The fact that Derek talked Azah out of taking him to the end despite it being her best move and the fact that they were best friends throughout the season is a social play so bad it turns around and actually becomes kind of impressive. It’s like the exact inverse of Dan’s “Mist”
Vanessa is such a great final 3 defeat. Missing the question about Johnny Mac, her ACTUAL blind spot in the game. She discredited him strategically and ignored him socially. Fitting that she could’ve won if she didn’t miss that SINGLE thing.
As much as I love her gameplay, I gotta admit that is some poetic justice. It showed that no matter how smart she was strategically and even though she was the comp beat of the house, she lost due to questions from a houseguest she didn’t try to earn respect from.
I think one of the most fascinating Final HOHs was BBCAN3. We saw Godfrey beat Ashleigh, take Sarah to end, and lose to her. But if Ashleigh had won, she would have taken Godfrey to the end, and lost to him. What makes this even crazier is that if Sarah had made it to part 3 and won, she would have taken Ashleigh to the end, and lost to her. No matter who won, they were going to make the wrong decision.
@lastdayonearthmysteryman4849 yeah I wish he won, he wasn't the best player but he was so entertaining, that freeze frame of him jumping after he survived that crazy vote lives in my head rent free
@@lastdayonearthmysteryman4849 idk, he was never a big part of the action and he was seen more as a number than a driving force of the season. But what baffles me is that I always assumed Godfrey would have lost to Ashleigh since there were plenty of people on the jury I thought would vote for her!
I agree, BB17 is my favorite final 3 in BBUS history. As much as I love Vanessa and get why people hate that she lost, Steve gave her a great run for her money and I think he was the most fitting person to take her out at the end of it all! I also love this line right before he evicts her: “Are you ready?” “No” “Well too bad we’re on live tv!” 🤣
I think what makes the final showdown in BB17 especially so cutt-throat is Vanessa went into the competition fairly confident that even if she lost, Steve was going to take her to Final 2.
Steve cleverly let both of the ladies think that he was gonna take Vanessa to final 2 when in fact he was gonna take Liz. That way, Liz would think she was never gonna make it to final 2 and she wouldn't prepare a speech.
She did say after she wasn’t completely surprised, but I think she also genuinely believed Steve when he said he wanted to take her. Steve did a great job bringing her back on his side and while Vanessa keeping him at final 5 was mainly due to her seeing Austin and Liz as a bigger threat, one can argue that Vanessa would not have kept Steve if not for her thinking both he and Johnny Mac would take her to the end!
That thumbnail breaks my heart because I was pulling so much for Vanessa to close it out. But man, when they answered differently on that final question, it was such an exciting moment. I gasped when they revealed their answers 😮
Wasn’t the rumor that Scottie voted for Kaycee because he viewed Tyler similarly to Paul and thought that voting against the seemingly dominant player would make him the hero?
So true showdowns ARE great. BUT, we only need them once in a while because when they happen they nullify the rest of the finale. I love a juicy showdown at the final HOH, but I would rather a juicy final two where they both make great speeches and you don't know who's gonna win until Julie pulls the last key out and says "Congratulations Josh, you have won Big Brother!" A perfect finale has an HOH comp where you don't know who will take who AND still don't know who will win. I didn't think it at the time, but I guess a great finale is Drew cutting Diane and then beating Cowboy 4-3.
So to clarify ethan, if the final three is Cam, MJ, and Chelsie and it’s Cam and MJ in part three and they hypothetically cut each other and take Chelsie, this would be the first time potentially both part 3 HOH competitors lose? Lmaooooo the reverse epic showdown
I had never heard that Dan planned to take Ian to Final 2 during BB14, that seems so wrong since Danielle was obviously the biggest Dan follower. If Dan really planned to bring Ian then his loss wouldnt feel so tragic to me.
When Dan said that I wondered if he was just trying to save some face post-season. He had done too much at the end, like trying to convince Shane that Danielle was responsible for evicting him (which she technically was, but Dan wanted him to think she had plotted it) for me to believe he wouldn't have taken her. Dan also knew that he couldn't beat Ian, which is why he had tried for an eternity to get him out.
just for fun, I thought of my own names for the six categories... 1. Formality 2. Butterfly Effect 3. A Fun Watch 4. Fight For Silver 5. Nailbiter 6. There's no name I could think of that would be better than "True Showdown"
BB17 was my first season and I’ve been a fan ever since. There has never been another showdown like that. My dream is to someday be on big brother and play a game like Vanessa’s.
