The Master of Disguise is owned by Columbia Pictures. No copyright infringement intended.
I saw this in the theater when I was a little kid with my dad and the only part of the movie I remember is how angry my dad was on the ride home.
😁😁😁
Hahaha
Lol
imagine waiting all week to clear your head with some good father son time, and you end up wasting your money on this
Worst part:The turtle scene was filmed on 9/11
All jokes aside, i think that Dana Carvey did an amazing job as a master of disguise. No one has ever seen him since that movie.
I see what you did there. ;)
Owie Zowie
Oof
His real name is Mark Cerny xD
I've seen him a million times
We watched this repeatedly at home when I was a little kid, and to this day my mother still unironically loves it.
unironically.
Me too this movie was and still is the best!
This video review has strangely made me WANT to see this.
so does my boyfriend, idk why
Your mother has a peculiar sense of humour. I think mine was scarred for life from seeing it. I remember her calling just to warn me what a piece of trash she'd wasted money to see.
This movie was Carvey's last role until Jack and Jill.
*_Let that sink in_*
He was in Jack And Jill?
@@sydneyslaughter7163 Wait, what? Dana Carvey was in Jack And Jill? Did he owe a debt to the mafia or something?
that sink's been waiting outside for three years now. Won't anybody let it in?
To answer everyone...yeah. Dana Carvey was indeed in Jack and Jill. Poor guy.
Brent Spiner mustve lost a bet with Lavar Burrton loser had do a Dana Carvey movie
Amazingly I used to live with someone who really loved this movie. He also really lived meth and peeing into bottles.
As for the bluish house, it is actually white and gold.
I see what you did there.
"you could say those jokes are aimed at the adults in the audience, but the adults have already left" 😂😂
It was actually a box office success, even though the critics all hated it.
it was aimed at the grown children that liked his dumbass skits from certain "comedy" shows and is just his skits extended into extreme stupidity.
Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club?
Turtle turtle
Tuuurtle
My brothers favorite line 😂😂😂
@@estevanrojas1408 - Dude that's my brother's favorite line too!
I couldn't count how many times I've heard him say it. Lol.
LoL thats thee _exact_ line that drew me into clicking when i saw the thumbnail
Turtle.
Dude that part of the trailer was the shit
La Tortuga. La Tortuga.
Head canon: This movie is a failed holodeck experiment by Data to explore human humor
Error: Comment severely under-rated.
@@jimitaco1303 I concur.
The way it's filmed it even looks like TNG holodeck scenes
That comment was funnier than the movie...
Also, I just noticed this line on the cover: "Disguise the limit" If anyone knows what it means please tell me, 'coz I don't understand!
@@anikmonette2140 It's a play on words with the saying "The Sky is the Limit". Get it? It sounds the same and he's a guy disguising himself.
Yeah, it's not funny ;)
"THEN HE BITES OFF SOME GUYS NOSE..... AND SPITS IT BACK ON TO HIS FACE?"
I still say “turtle....turtle, turtle “ whenever I see a turtle
I have a much deeper infection.. Whenever I see one I say "is he not turtly enough for the turtle club?"
Usually followed by "turtle .. turtle .. turtle".
bruh me too haha
I absolutely loved this movie when I was 9. I was probably my favorite movie, and I felt really mature for enjoying "adult" comedy.
My cousin Michael shared it with us, on his PS2.
Why does Brent Spiner always look more strange when he’s out of his Data makeup?
I'm part of the reason this movie made 43 million. It got my money. I convinced 2 friends to go with me and later apologized to them. Dana's previous work had sold me.
I felt betrayed.
I’m going to be the master of disguise
I’m going to be the master of disguise
I’m going to be the master of disguise
👏
Good Energico!
Not going to lie. I laughed every time he farted.
I know, right? It's like Jackass or Freddie Got Fingered. They are bad movies, but they are also hilarious.
@@DeeDubbCubing FgF is not funny. At all. Not even once.
Timmy would you like some sausage?
I think it's the expression on the other guy's face trying to ignore it. xD
DeeDub: Jackass is a movie?
I got here because of Stuckmann and don't regret it because your videos are amazing!
Same here
Same
Same i love these videos
Same! And have no regrets! Amazing videos
Me too.
When Data looked pleased that he didn't fart then actually did I laughed.
God save me.
