- Available now! To compliment City Update #2: France, Microsoft Flight Simulator today released the ninth aircraft in the “Local Legends” series of aircraft. From France’s Latécoère Corporation, the Model 631 is an all-metal, high-wing, six-engine flying boat - the last of the great trans-oceanic flying boat airliners.
The Latécoère Model 631 includes an impressive sixteen liveries and is available today in the Microsoft Flight Simulator in-sim marketplace for $14.99. The sky is calling!

@@puterboy2 This track sounds similar to the one that they used in the Ju-52 trailer and other classics. And that track is VERY riminiscent of James Horner's Rocketeer theme.

Dear Microsoft & Devs, You did a very nice job with all of the Local Legend aircraft. This one is one of my favorite! It's at the top beside the Dornier 631, Do X, and a couple others. I have a fair suggestion of a aircraft many many enthusiasts have been dreaming of seeing come to the sim. They are the Heinkel He 111Z Zwilling, or could choose a helicopter for the next local legend aircraft (Focke-Achgelis 223 Dragon) which as an experimental helicopter from Germany in WWII 🙏🙏💯💯😁😁

I know it s designed and created by French studios so they have all the right to push French aircraft’s and content … but can’t we get other famous aircraft’s … B-24 Liberator, B-17 Flying Fortress or B-29 Superfortress … Short Sunderland, Consolidated Catalina, Sikorsky S-43 or ...de Havilland Mosquito.. etc etc .. list is endless. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK though - all good vibes

HISTORY NOTE ( from wiki) FOR READERS: The Latécoère 631 was the result of a specification issued in 1936 by the Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile for a 40-passenger airliner with a range of 4,000 kilometres (2,500 mi). The aircraft was ordered in 1938. It was intended that it would be powered by six Gnome et Rhône P.18 engines of 1,650 horsepower (1,230 kW) each. A competitor for this specification was the SNCASE SE.200 Amphitrite.

Construction of the aircraft was stopped due to the outbreak of World War II and was not resumed until after the signing of the Franco-German Armistice. The prototype, registered F-BAHG, first flew on 4 November 1942. It was subsequently confiscated by the Germans, and passed to the Luftwaffe, who allocated the codes. The aircraft was flown to Lake Constance, where it was destroyed in an attack by two Royal Air Force de Havilland Mosquito aircraft on 17 April 1944.

Plane time!
MSFS has been great through the years but it still cartoon like in it's representation of older aircraft. My Pet Pave is when flying a scenario one can stand outside of the plane and see it as if they were standing on a cloud. in my 26 years of actual Flying I never once stood outside the aircraft i was flying at 6000' to watch myself.
I believe that's called sky diving. 🎉
