Lucky bastard Pete! This is an absolute dream for me that you're living here, owning a gorgeous 930 (my dream car ever since I was a kid, I am 49!) and having it expertly built to perfection with you actually able to participate. Just amazing. Thanks so much to you guys at Speed Academy and the guys at Turbokraft for allowing you to film this. One of the great things about this video series is you can see how the guys at Turbokraft gradually warm up to you and your cameras. Big respect to all of you and thanks for sharing such a brilliant experience!
My favourite series on Speed Academy and it's only episode 1! That RWB is gonna be off the hook, 4.0 engine will be out of this world. Can't way for the next episode Porsche FTW 😊
Been here from the start of this channel and all I can say is that you guy's have grown so much. Keep on producing content like this. This was a very informative video and also an entertaining one. Thank you speed academy, you guys are amazing.
I'm more a bike guy than a car guy, but as a fella that stands in the back sometimes to watch the work happen: Dude its not that I don't trust you guys. It's that I'm fascinated by the mechanical workings, and I want to understand them better myself.
this is gonna be epic Pete thanks for taking us on the ride with you, now down to business when will we see that badass 2000 itb dyno pull I can't wait any more.
You have my dream car. I used to have an authentic 1986 RUF BTR that I sold in 2005. The EFI is a way to go for the 930. I drove one with a Zytec setup and it was amazing. I bet today you can get an amazing performance with motec. What happened to that guy in Arizona, Motorsports Design? Bob Holcombe his name. He used to make some amazing ITB setups.
Oh wow, I absolutely love all the RUF Porsches, they're marvels of engineering for their time. Lucky that you owned one. As for Bob, never heard of him so not sure!
I know a couple of people who have turbos with his engine. One is a 930 and the other is a 993 turbo. The 993 makes 850hp. It was built by Bob and later by Butch Stokes close to Hallandale Blv. in South Florida. This guys from Turbokraft do amazing work. Did you contemplate the idea of using the carrera intake instead of the blocks?
Yea Yay WooHoo FINALLY get to see you guys work your magic on a real heavy weight with enough problems and old tech. That there is plenty of room to improve and grow. Althought the car was pretty cutting edge in it's day that day is gone. but as they say it has good bones, with the whole car being continually updated and improved . A lot can be done to improve the car w/o screwing it up. LET THE GAMES BEGIN. YAY BABY can't wait!!!???... O.K NOW WATCH THE VIDEO.
finally a Porsche.. when converting over to the efi don't be tempted to sell the Bosch parts.. remember what he said about the core charge.. I bet down the road they will be even harder to come by and will increase the value of your car..
Man if your coming through Utah on your way back message me and I would love to come see the 911 it's sick af and I can't wait to see what turbokraft does with it
ayyyeee finally we get to see it in action. Don't rush for our sake PT, take your time with this build. You guys have so many projects I'm surprised you guys get things done. btw, i plan on ordering a sweater next week, will it come with stickers? nudge* nudge*
The EFI is a great call out...and so much great info from the owner. Why have a classic 930 and not make it more drivable? This is going to be ridiculous!
+Michael Da Re Im in the Toronto area and sadly, I don't get out to many meets since I'm too busy working on all these cars but we plan to host a SA meet this year.
Are you going to go back and forth for the duration of the build? Or stick around warm and sunny AZ until the car is ready? Also Why go that far? There are closer specialists to the border !
+0ttoman Oh not a chance. I'm down in AZ for the duration of the build. And I am very picky when it comes to who I partner with on projects, I've seen Turbokraft built cars and engines and knew right away that I wanted to work with them. They are extreme professionals and meticulous with their work. Plus Chris and Mike are great guys.
Nice! I live in AZ are you going to any car events while your here? the Goodguys car show is going on all weekend at Westworld, check it out and enjoy AZ!
+softwar3UPDAT3 If I have some spare time on sunday I may make it out to the show. I have so much editing to do that it makes it hard to get out to any car related events.
With the new efi capability, are you planning on running the engine efficiently and cutting off fuel during deceleration? Or are you adding some fuel to retain the old school overrun goodness?
+linkems No overrun, I plan to run the engine like most modern cars so they popping that was present with CIS will be gone. One small drawback but the advantages are worth it.
People buy the cars because they were relatively inexpensive and then realize that parts are expensive so the cobble stuff together. As the saying goes "cheap German cars are the most expensive cars."
+jim dandy You should see some of the other cars that I saw at TK with parts that I wouldn't even dare put on a cheap car let alone one this expensive!
How many projects do you currently have? I wish I would have the spare time/money to build and actually run these many cars! Or are you selling a few after they are finished (which is what I plan to do when I moved and found a garage to work in)? Great channel btw!
+THEALKYL We have quite a few going on but that's because we are trying to create videos every week. This is our full time job so that is where the time and investment of money makes sense to us.
PT! How long have you had this car for? Looks awesome. I have wanted one for a long while, but should have bought one 5 years ago. Now they are approaching "new porsche" money...
Lucky you! I cant remember if it was mentioned in the video or not - Will you be using this as yet another track toy? Or will this be your "nice car"? - Also, are you going to do anything to the exterior to freshen it up abit? It needs a good polish!
+Doggepp This is going to be a weekend car I take cruising :) As for the paint, it certainly does need a good cleaning. Ill do that once I get back home.
Nice! Yeah, with the sky rocketing in price, its probably best to keep it stock-ish. Refreshing the engine+brakes, a pair of good coilovers and perhaps some rims, it might be wort A LOT in 10 years or so! Looking forward to seeing more of it!
930 is my dream car. This build has got me more excited than any of the others.
+Kieron Ash Very cool! There's lots of great content coming soon!
that guys so knowledgable and at the same time explains in such a way that even i could understand...great work guys as always..cant wait for more..
+Tim Lawton Thanks! Chris has been great in explaining how everything works.
Best channel ever.
+invinciblejets That's so kind thank you!
+invinciblejets Agree
+Speed Academy What he said!