It always feels people are so mad at Steve like he should of just took Vanessa and lost to her. When most people clocked Vanessa she would get rid of them Steve was the one person who clocked her then preceded to pretend like he didn’t.
I think you should dedicate a video for "The Most Iconic Moments In Big Brother Canada History" BBCAN should get some recognition for how consistently good it is
I feel like BB18 belongs in the "slightly mattered" category solely because of Paul taking the wrong person to the end since by all accounts they would have won against James. Also, I thought Scottie voted Kaycee because he thought Tyler was considered a villain?
I love this video and I think the categories you came up with are pretty much spot, but I also think the final HoH comps for BB2, BB16, BB18, and BB19 each had something making it important that you didn't mention. For BB2, Nicole winning was important, because it allowed Will to make it to the end and win a season without being HoH even once, giving him a feat that still hasn't been repeated and probably never will. For BB16 and BB18, I think the seasons' endings are more interesting with Cody and Paul being the final HoHs, because they lost to the person they took, and could've beaten the person they evicted. Not only were these an extra feather in the cap for Derrick and Nicole's social games, but these decisions impacted Cody and Paul's storylines the next time they played. Cody essentially redeemed himself by betraying Nicole at BB22 (and explicitly contrasted it against what he did in BB16), while Paul actually overcorrected in BB19, and lost for playing *too* cutthroat. For BB19, I think Josh taking Paul to the end is more interesting than if it were the other way around, because the end of this season was all about Josh finally realizing that Paul couldn't be trusted, making viewers think he'd cut Paul at F3 if given the chance, yet he realized that being a strategic threat doesn't make you a jury threat and that Paul could actually be beat in an F2. I think this is important for Josh's character arc, as he went from wanting to work with Paul out of blind loyalty, to finally questioning if he should work with Paul, only to go back to wanting to work with Paul, but now for much better reasons. I don't know if this warrants changing what categories these seasons are in. The stuff I brought up is pretty broad and focused how a comp win affects the overall story, while your categories were more about how it affected the end result and/or caused a flashy moment, but I thought it would be worth mentioning either way.
I like these explanations and you bring up very good points that I didn’t look into but certainly made the decisions more impactful than the surface level “how flashy it was”
I agree with this, other than the one thing about a winner never winning without winning an HOH again, because that has actually happened on BBCAN since (Now, they did win a competition unlike Will, but it was a veto, not an HOH).
Big Brother Canada 5, Kevin vs Demetres will always be the biggest and best Big Brother showdown. Going back and forth with HOH's for the second half of the game, and it all coming down to the part 3 of the final HOH. This could be its own video.
i remember being out having fun and watching the bb17 finale live. as part 3 was happening i just had a feeling vanessa would lose so i rushed home to finish the finale and she steve was able to get the clutch win and send vanessa out. man that was exhilarating rushing home and watching that intense finale.
In BB 25, part 3 of the final HOH fell into the category of; A big moment happened, but it did not determine the final 2. Jag and Matt where both gonna take one another, but Bowie Jane did not think that Jag was gonna stab her in the back. In that regard, Bowie Jane was blindsided.
If BBCan were included BBCAN5 would probably also be in the last category, kevin was cutting demetres and demetres was cutting kevin and either would win the season

BB25 spoiler @ethanimale I enjoyed the video. The structure was very good. Could you you please do a video about surprise individual jury votes? For example Da'Vonne Rogers voting for Nicole F in BB18 or Cory voting for Jag in BB25.
The BB25 result was one of the bigger surprises I've had in a BBUS finale...not enough to make up for a season that fell apart so much in the second half, but enough to redeem it somewhat for me.
I'd like to see the history of how the round 3 of final HOH comp has evolved from subjective jury questions to fact based trivia. I was always frustrated that the most important comp was determined by random subjective jury guesses
Can you do a video if you haven’t already about the logic behind how the final three always has a floater? Like I feel like there’s so much outrage over Bowie Jane being in the F3, but that’s literally classic Big Brother, the two strongest players always drag a weak person to the end because they can beat them both in a vote and in comps, Spencer, Victoria, Sheila, Jerry, Christmas, none of them win a jury vote in a final 2 and we’re in main alliances to be shielded and we’re never. a big enough threat to target. Idk always found that interesting!