I'd so watch this over the Son of the Mask. It tries so little to make any sense or be any good, that it does come across as quite an achievement. Master of Disguise is one of those rare bad comedies that is so bad, it ends up actually being funny!
William Osborne I agree. This movie is quite a rarity when it comes to phenomenally bad movies to the point it's funny
His name is pistachio, he does a shrek AND donkey impression! What else do you NEED????
As someone who likes watching bad movies I'd say Master of Disguise is my Kryptonite. Bad accents, men trying to fake a woman's voice and stupid dialogues in a protagonist's head are my weakness. Jack and Jill, The Host, Mordecai and Master of Disguise are insufferable to me and I'd rather watch crap drying out in the sun than rewatch those!
The problem is that this movie fails at slapstick comedy, according to what the Nostalgia Critic said: Slapstick is funny because of cause and effect: somewhere in the mix, somebody has to suffer. That's the nature of comedy. Now, you can delay the reaction, or have the reaction happen to somebody else, but bottom line, somebody has to be in some form of misery. Carvey, however, throughout the entire film, just smiles this dumbass smile. If he's not gonna be hurt by any pain, then show the reaction of the confused person trying to hurt him. That would be funny, because they're not getting the reaction they wanted. Or if you're playing with the audience's expectation, give a payoff or at least some understanding that that's what you're trying to do. But nope, dumbass smile, that's all we get.
@@anikmonette2140 I agree with the accents, and I know this is maybe a bit nitpicky, but if he is so Italian to the point to have an accent, why does he say "pistacchio" wrong? His own name!
Third fart was funny now come on.
Minchken I found the fart jokes funny.
I loved this movie as a kid, so it holds a special place in my heart 😂
CreepySunflower I think that this movie was intended only for kids , then.
The problem is that this movie makes no sense, and there are TONS of kid movies that make a lot of sense.
Trizzl Fizzl it was just a nostalgic thing, my siblings and cousins would watch it all the time at my mamas house and whenever i think of it i only think of fond memories, not about how bad it is
+CreepySunflower watching this on repeat? you life sounds like it was depressing as hell.
rem299 as a kid, it was good to me. sorry lol
This is one of the most painful things I've ever had to experience. To quote the Nostalgia Critic, "This is the crowning achievement of failure from Happy Madison."
It is only 1% on rotten tomato, I am disappointed.... how can this be worse than After Earth? how??
I dunno, but to each their own, I guess. I also like bad Sy Fy films over bad comedies so maybe it's the kind of mindset that influenced the vote?
trying to be the next Austin Powers basically after his friend's success...
Wayne's World 3 should have happened in 2002
Especially since Mike Myers stole Dr. Evil from Dana Carveys Lorne Michaels impersonation.
@@aidenarkham
Intredasting
@@aidenarkham Yeah lol, Carvey was pretty pissed for a long time about that.
5:08 I'll be honest that phone call part when he said "don't call again" is pretty funny
I have to be honest, those fart scenes still make me laugh.
After watching his Stuckmann Suggests video and hearing you review bad movies, i HAD to check this channel out. After watching your bad review of Jack And Jill, i was hooked. Your bad reviews are fucking priceless.
Thank you!
I feel bad for saying it, but I actually laughed every single time the bad guy farted..I seriously cracked up. The rest of the movie is pure shit, obviously. But somehow...those farts touched my soul.
+Carson H Lol I thought the farted guy made it funny too. I'm also with down syndrome... Why come you laughed?
you shouldn't feel bad! you should feel stupid
An image of your soul, all brown and riddled with farts, just popped into my head. Thanks for that.
"I am the breaking of the wind"
Carson H I thought I was the only one lol
You’ve really hit an all time low when you fail with a fart joke. I’m not gonna lie though, I laughed at the farts. I can’t help it.
It wasn't the farts that were funny it was how woefully stupid the joke was.
I'm dying the farts are too funny I'm sorry it's just too funny
No, you fail when you USE a fart joke.
The timing of those farts is exquisite.
Not gonna lie, I loved this movie as a kid. I thought the dude farting was the funniest shit. Just shows why kids are dumb.
Just Monika You are not alone. I watched this at a friends Birthday party, and I remember all of us just cracking up from this movie.
It’s part of that nostalgia now, so I just can’t see it as anything separate from the great memory. So it still cracks me up every time.