you need to get some porsche reviews going on your channel dude...would be great to see you rippin some air cooled action..
Agreed Porsche are my favourite cars, and I'm doing a 991 GT3 RS review in a few weeks, also taking it to Spa in April which will be epic 👍
+MONKY LONDON Fantastic! We've got lots more coming on this car and I'll be sure to shoot some video on the RWB 911 if its done when I'm still here.

+Gabriel Aiello Super agreed!
That RWB is SO SICK!!!

+Brian Dinsmore It's been one of my dream cars for a long time!
Awesome, looks like it's in good hands. Can't wait to see the progress.
+Scott Lachapelle The best hands! I'm beyond excited to see it all come together.
Awesome! Can't wait. Have always loved, yet not understood some of the old school Porches.
+Ryan Tiffany I hope this video series will help you understand a lot more about them.
Thank you and thanks TuroKraft for allowing you to film this I look forward to watching these experts work.
+jlgrrt1 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Been here from the start of this channel and all I can say is that you guy's have grown so much. Keep on producing content like this. This was a very informative video and also an entertaining one. Thank you speed academy, you guys are amazing.
+NoGunLicense Thank you! Those are encouraging words, we're hard at work trying to churn out good quality, authentic content.
half way through the CIS explanation i was screaming "get it off! get it off! get rid of that crap!" I'm looking forward to the next video
+sir_dannyv Exactly! Good riddance.
This is the car that brought me to the channel what an epic garage I can't wait for the build
+TheAussiefrog Fantastic. Wait till you see what is in store for it this year. :D
We built the 934 tribute car, Chris and Mike did a great job on the motor.
+Sean Hendrix It's simply gorgeous! You did an amazing job on the chassis.
I just met Nakai San here in Markham a few weeks ago! Super cool dude... That RWB is gonna be one crazy machine, can't wait for this series to go on!
+Jesse Carmichael Amazing, you're so lucky to meet him. I hope to also get a chance to shake the mans hand one day.
Pretty surreal to meet him. Watching him work was insane, and shaking his hand and having a chat was crazy!
The fact that they plastic wrap the back of your car where they're working shows a serious level of professionalism.
+UndergroundTrev Exactly, both Mike and Chris have been meticulous with their work and how they handle the car.
I'm so excited about this built, can't wait for more.
+manucul28 Thanks, more videos are in the cue!
Awesome, will be keeping close tabs on this series Pete!
+Boosted & Built Garage Thank you! Should be a good one.
I am so impatient for the next episode I started re-watching the series again!
I have that mechanical injection in my 83 rabbit. A complete nightmare! I would've never thought I'd rather have carbs, but I do!
+Noah Blalock Haha, I think I'd take carbs over it any day. Thankfully we know have EFI :D
Dope! Happy to see the car get the love and parts it deserves
+Garage Topics Thanks! Its going to be a hell of a build!
I don't envy the guy dropping the motor. I hate it when customers stand around and watch me work on their car.
I hear ya. I was thinking the same thing! At the last shop I worked at customers were forbidden in the shop area. It was nice.
yea but i would do it too, free add for my shop
@@jackallen6261 most shops don't allow you in nowdays but I'm sure they agreed to allow the filming in abvance. Can't beat free advertising!
I'm more a bike guy than a car guy, but as a fella that stands in the back sometimes to watch the work happen:
Dude its not that I don't trust you guys. It's that I'm fascinated by the mechanical workings, and I want to understand them better myself.
Cause there trying to learn .
this is gonna be epic Pete thanks for taking us on the ride with you, now down to business when will we see that badass 2000 itb dyno pull I can't wait any more.
Looking forward to more of this car.