I would probably say BB25 lands in either the 'complete waste of time' category or the 'part 3 mattered and it wasn't crazy' category, but i'd lean towards complete wast of time. matt and jag were a final 2 for I wanna say like the last 7-9 weeks or so of the season, so they were more than likely gonna take each other. but from what I've heard, matt also had a final 2 with bowie jane so if he ended up winning, he might've taken bowie instead of jag to ensure that he won. i didn't watch any of the live feeds or anything else other than just the show, so I could have been wrong in saying this.
Why did Scottie think Tyler was not liked by the country? I remember him saying that he didn’t vote for Tyler because he thought the audience would like seeing another white guy lose He must’ve been shocked when Tyler won fan favorite! Tyler was the county favorite and production favorite!
it’s crazy bc bb 17 was my first big brother season ever so having seen that climatic ending and then going to watch other seasons was a bit underwhelming at first
Thanks as always for your videos. Going into the BB25 finale, I thought if Jag won and took Matt over Bowie, it would matter a great deal, but...he proved me wrong! One of the more surprising finales on this front. It was like if Cody had taken Derrick and beat him. (I'm not saying Matt is Derrick) I try not to get into "deserving" too much in BB, but BB23 is one of the few times where I would have preferred one sure F2 loser over another based on not wanting to see them in the final 2. The way Big D treated Azah and his incredible sense of entitlement made me wish Xavier had taken her. I was close to feeling the same way this season as after Bowie repeatedly threw away her game for Matt and Jag and said she just wanted the final 2, but Big D still beats her out, slightly. BB17 is my favorite final HOH outcome as after watching Steve's game progress all season, and seeing so many fans insist he was stupid for not saving Meg/working with James and Meg and would never cut Vanessa, Steve actually did it, and won. I'm so used to rooting for rocky players who ultimately fall apart, so seeing Steve, who was all over the place, come through and prove his strategy right was extremely satisfying.
bb feels so broken right now. i really did not enjoy this season and have not genuinely enjoyed a season for a while. there are a few major problems in my eyes 1) same player winning every comp. Jag has won TEN comps. that part of the game is broken. before jag it was cam, before him it was hisam. last season it was michael. before that xavier. cody in all-stars. it happens every season now and is ruining the game 2) every player throws first hoh now and more than 50% of the house wants to float. nobody is interested in actually trying until its too late for them 2b) everyone is afraid to make a big move. it is always too early to make a move in the houseguests eyes 3) recruits. STOP RECRUITING PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW/CARE ABOUT THE GAME. thank you all for letting me rant
From what I know I'm not sure BB7's was a waste of time. Erika swore on a family member to take Janelle, and so while she didn't want to win it as far as I understand, she might've gotten flustered and indecisive if she accidentally won it (as was totally possible with that competition) and was forced to make a decision.
Hopefully tonight is a showdown and Matt or Jag don't end up taking one another so the winner of tonight's comp essentially wins the game. Because no shade at Bowie but I don't think she gets a vote if she sits next to either one.
Apart of me wishes and hopes Jag and Matt would both just take FBJ to f2 but that's sadly not gonna happen (Jag is the only one of the 2 more likely to make that move but I have little hope)
I know Dan claims he’s cutting Danielle but I think he’s lying. He beats her I think. She just didn’t do enough and it was a better selling point for him
Unfortunately the only people Dan actually beats in a final 2 are Boogie and maybe Joe or Jenn City. The jury was very anti-returnee and with that + them being bitter towards his cutthroat gameplay, they wouldn't reward him with the win unless they were another returnee or did literally nothing throughout the season. Dan could maybe get Ian and Britney in that scenario but that was it unfortunately.
BB26: Chelsie and MJ were taking each other, but by MJ winning made Chelsie the first player taken to the final 2 to win unanimously, and it capped off MJ’s streak of handing Chelsie 750K since the final 7. Also MJ made the worst decision of all time. It fits into the 3rd part.
