In about 2002,Hugh Grant appeared on BBC Breakfast. Hugh is obviously not a morning person. He was monumentally, but incredibly politely, curmudgeonly. It was a sight to see. Sadly, I've never seen any video of it anywhere.
I love Hugh Grant for being so absolutely unique in the acting world. I couldn't think of any other actor bringing the same kind of authenticity, wit, charm, weirdness and darkness to the table. His interviews always make my day.
I am surprised anyone approaches Hugh Grant at all. I walked right past him a couple of weeks ago right in the middle of Hyde Park and he had the biggest scowl you can imagine, like he hated the world. I believe he put it on on purpose so that people would leave him alone, it made me chuckle for the rest of my afternoon 😂😂😂
I guess that was the day that he stopped relishing his celebrity. "Hello, police, I'm being stalked by a giant hot dog. ..... No, I haven't a clue who it is. Send Colonel Mustard to the Library with the Candlestick immediately!"
Hugh Grant plays an epic villain.. Good God can he be bone chilling! Forgotten the name of the series but if I ever encounter Hugh Grant in the same room as a tub of Vaseline - I'm running away.
Yes, for some reason British actors can pull that off really well - and Hugh especially. When American actors try anything like that, they just end up looking like jerks. (And I say that as an American.)
It's definitely not the first time we see Hugh in a villainous role. What about Undoing, Cloud Atlas, granted he wasn't a murderer in but still pretty much a sleazebag in A Very English Scandal, The Gentlemen, heck even Bridget Jones...
One of my fondest memories is seeing Bridget Jones Diary with my mother in law who was the most amazingly fun woman to be with and her nickname for Hugh Grant at that time was "ol Blinky". The movie was fun because I saw it with her, and he was in it, but my favorite Hugh Grant film of all time has to be Lair of the White Worm! So proud of my daughter who is now an adult and loves Lair of the White Worm and even got a cool t-shirt to wear about town with a graphic of the villainess spitting venom onto the crucifix scene, as one does. So is two generations of ladies who like that movie a lot, even creepier than the guys who do? You decide!
It's been quite a while since I've last seen the cult classic, The Lair of the White Worm. Friends would get together to watch this silly movie because we loved how cheesy it was. Going watch it later today and reminisce on the good old days with my friends who have all gone their separate ways.
Yep! 1988 Lair of the White Worm!!! It’s technically listed as a horror comedy but very sexual. My memory around that movie involves me trying to watch it on cable in 1988 as a teenager without my parents finding out.
he was actually really good in the "D&D honor among thieves" movie. Delightfully devilish. looking forward to Heretic - hasn't premiered in Denmark yet...
My favourite Hugh Grant picture probably has to be Cloud Atlas. Such an underrated movie, and he was marvellous in it with his multiple roles. For those who haven't seen it, google 'hugh grant kona chief'.
Why does he look so uncomfortable???? .... like he is ill but rolled out of bed to do this .... come on cheer up youre getting paid .... most of us dont get paid over and above the work we do
So he considers one of his first films, Maurice, nonsense? Book by E.M. Forrester, produced by the Ivory Merchant team, it’s a spectacular commentary on Edwardian values and society. For shame Hugh, just because it’s a gay love triangle. James Wilby and Rufus Sewell starred as the other two lovers. Notable gents as well.
Jon Stewart said he was the worst guest he’d ever had on the Daily Show because he behaved like such an arsehole. To Hugh’s credit, he acknowledged that he probably _was_ an arsehole. I get the impression that talk shows and press junkets aren’t his favourite thing in the world!
We watched very different things, he was very funny here…well very is an exaggeration 😂 but he was compared to a lot of guests on shows like this who maybe have a lot more fake energy
I love how he IS naturally charming, but not in the way you’d expect. He’s a crotchety, self deprecating dude and I love him.

UA-cam knows the clip of bbc breakfast hugh grant exists 2002, but not available. 😅😂
Well, that's the British humour for you.
Sadly, I've heard that he's a nightmare to work with which is why he doesn't get much work now.
This is definitely the golden age for Hugh Grant’s acting career! I like that he’s an unashamed grump and that just adds to his genuine charm.
I love Hugh Grant for being so absolutely unique in the acting world. I couldn't think of any other actor bringing the same kind of authenticity, wit, charm, weirdness and darkness to the table. His interviews always make my day.
Just watch more British actors being interviewed in Britain. They are many charming, silly, kind, wonderful actors.
"Poor Colin. They're still wheeling him out" 😂 😂 😂
Love that they are the same age.
@@tammywilson985And that Hugh is a day older.
He is so naturally funny … can’t imagine the fun his children have with him around
Funny i thought exactly the same thing ❤
Love him and especially in About a Boy.. probably my favorite of his movies

