I personally love „American Life“. It’s incomparable. It’s art. I can’t listen to it all the time but it is as relevant as it was (almost) 20 years ago. The songs aren’t easy to perform live and I think you could tell a bit in the performance. But that’s okay. For me it’s mostly about what she wants to tell the world. I wish we could appreciate her intelligence and art more
I really like “American Life” and considering what came after - excluding “Confessions On A Dance Floor” - it’s quite an album. In my opinion “Hard Candy” was when she started to follow instead to lead trends, “MDNA” was very generic, “Rebel Heart” a waste of potential expecially the stuff with Avicii that sound so date even as a demos not to mention “Madame X”.
I don't care what any haters say, Madonna can sing. Beautiful woman too.

It was too acoustic of an album. American Life should’ve been a rock album
