    The first stretch is the one I did to help relieve my foot pain. I had no idea what to do about it so I happened to find you both on UA-cam. I kept at it, as well as rolling a ball under my feet. The pain is gone. I tell everyone about this channel and what it has done for me.

    WOW - this is really good timing guys! I stepped out of my car, slipped and fell last week on black ice. Hit my hip on runner board of my car, then landed on my butt. The day OF, it didn't hurt too too bad. But next day, excruciating pain. So, I've been icing it and doing some of your helpful stretches from previous videos. I know from experience, it just takes time, taking it easy, icing, and slow stretches. I think adding a few of these will really help. It still feels like my back is just waiting for me to make a wrong move. But I'm taking it nice and slow. You guys are great! And the advice you guys have provided about supporting the lower back too. I found that I really needed something in my lumbar area while sitting on the couch in the evening while watching TV; especially right now. Seems like the sofas they make these days are just too large for the average human. They're like made for giants or something.Where did the normal furniture go???? I don't live in a McMansion for pete's sake! LOL

    21 years ago I had spinal fusion with instrumentation. Since then I've had progressive muscle cramps and until recently awful leg and feet cramps. I feel really stiff and sore. I've started trying these to help me. Wondering if I should do them 2 or 3 times per day. I'm also hoping this works because I feel like I may have a pinched nerve.

    Stretching achilles and hamstring seems to ease lower back pain. Love the feel of stretching, but it only slows the tightening, and I will take that. Pressing on the hamstring while exhaling seems to loosen it up a bit while stretching

      Remember to include proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Lying on your back, with one leg raised, hands clasped around your hamstrings. (The second leg can be resting straight-back of thigh calf and heel in contact with the floor, or bent-knee to the ceiling, foot flat on the floor) Contract the hamstrings and press the back of your thigh against your hands whilst applying pressure with the hands. Hold this for say 30 seconds (you will find the optimal hold time for you); then release and encourage the thigh to come a little closer towards your torso.

    Hey there! I’m trying to get more physically fit after a car accident in march. I was never very fit due to medical conditions upon medical conditions but after a passion for dance has been lit under me, i wanted to begin improving my flexibility to have a shot at doing it. How high should i be putting my oeg up for the first excersise? I can’t lift my leg anywhere near as high as this video and i don’t think missing 2 inches of a hip bone on my right leg is helping. Is there any alternatives or can i start at a 50/60 degree angle and gradually work my way up to a 90 degree angle when stretching

    @Physical Therapy Video, I have a question--should you warm up your muscles before stretching? I used to take a lot of aerobic classes and we always worked the muscle group slightly to warm them up before going on to a stretch. Your thoughts?

    • @aoievans2976
      @aoievans2976 5 років тому

      Cish 60 I would reccomend that you get your heart rate up or just do any type of exercise that makes your body warm because then you will have a lesser chance of injuring yourself. If you stretch cold you will most likely injure yourself.

    @physical Therapy video Hi I have an unrelated question for you guys. I'm 27 and have Scoliosis of the spine that's at about a 90 degree angle and also have a disc in my lower spine that is no longer there as it has dissolved and I'm usually always in a lot of pain mostly in the lower back area but I don't take pain killers cause I don't want to get addicted to them and I can't afford to go to the doctors right now. So any advice you can give will be appreciated and is it possible for to vertebraes to fuse together when there is no disc between them? Thanks for reading such a long comment. p.s or could u maybe do a video on it to help others who also have Scoliosis.

    • @smilesmile7330
      @smilesmile7330 5 років тому +1

      Scoliosis is almost impossible to treat online. U need to see someone in person bc it depends on how much the degree, in which location, what else is affected by it...and u need imaging to determine getting fusion. U can take half a pain killer. Saves money and less likely to get addicted. Can get custom braces from orthopedist. Look at what ur insurance covers and go from there. But u need to get help and stop the pain early. Try chiropractor too. There's one on UA-cam motivationaldoc. He might have some basic things for pain inflammation and balances but scoliosis u need to b seen in person. There are many programs if u can't afford medical payments. Look in to disability and indigent care trust fund

      @smile smile
      Thanks and I probably should been more specific I wasn't asking about a getting a fusion done because when I had an MRI and a X-ray it showed that two vertebraes have fusioned together since there were no disc between them and wondering how that was possible and what could caused the disc to dissolve on it's own

    • @smilesmile7330
      @smilesmile7330 5 років тому

      +Herbert Cornwell oh I see! Maybe get a second opinion bc that sounds pretty crazy! Maybe bone spurs btwn the discs made them become one fused disc.