In BB20, I'm not sure if JC would have still voted for Tyler if he were the one to cut him. I think they both informed JC they were taking each other, but JC might not have taken that for an answer (assuming that Tyler was secretly still with him)
as I've learned, Vanessa vs Steve on the last question was less of a coin flip than we all thought. This is what happens Vanessa when you view hgs as chess pieces and not human beings. When push comes to shove, it becomes a lot harder so you rely on it being a guessing game. Steve actually took the time to get to know others and made the jurors like him on his way out. I cannot believe nobody talks about how blatantly bitter Vanessa was voting for Liz over Steve. You may argue they're closer to each other than Steve but Steve was better than Liz at the game. Vanessa KNEW she'd evict Steve and couldn't blame him for his final move yet can't even reward him with a jury vote? sore loser imo
The final HOH of Big Brother 25 is giung be the minutemen showdown! I hope Matt wins and take Jag and beat Jag! Because if Jag wins it also as like Matt won! Because Matt Save Jag!
Wait a minute, Dan was going to evict Danielle? Did he elaborate on his reasoning? Was he that aware he was losing to either of them so he chose the better winner? I guess we are talking about most people's pick for the Big Brother GOAT mine included so it's certainly plausible he knew he was screwed either way.
I never did think that was true, just based on how he tried to get Shane to believe Danielle schemed to get him out. I think he wanted to look a little better after a tough loss to Ian. (I'm a huge Dan fan so this isn't meant as a dig)
Ian talked about in on the All-Stars live feeds but a part of it for him, at least, was feeling like Dan had played a better game than Danielle and that if he was going to lose, he wanted it to be to Dan and not Danielle
I think you have BB22 wrong. If Nicole won I don’t think she actually brings Cody to the end. She cuts him and sits next to Enzo and wins. I think it truly belonged in the final category…a tense end to an otherwise absolutely dog shit season. Watching Nicole cry was the only good part of that season. 😂
bb23 was such a trash season. Completely motivated by an agenda. I respect the sentiment, but that’s not what bb is for - it’s a competition. Win on your own merit
Jags speech he just gave from the final 2 chairs was the most disrespectful, conceited, narcissistic, bunch of bs iv ever heard. I definitely do not want him to win. That was awful the way he talked to everyone. He us a snake. He is a jerk. He is not deserving of that chair he is in much less to win it all. He did mat soooo dirty when him and aussie girl put Matt on the block. They used his not so smartness and his disability against him and it was so gross to watch. If jag wins I probably will never watch BB again and I'm a super fan.
I only like Big Brother 1, the producers force drama while the first season was like they were fighting the production staff to prevent any and all drama. I NEVER watched BB for the drama and I could never imagine myself enjoying watching people get into drama, it's just childish.
I seriously don’t know if Erika was taking Boogie or Porsche was taking Rachel to the end, but I’d hope that was the case! 😂 Also, I don’t believe anything that Scottie says; he casted THE most bitter jury vote ever just because he was trying to be a “hero”. Alsooo, let’s be real, Nicole was cutting Cody if she won the final HOH in BB22! As soon as she won that power, her mind was gonna change!
At the time, given how hung up Erika was on Boogie, I felt like she was giving lip service to Janelle about sticking together, but was always going to go with Boogie. Janelle was bitter enough towards her that I wondered if Janelle had the same sense.
The fact that Derek talked Azah out of taking him to the end despite it being her best move and the fact that they were best friends throughout the season is a social play so bad it turns around and actually becomes kind of impressive. It’s like the exact inverse of Dan’s “Mist”

I love this
I'm still happy that Enzo got to take some dad dollars home to his family.
When Cody says… “i had that same thing woth him”… yeah i choked too
4:27 I love how dead the crowd is compared to all the others
I liked your inclusion of the competition music in the beginning! That must’ve been difficult to detach and mess with 😅
I would probably say BB25 lands in either the 'complete waste of time' category or the 'part 3 mattered and it wasn't crazy' category, but i'd lean towards complete wast of time. matt and jag were a final 2 for I wanna say like the last 7-9 weeks or so of the season, so they were more than likely gonna take each other. but from what I've heard, matt also had a final 2 with bowie jane so if he ended up winning, he might've taken bowie instead of jag to ensure that he won. i didn't watch any of the live feeds or anything else other than just the show, so I could have been wrong in saying this.
i remember Scottie sayin that … i was like BS but now it’s just seems normal lol & Drew still goated for that ahahaha (monte a goof by the way …)
Does anyone think Dan losing unanimously if he votes out Danielle? Also how crazy would that have been he won unanimously and then lost unanimously.