For some reason when I was little, this movie was my shit. Cheesy, campy, and stupid movies have always appealed to me to some extent, I guess.
I watched this movie every Saturday for like 3 months straight as a kid. My parents hated it.
Dumb is such a negative expression, "innocently naive which allows them to enjoy certain kinds of stuff better than adults" sounds nicer.
@@PeterSwinkels But if I don't hold child me to the standards of adult me in order to cringe at and despise myself for my past behaviors, then what's supposed to torment me at 3AM and keep me from sleeping?!? Have you even considered that showing self compassion or acceptance reduces the amount of self hatred and mental anguish (that I've been conditioned to believe I deserve) I experience?!? Eww, no thanks!
(If it's not clear because it's hard to convey tone online, I actually think that your comment is pretty solid, and that myself and many others ought to practice some more self compassion.)
"Need more bad movies..."
As long as M. Night Shymalan is around, you've got a career.
The Love Guru is terrible, that should be next. Love this channel
Oh goodness, wasnt that just a waste of 1hr and 30 mins that I won't get back lol
I'll add it to the list, thanks!
Bullshit. That movie is great.
Love guru is hilarious
I remember seeing this movie in like grade 3 and thought it was hilarious
Jepprey Stilthool same. “Am I not turtlely enough for the turtle club?” Became a joke in my house 😂
You were a dumb kid.
Justin Coleman he was like 7 lmao
Fun Fact: Dana Carvey made up the turtle scene during the 3 hour turtle suit and makeup preparation. The cast admitted that most of the scenes weren't written before performing them on the DVD commentary and most of the movie is improvised.
It explains so much.
Also, I wish I could have gotten one of Mark's shirts.
He's an improvisational comedian, that's what he does. Genius.
I non-ironically love the living hell out of this movie. It's indefinitely quotable.
_Indefatigably_ quotable.
This is the only movie I ever walked out on. Left and snuck into My Big Fat Greek Wedding...
7/8 of the movie.
Doug Cowley I like your matthew Patel pic
I actually liked My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I watched the commentary version of the movie and it made it really enjoyable.
You actually paid to see this in a theater? God. I at least just rented it from hollywood video. When it wasn't even a new release, when I could get it for 50 cents.
@@medexamtoolscom at least he snuck in a better movie lol.
I watched that movie and while it wasn't good, I thought it was purposely being goofy
Of course it was. But a movie can be goofy and still genuinely funny, or it can be goofy and painfully cringe-worthy.
I think you're kind of missing the point of the Turtle Club scene. The point is supposed to be that Dana is pretty incompetent and thinks the club is actually about turtles, and that's why he chose a turtle costume. I loved this movie as a kid, no idea why everyone hates it and takes it so seriously. It was meant to be a goofy kid's movie.
Because it's garbage.
cause its shit. your nostalgia and/or horrid sense of humor is preventing you from realizong that
@@WHATISUTUBE yikes this is the fanbase of this guy's channel a bunch of keyboard warriors with low self esteem lmao
Just because it’s a kids movie that doesn’t excuse it for it’s stupidity
The master of disguise is basically a movie saying “look how much characters I can do”
I genuinely didnt know this movie was so universally hated. I love it, still own a copy that I watch from time to time.
as soon as I saw Adam Sandler was involved in the production of this movie I knew why it was shit
adam sandwich is ur favourate
Lord DIO
Adam was involved in the production of Grandma's Boy too, and that movie is awesome.
Lord DIO explains all
Hell yes it was
You should have known it from the previews and plot summary. With the exception of wayne's world, there is nothing that dana carvey isn't involved in which isn't pure dogshit, but when it's about him tooting his own horn with his "talent" for random stupid characters, TBH it seemed like he was just being a 2nd rate copier of Ernest (Jim Varney) in that.
I'm going to come out and say it, I liked Master of Disguise, I thought it was funny, and I think it really showcased a lot of Dana Carvey's skills for impersonation.
I stand with you!