+TaylorMatheson Many more are coming!

+roger depew Yes indeed, this build will modernize the engine quite a bit and make it such a better car to drive and enjoy.
finally a Porsche.. when converting over to the efi don't be tempted to sell the Bosch parts.. remember what he said about the core charge.. I bet down the road they will be even harder to come by and will increase the value of your car..
+Will Jones I thought about keeping the stuff but I won't ever convert this car back to CIS regardless of the value.
Great stuff! Can't wait to see how it does when it's finished. Good luck!
+Atrax R Thanks! We're working on a tight schedule down here so lots of cool episodes are coming.
More!!! More!!! More!!! Great project!!
+calvin storer More coming!

Awesome Pete!!!!!
Your evo is so much better and nicer Pete
+Luke Kindred It's a very different car then this so comparing the two isn't really fair.

+Chow Fat Sweet, lots of videos will be heading your way!

+itsToon Haha, Dave does the shirt orders do you gotta go nudge him :)
The EFI is a great call out...and so much great info from the owner. Why have a classic 930 and not make it more drivable? This is going to be ridiculous!
+Streetsandpeaks Exactly, the old system is archaic by modern day standards. Now I'll have the best of both worlds.
Great vid as always Pete!
+Alex Rei Thanks!

+Zach Rochau It's finally back from the dead!
OMG I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! MY DREAM CAR!

Where from Ontario are you? and do you go to any meets with your Porsche I have a 997 911 in Etobicoke
+Michael Da Re Im in the Toronto area and sadly, I don't get out to many meets since I'm too busy working on all these cars but we plan to host a SA meet this year.

+Dimitri konovalov Yes, I have suspension, wheels, and some other mods planned. :)
That guy knows his shit!
+De Kay That's why I'm here, Chris and Mike are pros in the air-cooled Porsche world.
Are you going to go back and forth for the duration of the build? Or stick around warm and sunny AZ until the car is ready?

+DriftFX Fantastic!

I can’t believe this was 2 years ago
are they using cellophane wrap to protect the paint? that's so smart I'm going to start doing that when I work on my car
+helllokitty138 It's a dealer style wrap that is used on all types of cars.
supper clean shop
+orlando caballero It's spotless here! I know I chose the right shop when it's this clean.
You got cars on cars on cars my man
+30poundbeast I need to stay busy! One project is never enough. :D
AWESOME!
Very cool! Just subbed
this could be so cool on a slant nose conversion
+Ernesto Picasso Naaa, we're keeping it as is. We like the original look but you're right slant nose is so dope!
+Speed Academy i feel you man! but will be so dope to see it side by side to a sn
Amazing that someone would own a car like that and use mickey mouse parts like those reducers, etc...Hope you get some nice wheels on that classic
How do you improve on a 911 C30 build... like there is no room to go up
Subbed! Good build!
+Russell Cameron Thanks!
Heaven.
+Casey Weaver It certainly is, there are so many amazing Porsche's here I pinch myself sometimes.
Fit for the Pit! Ah, good old Street Cents.
+Sean Donaldson Haha! Glad you caught that. :)
What a beaut
invite nakai san to do the rwb wide body kit

+Vitaliy Tyshkov Thank you!
Amazing
nice pete!
how many cars did you own for now?
this porsche and your evo are really dope
+speedfreaks14 I own too many but this one has been sitting for way too long so it was time to give it some life!
Wow thats awesome. How much money do you guys spend on cars a year?
+Chris Strzelczyk This is our full time business so we definitely spend a lot more than the average individual on cars.
So what's up with that LS V8 in the background?! V8 Porsche in the works?
+lovemy89240 No sir, that's Mike's engine for his 67 Camaro. Fully built LS!
Nice! Is it an original turbo car? or aftermarket kit?
+guvernator23 It's an original Turbo car
PT! How long have you had this car for? Looks awesome. I have wanted one for a long while, but should have bought one 5 years ago. Now they are approaching "new porsche" money...
+Doggepp I've owned it for 4 years now. I bought it before they went crazy with the prices. Otherwise, there's no way I could afford this thing!
Guys should do something with Ammo detailing with his Porsche
+djlolypop That would be very cool!
Soooo you have to S15, evo, Porsche. Any other cars you are hiding or I have missed??
+93grech S14 :) I also have an E39 BMW station wagon, an E28 BMW 528e. :)
