    While the pick holder is kinda useful, i can't get out of my head the image of the weird indie/edgy wannabe kid having it on his finger the whole time and being like "Oh, you noticed? Yeah, i play guitar"

      I have a guitar pick holder like that on my battle jacket but I keep my Archspire signature picks in there so I think I get a pass on the “wannabe” part. I ain’t a wannabe, I’m a willbe

  • @MrDaveKC

    The vibration thing isn't to beak in the strings, it's designed to break in the wood on the guitar, and yes it's for an acoustic guitar. There's similar and much more expensive products like the ToneRight and Tone Traveler that many say work, but this is WAY cheaper.
    But it's not for strings, and it's not for an electric guitar.

    When you put new strings on you need to stretch them. Hold the string in the nut, then pull it gently away from the fretboard along the length of the string, retune string, rinse and repeat until the string is still in tune after pulling on it. Do this for strings 2-6, for the high e hold the string in the nut and do full step bends along the length of the string, you risk breaking it pulling on it like the others. If you don't stretch your strings before playing they will be worn out before they will stay in tune after a bend.

      @sixstringtv1  2 роки тому +1

      Probably shouldn't put AliExpress tubes into anything you value, but maybe I'll see if I can find a 12AX7 somewhere and stick it in a cheap amp. Also, the reviews did genuinely say "worked great for my guitar amp" and shit like that. Maybe they changed the product that was listed there but kept the same listing up

Try one, seriously... I got one from Joyo to use in my own content and its actually something I use a lot and is great for a small busking amp rig. I tested my Hizumitas through it for my half assed demo and in the room it sounded great.

    Those vibration boxes have been around for awhile. They've actually supposed to vibrate the wood of an acoustic guitar to simulate the aging of vintage instruments to improve tone. Of course, this is nonsense, because wood only changes tonally because of drying and shifting.

    • @ollimoore
      @ollimoore 2 роки тому

      I’d be interested to know where you got that last part. I know from personal experience that a gap of a few years in the storage of the wood (prior to making an instrument from it) doesn’t make an noticeable difference, whereas an instrument which is a few years old sounds quite different from a newly strung up one.

      i know multiple high end classical guitar luthiers who are certain that vibration plays a role in tonal shift, however, such a gadget is likely to do more harm than good when the vibrations it produces are nothing like that of the guitar strings it's trying to emulate.

    • @DrDizzleFrizzle
      @DrDizzleFrizzle 2 роки тому +1

      Luthiers believe a lot of myths and wood doesn't have magical properties. It dries over time and shrinks as it does so, that's the only thing that really changes to affect tone. There are so many things people convince themselves that affect guitar tone and it has become a giant superstitious form of pseudoscience. The head luthier at Taylor guitars set out to prove that wood was entirely less important than building quality and did so by building a guitar out of a wooden pallet.
