I love hearing all the stories behind the covers. Amazing. I would kill for a documentary like fully flared and bones brigade documentary about zero's inception and video projects.
Before I clicked, I laughed and said "He's probably had about 30 covers" (exaggerating)... but then I clicked, and he's actually had about 30 covers. 😂
I was thinking the same thing. One of the most decorated skateboarder ever. I hit play and the opening scene of all the mags he made the cover. Way more than I imagined. I was thinking maybe 10. I was way off ...
The 1st, real skate video that I ever watched was "Welcome to Hell" and I'm a big fan of everyone in that video, still....especially Jamie. I also had his 16 set smith grind tech deck as a preteen. Such a legendary dude!
I remember Jamie being at Pacific Drive telling Jeremy Wray on the shop phone about that 21 stair in La Jolla. He ended up telling me the story of that photo with Sturt and where the rail was and being a 90s skate nerd I got in my civic and went and found it and just looked at it in awe.I think it was like a private tennis club or something. Also fun fact: the Thrasher cover at the top middle closest to him was a rail on the front of Chad Knight and Dave Mayhew's old apartment complex (but long after those guys lived there).
When i was a kid I bought a Pacific Drive tshirt from him outta the back of his car at a Top Ten Shoes demo when he had a broken arm after coming back from the Adio Europe tour. Later on he became my boss at Black Box. Strange World. pun intended.
Hey LBL i just wanted to say thank for helping me get ahold of a copy of Europe 2000, i got it in a protector and on a display lol sounds silly but its one of those personal things with huge importance. Also JT is goated, this whole video i could thps1 music in my head 🤘
i had an invisible with spock and chewbacca playing chess, i believe it was a laban pheidas pro model. i thought the graphic was cool, but the board broke within 15 minutes of skating in 2 places, right behind front and back trucks.
Love him or hate him he is just undeniable. Stick to his guns. 💀 The legend says he was the kid from toy story, and Billy Corgan made the song Zero inspired by Jamie Thomas. (Ok no)
You obviously put a lot of hard work and thought into this channel. You're getting bigger and bigger guests, and at 17 minutes in, this has to be one of, if not the longest interview yet... But I can barely hear it!!! PLEASE take a couple hundred dollars and invest in a microphone! It will make your channel 10x better. At this point you are doing yourself and your subscribers a major disservice.
a mic would really add to the vids, also if the host is gonna join in the convo at all it would be nice to set up a tripod and let us see them. Really awesome idea for videos, its great to hear the pros talk on their covers and see your insane collection.
He had an interview where he referred to Thrasher as being, "blurry photos on crappy paper." Which, from '95 - '99, Transworld was the better publication as far as quality. They did have better photographers, which meant better photos, and the paper the mag was printed on was better. I remember Thrasher pages would smudge.
One of the GOATS , all my friends wanted to be like Jamie and zero late 90s. Cool vid thanks

I have 2/3 of those Limited Skateboarding covers. That was my favourite German mag back then.
Still have lots of Chief covers in Mint condition..very inspiring.. cheers Chief..Happy 50th❤
Thanks for this one... I would have liked to see more of the not so well known covers, not only TW and Thrasher.
What a Living Legend! Love you Jamie and thank you guys for this beautiful interview!

Question for Look Back Library: Who has had the most covers in skateboarding? It seems like it would be Jamie.
Was just about to ask the same question 😅
Jamie is at the top but it all depends on what parameters you set. It’s not an easily answered question.
The Chief!
I have a couple of CCS catalogs with Jamie on the cover; Winter 98 smith or feeble on a rail and back to school 01 big grass gap ollie
True. I didn’t include those or his tws biz covers.
Why is Christy Burlington on that first one? I don't get it.
Shout out brian seber lancaster pa. 🎉
The best! So underrated.

His legs lol I thought he was wearing long white socks until he mentioned it

My wet dream was a zero part with the song Zero... "Intoxicated by madness" 🤪
Haha oh my god that’s a crazy amount of covers. Jamie has the most covers of all?
It’s not an easy question to answer. But he is in the top 5 for sure.
F this Jamie. Where’s the Warsaw video dawg. Dropping shoes with no video?

All it needs is audio input levels adjusted
I said the same thing to him basically a few months ago. We’re just trying to help!

Eh, Phelps didn’t like him iirc.

Photo quality doesn’t matter. Phelps opinion did
