  • This is the new Peugeot 208 GTI by Peugeot Sport and as the name suggests, Peugeot Sport has been responsible for it. Powered by a 205 BHP 1.6 litre turbocharged engine capable of 0-62MPH in just 6.5 seconds. After the success of the 30th anniversary GTI those same upgrades have been made to the standard car. A Torsen limited slip differential, lowered suspension, and more powerful Brembo brakes all feature. Can this hot hatchback live up to its GTI name? We find out in this review.

    205hp from a 1.6 with a turbo, what a great time to live!

      +paliccolo Haha! Wasn't that a similar line to what I used in the Type R review video.

    I absolutely love mine. I swapped mine briefly for an ordinary 208 gti but within a month, I swapped it back to the ps version.
    Amazing round corners!

      +moonsmilelucide Maybe a bit more driving fun with scenes where you push the pedal a bit.

      +moonsmilelucide I'm glad you liked the video. We do have to be careful where the car is driven in a more "spirited" manor.

    It just looks bloody, bloody, bloody amazing! The french make their hot hatches stand out from the standard models. If you look at the Golf, with the exception of the clubsport they all look the same and a Golf R could be a small diesel as well if it wasn't for some specific body colours of the quad-exhaust. Which is unnecessary. And a piece of advice for the film crew: Buy a 50£ steadicam, it'll work wonders on some of your shaky shots.

      +fikes73 It is a great car. I'm not sure what the deal is with Citroen and Peugeot in America?

    Personally I'd prefer the original GTI as in the VW GTI. Saying that this is a close second. Great car 🤤

    Hi,
    is it worth spending more and going for the 308gti 270 by PS against the 208gti by PS.
    However the 308gti is in Golf R land and Seat Leon Cupra
    what you think:))

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 років тому

      308 GTI is a bigger car, so depends what you need. Personally I enjoy driving the 208 GTI more.

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 років тому

      +FOUADN72 This car is now the only 208 GTI Peugeot sell. Last year we did a video on the previous model year which I think is what you are referring to. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/N8Yb7dywNUQ/v-deo.html

    If you hit a low or tall bump the diff will split thats why you
    need aAWD with that Torque.

    id stick to the regular GTI, dont like the paint work on this one

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  5 років тому +3

      You don't have to have this paint. The 'By PeugeotSport GTI' is significantly better than the model it replaced.
