I rarely get too excited as I listen through a computer at the intriguing amps offered by you (Johan) ... but this MOST CERTAINLY is a very special amp. What an honor to own this. It deserves high-caliber playing in live, full-band performance. I'm seriously blown away at it's tones and responses. WOW. Great work Daniel - sincerely!
Hi, Johan! I am not so much good with electronic stuff. Once my guitar tech support guy said "Ziggy, you are a great player, teacher, but as a horner and amplifier builder you are not going well. JUST PLAY, PLEASE! Leave me the frame work." But when I see those technical details, I feel like a looser. I want it. The result here is AWESOME! I think, its the first good video, I saw since Monday. Its making to LP the voice of Rickenbacker. Yeah, John Lennon, Liverpool... Stollen Rick)) Classic!👍 You are great! S.
I worked with Kenny his first year even built him 3 head boxes at his request. At that time myself and two other guys were selling the “Fake Books” AKA Real Book. Kenny had Golden Ears! He could tell differences in capacitors and resistors. Dennis Kager from Sundown worked a few miles up the road and he was amazing too and we became extremely close friends. Jesse Oliver from Ampeg and Oliver Amps was always around then too and was a encyclopedic of amp knowledge.
sounds amazing. ken fischer used vintage glass : mullard in v1 amperex bugle boy v2 philips miniwatt in v3/pi. for power he used mullard xf2 el 34 and brimar el 84. enjoy
I believe I only have heard a train wreck amp once or twice before; I noticed the separation between tone and harmonics; it's warm when needed, bright. I think a humbucker guitar complements the amp better than a single coil. Over al, I have only positive feedback. By the way, Johan - are output tubes EL84 or JJ EL34 Tak for demonstrationen, Johan og tak til Daniel og Ragnar på Strat. Rock on👍
Hi, in the guitar world characteristics that are frowned upon in the Hifi community is actually attractive. From a Hifi perspective guitar amp and speaker tone is a question of degenerating the tone in a way that we are used to from records of yesteryear.

I have one of the Trainwrecks made by Ken's assistant, John Mark. Mine is an Express model, and it has unimaginable gain. It's basically endless sustain at around 3/4 volume. The circuit really cooks both the preamp tubes and the power tubes, and I suppose much of the distortion/gain is from the last stage of the preamp section. I mostly play blues, and it's definitely not a blues amp, but it's still a really cool amp.
The amp is basically a Fender style preamp into a JCM-800 cold clipper, which goes into a Tweed/Marshall style P.I. and EL-34 output valves. The power supply is a Marshall style power supply. The design is peppered with various value changes.
Harmonics are amazing, clear and bright. This is a special Amp. Thanks Johan and Team for putting this together!
Thanks a lot Paul! 🙏
Thanks man, glad to hear that!
Yeah you are right, sounds very similar to my 70s Hiwatt
looks great aswell
I've been haunted by the Liverpool since Pete Thorn's video on the real deal some years back. Truly a superb sound.
That was about the best harder guitartone i've heard in a long time. Ronson , AC/DC , Kossoff , 999 Ruts and Kustow. Amazing.
Nice amp.please play this amp full blast out in the forest .👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🎸🎸🎸🤟🤟🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
sounds class
Thanks!
I've built a couple of trainwreck express amps. They really do live up to the hype. Big time.

And thanks to you, Johan! My great friend and partner in crime! 🤗
TONE 'crocs'! \m/
I hear more of the Liverpool. Guess it's due to the EL84's delivering that chime?
That’s a really nice sound! I’m gonna need a pedalboard sized reproduction with a headphone out jack….. #orangeamps
Thanks 🙂
6:09 nice
So, THIS amp is a hybrid of Marshall & a Vox type amp?
Fan vilken schysst ton i den!
I just ordered one on Sweetwater!
Wheres the express ?
a 77 412of black backs obtainable? Yep,, your 71 1960 would been my first choice but a 2045 would have been balls on.
You decided to use a valve rectifier rather than solid state.
Tweak?Its a pot-meter,and circuits produce heat,changes ohm value.Must hed back,like electric network,save power.A notch backwards,are hours sound.Let trough current,oscilate everything.Its the genre,wrong amp-tuning,never playing.Wrong rig!STRANGE,hifi takes all,amp do nothing.

Very nice sounding amp , one I would use certainly. P.s. I reckon it would also suit 12 or 10 inch speakers in a half closed back cab ✨
Thanks Paul
