Whenever I listen to a dumble ( on youtube, lol ), I am left thinking , ok? Is that much better than a number of less renound amps? I'm sure I'd be blown away if I could play one, but it just doesn't translate on a TV, phone, or computer... I'm left wonderong are thry really that much better than a blackface etc?? Then there is trainwreck. They really blow me away. The cleans are amazing and the overdrive? Otherworldly. So I thought id build one. An express. Looking the the trainwreck web page, they ( not Ken) bad mouth clones, as if there's some magical pixie involved. I also contacted them about having one built. They ignored me. Never heard back. So... challenge accepted . Little ol' me has 2 express builds under my belt. They are better than I had EVER Imagined. Good Lord... like a hurricane of fire...🔥 To whoever builds trainwreck amps now : Thanks for turning your nose up at me and suggesting that mere mortals could never build one.. Very bad buisnes practices btw. But you've got Ken's laurels to rest.on , don't you?
Input output in phase is not really important because you are at a distance from the amp while playing and can alter the phase. But still he might had other reasons, which I am interested to learn about.
You can improve the range of your volume control by installing a 10% taper volume pot, like a PEC 2W. It will provide a smoother low range increase instead of the normal "pegged at 10 o'clock" situation. And your playing is super, bud. Nice tones!
I've got a great take on Trainwreck Rocket built with Dale Resistors and Sozo Caps 4x El34 and 3x 12ax7. Superb sounding amp built as 1 of 2 by a well known UK pedal builder...kinda the ultimate AC30. It needs an attenuator though to keep the police at bay!
@@Rockbeareguitars he was wise enough to put a switch on the back to toggle between 15W and 30W thank goodness...it does sound magnificent in full flight though
Express. But quite a few liberties taken, master volumes in particular. Very difficult to know how close they are to the real thing without side by side comparison, but I do know they are some of the best amps I’ve played through.
@@Rockbeareguitars The Express is EL34 based not EL84. So quite a few liberties taken by the builder. Still they sound good and the cheap Cabronita sounds good as well.
Dear Bob, I'm watching and enjoying your narrative when suddenly @5:40 -ish my poor computer monitors EXPLODE (!) ...if yours (and Ramon's) channels weren't among me favorites, I wouldn't bother to mention it... Cheerios (but not the cereal)

Does this Marcus fella just build for friends or can you order an amp from him.

4 x EL34 will be loud! Probably sounds magnificent in full flight when possible.

God, sorry, obvs didn’t mix levels well enough. The price of doing it quick on a phone.
I got to play an original trainwreck once and it was a real treat. But it was 20,000. Dollars and that was 20 years ago.
