I think Queen Elizabeth II didn't wear certain tiaras because she didn't like them or they didn't suit her. Hopefully, Queen Camilla or Queen Katherine will reach into the royal vault and begin wearing them or loaning them to Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise an, eventually, Princess Charlotte.
What a beautiful video and we can see that Queen Mary was not wasting anything concerning jewelry as she recycled them into other forms of jewelry. But one thing is sure she was a real queen, regal and she exuded the image of what we imagine a real queen looks like. We will never see the likes of her anymore.
150 years ago women wore extravagant displays of jewelry every day, now days it's just for a special occasion! Considering the amount of Queen Mary's private collection, added to the crown jewels, it's a lot of stuff to choose from! The sheer amount of jewels Queen Mary wore at one time, shown in her photos, is astonishing!
You should check out Queen Alexandra on her coronation day! She wore one of the fringe tiaras at her waist. Other Victorian ladies wore pretty much their entire jewelry boxes. I do like that many jewels were repurposed in different configurations. Very economical to be able to get different looks from a tiara such as, brooches, bracelets, necklaces, and brooches depending on the design.
The second tiara/bandeau is now in possession of the Sultanah of the State of Pahang, Malaysia. She has it for over 3x decades and it is not a replica. Most likely Marygifted it to Princess Margaret and Margaret sold it off. The Sultanah is half-English by the way. With 50% English blood she probably is more English than the current royal family in the UK who is mostly German with some Russian.
Queen Mary, was fed up with having to "rent Diamonds" for her tiaras etc, so she went about buying up jewels, that were then broken down. Many of the Crowns and Tiaras are just shells/frame work now, as the jewels have been repurposed for other Crowns and Tiaras.
Her is Alexandra Federovna.. Crown Tiara was made for their daughter and grandchildren.. Alexandra and Nicholas children.. Tatiana Mariana Natasha Natalie Ivan Alexsei Igor Nicolai
Beautiful tiaras lost maybe forever. What a shame! As for the Lover's Knot tiara, I hope it goes into the vault for a while. I have seen too often both on Princesses Diana and Catherine. There are numerous other tiaras in the royal vaults.
I love that they used to make they multiuse some can be necklaces some can be a necklace and brooches and some a necklace and a bracelet. I think its super cool to have them be mulitiuse. Do thay still make them like that?
Queen Mary never saw a precious stone she didn't lust over. She wore far too much jewelry although at least they were taken out for an airing. In today's world, the late Queen didn't wear as much jewelry as her Grandmother. There are fewer and fewer occasions where opulent tiaras and necklaces are considered proper. At some point, it would be lovely if the jewels were on display in the tower or some such and a "coffee table book" published. It matters to no-one except me that Mary destroyed one of the most beautiful - the "loop" tiara. To me that one is breathtaking.
In Queen Mary's day that was expected to look like a Queen, I hope Queen Camilla & Princess Catherine follow suit, they are not like us but Royal & should portray that.
Look when It comes Queen Mary and the RF, If they are not dismantled, then they are still in the vault they don’t sell them, and I was quite surprised to win the emerald one showed up when the granddaughter got married so it’s all languishing in the vaults there’s pieces the queen didn’t like and didn’t wear
OK, it's re PUR-posing... Purpose... And you're showing Margaret - the sister of Queen Elizabeth, while referring to Queen Mary. Get yourself a proofreader and editor that are humans, please!
That's a lie. The only 2 royal that head fitted on a tiara, is queen elizabeth and princess diana. This is real talking. I keep on saying it over n over. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, is the 2 most beautiful royal that love beautiful in a tiara. Get it right.
Of all the Queens and Royal members in history around the world , Queen Mary wore her tiaras and extravagant jewellery to absolute perfection.

Queen Mary certainly had exquisite taste when it came to jewels. I'm quite impressed!
Queen Elizabeth didn’t seem to have much interest in selling or reworking jewels like Queen Mary did. A lot of jewels simply are down in the vaults

The amethyst jewels are stunning.
The late Queen also said some tiaras are uncomfortable or heavy to wear and give you a headache.
WOW! Queen Mary sure liked jewelry!!!
I just love the necklaces and chokers. Those are so beautiful, and then the combination with these beautiful tiaras… this woman knew here juwels..
Queen Mary was unique, and that’s an understatement. God bless her!
The Diamond Sunburst is a stunning tiara. Hopefully it will come out again, someday. Queen Mary’s Diamond choker is one of my favorite pieces.
Mary was not only Queen of England, she was QUEEN OF JEWELS!

🎉If i were the Queen or Princess of Wales. I would spend some serious time in the jewel vsult
Me too.
I'll come with you!

I wonder if the elaborate chokers and ropes of pearls Queen Mary is seen wearing in the photos are still in the possession of the royal family?
I think Queen Mary spent plenty of time in the Royal Jewel Room.
The Cambridge Sapphires are now in the possession of Moira Fine Jewellery
Let’s face it , Queen Mary was a magpie . A case of anything goes .
😂

I want all these . I’m going to get them
What is difficult to understand is, why do all these people donate and give their money to the Queen Mary?
It is called tribute.
No kidding! I have to agree with you there. They have so much. Queen Mary was a very greedy person!
Good program!
The amethyst one was beautiful.
Anna Wintour wearing that gorgeous piece with a PRINT dress? So much for taste.
Ghastly choice of a dress to be worn with that spectacular necklace.
Very interesting ❤ thank you😊
Got to say, if I was Elizabeth, no one else would have worn my sister's jewelry while I yet lived unless she had left it to them herself.
I saw a UA-cam video that said Queen Mary was a kleptomaniac who actually took jewelry and fine objects from other noble families.
If only the word repurpose was pronounced properly

There is no such thing as too much jewellery for an empress and queen.
😂 Ha!! No. Some always think more is less!!!

😮🤤😋🤯😳😍😍😍if only they were catalogued

POOR MARINA !
Always shocks me how much Like Queen Mary Queen Elizabeth was
One simply cannot have too many tiaras.

Yes! And, it's PEN-chant, not, PUN-chant.
Hoping see see Queen Camilla & Catherine Princess of Wales in more pieces. (No rush for CPoW as she's on the mend, but when she's ready).
I think a lot of it's over the top. Elizabeth was more practicle.
The Diamond Lozense bandeau is at present at the possession of the Seikha of Malaysia .
Tiaras are nice 💯💯
What a garish display of wealth.

Yes it is. When it said Queen Mary "adorned" a tiara. I put it on mute.
The mid-pronouncing of repurposing is driving me crazy.
Queen Mary was princess Margaret’s sister. Uhhh
No one wears a Tiara better than Princess Kate!
