than 5mph in a densely packed road or highway and constantly cause traffic. And sky cops? Yea no cops belong on the ground, they're too dumb to be pilots. We don't need pigs ruining flying too. Not that you can pull anyone over in the air.
My only issue with tf-x...It flys for you, AWESOME! So in an emergency situation we're screwed? I mean come on we have to know how to fly it in case you can't land anywhere or whatever
The production terrafugia us nothing like the one in the video. The PAL-V seems like the best and safest design. Especially if the top blade acts like a gyro.
The first one doesn't classify under any circumstance as an autogyro, it is a VTOL aircraft (vertical take off and landing). Anautogyro has an unpowered rotor which is in autorotation (meaning that is is basically a windmill) that creates lift just as a normal wing, this configuration is capable of achieving shorter take off and landing distances than a normal general aviation plane but faced against a jacked up STOL cub from Alaska with double slotted flaps and LE slats it's either on par or worst. Also im am very skeptical of those tiny wings being sufficient , it may be able to fly at 200mph but when a motor will fail and you have to land like a normal plane i dont think it will be a very pleasant experience.
Sure you do....But you will only be able to fly it from airfield to airfield. Then a full safety check before you fly. you will only be able to use limited air corridors avoiding built up areas, there is nowhere sae to land in cities. You will need a pilots licence. Better off buying a nice car and a aeroplane for much less cash.
Enjoyed the video. Not sure about the legality of flying an aircraft without a pilot's licence though. I think you'll need to have a pilot's licence to fly one for the foreseeable future at least. Also, the concept is not a new one. There have been a few attempts at flying cars, dating back to around 1935, where the Autogyro (Autogiro?) Company of America produced a flying prototype it called the AC-35. However, today's prospects are much closer to reality.
Just relatively speaking, a lot of these are still in concept phase and these companies are counting on having these vehicles as a product for the masses which would be almost impossible since most people don't know how to fly. More than likely though if any of these were to be mass produced today, some type of certification will be required to operate them safely.
In order to be a "flying car" it have to be, a car, and fly. TBH, i only see 1 car here (the number one) second one is more like a "hidden wings" plane, the other 3 doesnt even deserve any comments. maybe two of them are something like 4x4 motorcycles? I see only one real option in this video.. 1st one.
The Terrafugia would require the same category rating as the V22 Osprey. Yes there is a civilian equivalent of the military version. The FAA designates this category rating as "powered lift". It is a separate rating from rotor wing or fixed wing.
If Nature wanted you to fly you would have been born with wings, With that being said, I will keep my feet on the ground, Not to mention half the people can't drive to begin with,I can't imagine what they would be like driving something that fly's.
I like some of your videos there have a fresh look at aviation, you’re not doing enough research before you narrate the videos. As a commercial multi-engine instrument rated pilot I commend you on becoming a pilot, but the maverick is not an airplane, it’s not in the airplane category, it’s in the ultralight category more like a PPC or powered para chute. Not an airplane at all. Btw I’m not a hater, just because I want you do better videos!
I don't get it. Why people want it so bad for a car to be able to fly, why you use the word "car" when it actually look like helicopter or air plane. Actually we are having "plane that can be drived like a car" shit n stuff here.
So this is basically a plane. I thought it was gonna be like an actual hovering car. Imagine the hassle of trying to buy this car. You most probably have to pay for flying lessons. Your flying license. And then pay millions of dollars just to get the damn car. Honestly I don’t think buying a plane built like a car is that worth it.
Only ppl with tons of 💰, would be able to afford 1, spare 🚫 expense. I myself, wouldn't want 1, if I had the $. I'm deathly afraid of heights, and it's definitely 🚫 my style. I couldn't even be a passenger in 1 of these things.😂 I'm good on the ground, thank u very much. We still have to worry on the ground, and hope a motor doesn't' fail, and 1 of us gets clobbered by 1 of these things. I wonder who would be liable for that.😂
THIS IS WHERE ALL GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE HEADING!!! Yes, I typed in caps o get your attention. I have two words that should resonate in your brains: ROAD KILL. Think about all the senseless animal deaths that could be avoided if we humans can make this transition. Yes, there is the risk of bird mishaps, but birds are more nimble than raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, turtles, etc. I sincerely hope that, within the next 100 years, we can make this next transition and get away from the technology that has made road kill all too familiar and all too easy to gloss over. ALL LIFE MATTERS. ❤❤❤❤
Animal deaths?? I don't think animals are dying at an unmanageable rate, do you? I only know of one person that hit a deer, 12 years ago, and have never heard of another. Sure they happen, but it isn't like a daily thing where animals are seeking out vehicles to kill themselves on.... I am 54 years old, and have never heard of a problem except once, so it isn't like we are all going to die in a crash with a squirrel...
It takes time and training to be a pilot. These "vehicles" are a disaster waiting to happen. Air ways are all controlled , except possibly the great deserts, by ATC's who are extremely well educated to prevent fair crashes. It still looks neat to see these concepts which will have limited production and will be toys for deep pocket enthusiasts. Forget the Jetsons! Cheers, Rik
I don’t believe that the best flying car is the maverick like you say, why because you are just being held up by a parachute, real smart Fonzie, who in the daggum daggum wants to sit and fold that up half a day after you land, maybe for fun, that be cool. But dude if they could make one I’d pick the 1st one, the Terrafugia Transition that is freaking daggum daggum, sweet. I always knew that the Chinese people were smart, Daggum rednecks having fun. But for real that’s awesome. He be like Aw Chaw Chaw you no do it right, you mucky uppy. 👍🤣
