    also typical problem with these wires . the wire's insulation at the tip fail and power is grounded to the metal cover before it reaches the spark plug .

    I love seeing people properly diagnose cars. I own a mk6.5 jetta S with this motor mated to the 0AF transmission. I'm an apprentice mechanic and it bugs me seeing so-called DIYers throwing spark plugs and wires at a car to see if it fixes a misfire. Test, don't guess!

    Hi Eli, do you recommend going to iridium plugs on a 2015 VW Jetta 2.0L gas sohc.?
    I was having engine misfire & flashing check engine light sometimes when I was driving and accelerating, so I replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires and ignition coil as well. Instead of putting in Bosch FR7HE02 which I saw in couple of youtube videos and which are Nickel plugs, I put in NGK ZFR6FIX-11 which are Iridium plugs, Also I replaced the wires with Denso Ignition wire set and Ignition Coil with NGK Ignition Coil.
    I don't have engine misfire or flashing check engine light anymore but I can hear like a sparking sound after some time when the engine starts.
    Do you know where I went wrong?
    Also could you please tell the name & model of the OBD scanner that you used in the video.
    Thank you

      Yes, only if the original spark plugs from manufacturer are Iridium. Sometimes the heat range of Iridium plugs can run too hot.

      It would be nice if you had capable scanner that can read misfire counts to make sure your replacement parts was a fix.

    Thank you for the great video. at 5:59 you say you are connected to chassis ground not the body negative. what does this mean and what is that wire connecting to that is showed on left hand side of vehicle? appreciate the help

    • @EliTheOBDTech
      @EliTheOBDTech  5 місяців тому

      Hey Colin, chasis and body ground is pretty much the same. I was trying to convey that is not good to connect a test to battery negative post, it can cause an explosion to the battery.

    Ive run into this issue and took it to the dealer they told me it was the sparkplugs and valve cover. Does the valvecover have ANYTHING to do with a cylinder 1 misfire? The car doesnt stutter, no loss of power no noticable loss of fuel economy no delayed crank. What do you think?

    • @EliTheOBDTech
      @EliTheOBDTech  5 місяців тому

      Only of the valve cover gasket is leaking oil around the spark plug hole and allowing the plug to get wet with oil.

    Do you know what it could be when my Volkswagen starts shaking because of the engine , like should I just get rid of it then because I don’t know how to fix cars :(

    • @EliTheOBDTech
      @EliTheOBDTech  Місяць тому +1

      It could be many things that can caused engine performance issues such as misfires due to bad ignition coils, plug wires, spark plugs, faulty injectors, faulty intake manifold gasket and worst case scenario mechanical problems such as low compression or faulty head gasket. Other possibilities would be jumped timing chain, faulty VVT control solenoid, cam sensor, crank sensor and faulty MAF sensor.

    • @EliTheOBDTech
      @EliTheOBDTech  Місяць тому +1

      Best thing is to have your vehicle checked out by a professional. If not, get your vehicle scanned by Autozone and have them print you a copy of all codes stored, if any are present.

      @@EliTheOBDTech thank you I got P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected and p0302 Cyl2 misfire P0301 Cyl 1 misfire and P0304 Cyl4 misfire and P0351 ignition coil A primary/secondary circuit and P050B cold start ignition timing and P130A hide cylinder, do you think it’s worth fixing up? Because I feel like the misfires are expensive and I don’t know what to do or if I should just sell it for scraps

    • @EliTheOBDTech
      @EliTheOBDTech  Місяць тому +1

      @@Iebaxos It's hard to say, you need to find the source of the problem first, to determine if it's worth fixing. You may have a jumped timing chain causing these codes or a faulty ignition coil module.