Idk, I feel Ian would vote for Dan like Danielle tbh
Why did Scottie think Tyler was not liked by the country? I remember him saying that he didn’t vote for Tyler because he thought the audience would like seeing another white guy lose He must’ve been shocked when Tyler won fan favorite! Tyler was the county favorite and production favorite!
it’s crazy bc bb 17 was my first big brother season ever so having seen that climatic ending and then going to watch other seasons was a bit underwhelming at first
Scottie was 100% lying, you can tell he was just bitter
tonights will be a snozzefest
Thanks as always for your videos. Going into the BB25 finale, I thought if Jag won and took Matt over Bowie, it would matter a great deal, but...he proved me wrong! One of the more surprising finales on this front. It was like if Cody had taken Derrick and beat him. (I'm not saying Matt is Derrick)
I try not to get into "deserving" too much in BB, but BB23 is one of the few times where I would have preferred one sure F2 loser over another based on not wanting to see them in the final 2.
Tbf, we wouldn't have gotten Joseph or Derek X. if they had stuck with recruiting fans only.
Taylor Hale winning when Monte cut Turner is so iconic!
From what I know I'm not sure BB7's was a waste of time. Erika swore on a family member to take Janelle, and so while she didn't want to win it as far as I understand, she might've gotten flustered and indecisive if she accidentally won it (as was totally possible with that competition) and was forced to make a decision.
I thought the cast said in bb24 that Monte wasn't winning. I think they said in exit interviews that they respected Turner more for big game plays
Could you make a video where you find the best big brother player from every state?
I remember watching Tuner get evicted and I looked at my mom and said Monte is an idiot! He just lost the game! Taylor Wins! He’s an idiot!
I’ve been starving for more videos!!
In BB20, I'm not sure if JC would have still voted for Tyler if he were the one to cut him. I think they both informed JC they were taking each other, but JC might not have taken that for an answer (assuming that Tyler was secretly still with him)
i hope we don't have to watch jag make a tragic decision tonight lmao
Can you make a video on how Jag won Big Brother 25
as I've learned, Vanessa vs Steve on the last question was less of a coin flip than we all thought.
Season 17 was my first season!!
X vs Azah def had some steam then it was WACK ahahahah.. i wonder what bro did to Azah lmao
Love the final HOH! Steve Vs Vanessa is my favorite, but Cody vs Nicole just has the power of the blindside at F3. Top tier moment for a boring season
Chelsie is getting the final HOH and taking cam
Jag just won!
Yep , I wish Matt would win
Bb canada got some good ones like bbcan 2
Hoping Jag takes out Matt tonight 🤞
Why did Dan or Ian not want to cut Danielle? She seems like an easy win to me!
The jury was very bitter
Ian talked about in on the All-Stars live feeds but a part of it for him, at least, was feeling like Dan had played a better game than Danielle and that if he was going to lose, he wanted it to be to Dan and not Danielle
creative video idea!
Ayoo bb 22 yes my g😂
Is Cody the only player to win the final HOH twice?
Yes
I think you have BB22 wrong. If Nicole won I don’t think she actually brings Cody to the end. She cuts him and sits next to Enzo and wins. I think it truly belonged in the final category…a tense end to an otherwise absolutely dog shit season. Watching Nicole cry was the only good part of that season. 😂
bb23 was such a trash season. Completely motivated by an agenda. I respect the sentiment, but that’s not what bb is for - it’s a competition. Win on your own merit
It was still a completely fair alliance. Sure, it was boring, but it was completely fair for everyone involved.
BB17 was IMMACULATE! Steve always!
10:59
Monte was robbed till this day
Jags speech he just gave from the final 2 chairs was the most disrespectful, conceited, narcissistic, bunch of bs iv ever heard.
Steve was so cringe man I was rooting her Vanessa
cringe because he pulled off a clutch win and won the game? Steve was Vanessa's blindspot 😊
I seriously don’t know if Erika was taking Boogie or Porsche was taking Rachel to the end, but I’d hope that was the case! 😂
Also, I don’t believe anything that Scottie says; he casted THE most bitter jury vote ever just because he was trying to be a “hero”.
Cam has been so creepy this season so don’t vote for him to win afp
4 coment
Vote Matt for AFP
Steve speech to vanessa was one of my favorite scenes on the show, it really felt like it came out of a movie. S17 is so underrated..