"i love to be begged" had me 👀
It was "I have to be begged." Love that dry wit.
I love how Seth giggled for a moment in response
Maurice is still one of my favorite movies. Let’s give his early career proper credit.
That's funny, I love Seth and Hugh's face and humor...just now realizing they are doppelgangers...I guess I have a type 😊
It's their eyes.
Omg! Seth & Hugh look like brothers 😂
mr. grant looks alot like bill clinton
Seth would absolutely love that comment!
He's seems really happy and content. 😊
He was excellent in Sense and Sensibility, which remains one of the few comprehensively good adaptations of Austen. It was very well cast.
That's one of my favourite films, perfect casting, and the soundtrack too
I want a Hugh and Seth Daydrinking segment.
I guess that was the day that he stopped relishing his celebrity. "Hello, police, I'm being stalked by a giant hot dog. ..... No, I haven't a clue who it is. Send Colonel Mustard to the Library with the Candlestick immediately!"
I cannot wait to watch "Heretic "😍
It's a very good movie
@benbergin538 in Germany, we have to wait until December.. 😢
Definitely recommend!
nailed it. guy is hilarious. i forgot he was in paddington 2. thats a good movie. :)
Hugh Grant plays an epic villain.. Good God can he be bone chilling! Forgotten the name of the series but if I ever encounter Hugh Grant in the same room as a tub of Vaseline - I'm running away.
PLEASE go day drinking with Hugh Grant!!!
He was brilliant in Florence Foster Jenkins with Meryl Streep.
He never disappoints! That curmudgeon

@OriginalCaliKitty true .... But it's not hard for us to look like jerks lol

3:13 Seth involuntarily Tucker Carlson'd
😂😂😂

Better than lorazepam?, I don’t know about that lol 😂
That giggle during the paddington discussion was scarily like Tucker Carlson … yowser
Hugh Grant❤
Hugh Grant was very funny with Seth. Last time I saw him interviewed he seemed super grumpy.
Reminds me of Cary Grant.
Looove Hugh!
He was brilliant in Heretic, I hope he does more villains
Try & catch the BBC miniseries A Very English Scandal.
There's gotta be a movie plot in that hotdog story....
Maybe they will ketchup at the next comecon….
The hot dog was making him hurl. Hurley's Revenge.

Legend.
Seth is Hugh Grants younger , American , slightly less posh doppelganger.
Love Lair of the White Worm!

He's great, isn't he?
Yes.
Impromptu is my favorite Hugh Grant movie
Actually he's very "normal" in everyday situations, both feet to the ground. Once shared a good half hour riding a car!
So entertaining 🎉🎉🎉
Step aside Davy Crockett, let Hugh Grant smile down that Grizzly
These two men can communicate just with their hands
This guy could do an excellent Musk in a post apocalyptic movie that reflects on the horrific demise of the American experiment some months from now.
He may have only been in 1 horror film, but his mustache in Maurice is pretty nightmare-inducing.
The Lair of the White Worm is fucking camp and amazing! Young Hugh Grant and a Young Peter Capaldi! Watch it!
It’s really too bad he didn’t get to play Gilderoy Lockhart…
I imagined him as lockhart while reading the book years before the movie
Best Tony the Tiger EVAR!
Are seth's interviews usually this in-depth? Feels like james lipton
Why does he look so uncomfortable???? .... like he is ill but rolled out of bed to do this .... come on cheer up youre getting paid .... most of us dont get paid over and above the work we do
You're telling me Hugh Grant and Rebecca Ferguson were on this who one day apart? Lost an opportunity to book them the same day. If you know you know.
correction: he's actually done two previous horror films
That one horror film from his pre-romcom career must be The Lair Of The White Worm.
Edit: And he just mentioned it.
i always miss alan when i see hugh. not sure why really
Ahm.. Sorry. 😔

Don't forget the the kids carrying their guns in there backpacks to you guys.
In UK tubes, not so much.
❤
funny dude
Hugh come to Cyprus to marry me❤❤❤❤❤
He's already married! Were you not paying attention? Stop putting temptation in his way, please. I'm sure you could find similar who isn't married.
There's two Hugh Grants?
The Wienermobile followed me once.
There is no way these two are not related
Grant is becoming increasingly awkward to watch. Somehow the bit about how he does not want to be there is not a bit anymore.