Me too
Kids can watch jaws it's PG
You need to understand that the rating system was kind of different back then, meaning that in a lot of PG-rated movies at the time, they had content back then that wouldn't be suitable for PG-rated movies now, so at least some of the parents of today who enjoy movies wouldn't show this movie to their kids until their tween or teen years or something. Heck, revisiting the first Short Circuit movie again from the 80s, I was admittedly surprised they used the word 'shit' in it. Not that it bothered me personally, but I can totally see some parents being ticked off by that.
it's so funny how the rating system has changed over the years. some of the stuff in the 80s that had a PG rating would easily be rated R now. Honestly I think in ALOT of ways the rating system was better back then. imagine if the ORIGINAL Ghostbusters was rated PG-13. It wouldn't have had the following it does now, because I think I (and ALOT of its fans) was about 5 when I saw it and loved it. Had it been PG-13 ( if it came out today it would definitely receive a PG-13) my parents, and many others would NOT have taken their young kids to see it. The same goes for dozens of other movies back then
Jaws isn't bad. If you think it is, you're just like every secure person in America.
Ty Pallotta 'Jaws isn't bad.' Huh? Nobody in this thread is saying it's a bad movie. What on earth are you talking about? If that's not what you're referring to, I guess you're referring to how you think "Jaws' isn't bad for kids, which in this case, I'm sorry but, that's entirely subjective. Not every kid can handle it. Also, you make it sound like being 'secure' is a bad thing, and I'm not entirely sure why. :/
octupusman1000 Americans are the only people who are secure about every little thing. I was talking about how Jaws is appropriate for those who can handle it, by the way. Blood is part of nature, it's sad how many of you people are hiding it from children. They need to get used to seeing it or they'll freak out while they learn about history.
This is a part of the early 2000's holy trinity. Master of disguise, Joe Dirt and Bubble Boy.
Terry Suave: “ this is what you’re doing; this is what I want you to do.”
Devlin Bowman: “ did you just tell me to shut up?”
Terry Suave: “yeEs”
Probably the only funny moment in the movie IMO.
Hahahahahaa. I was seriously laughing at every scene. The fart scenes were super funny. I love the laugh and the random fart sound. He does a good job making that funny. LOL
This movie is kind of a guilty pleasure for me.
Same here lol

One time, my sister's best friend forced us to watch this movie. She said "You have got to see how retarded this movie is." We saw it, and to this day MoD is the WORST movie I have ever seen.
Yo this was my shit as a kid. The fart jokes were honestly my favorite. I also mimic people the same way Pistachio does. I don't know. I'm garbage.
The fart jokes in this movie are actually good in this movie tho
lol this movie was my childhood i loved it man
XArsonalXWTF Me too!!
XArsonalXWTF same!!!
Yep
Your childhood sucked and you don't even know it. This is like someone bragging that eating spider eggs out of the spider webs in the corners of the rooms was his childhood. You poor baby. You don't know how bad you had it.
@@medexamtoolscom eww you're one of those people.
Discovered your videos months ago and I was hooked ever since. I am a movie buff myself, so I find your videos and humour hilarious. I love each and every video you produce, keep up the great work.
I actually like Master of Disguise. Its just a movie I like to turn to when I want really ridiculous humor. The movie is so stupid that I get good laughs out of it. I lost my shit at the scene where he takes the cheating boyfriend down, and when he goes to walk out of the cafe with the girl, the black guy stands up and starts going, "YO MAN, YOU BEAT THAT GUY'S A.." and then Pistachio pushes him to the side, making him flip over a table!
+Scottie Currie (NerdKing) Thats awesome dude! I totally support you bro... participants like you are the reason I donate to the Special Olympics. YES YOU CAN, little faced man!
Get this guy a plate of mac and cheese (not too hot, it's going to go everywhere,) and a plastic spork.
Why do people think "oh, you laughed at that? you must not be very smart".
I'm very smart, and I still laugh at this movie. People who do find it funny just have a different sense of humor.
CocosNewCostume I completely agree. I'm not going to say this is a good movie (because frankly, it's not. It's terrible!) but it's still hard worked on, has funny jokes, and left a lasting impression on me. It's a great movie to watch with a few friends and then question what the fuck you just watched afterwards
This sort of thing just makes me really sad.
How to fix this movie:
- step one: make it a movie about the legacy of Arsène Lupin, cat burglar gentleman and master of disguise.
- step two: make the heir notoriously and humorously incompetent at the thieving job. Also make him unintentionally offensive and causing havoc in public places.
- step three: have the main character find his final calling as a climax, the theme of the movie being "be excellent at what you have as a natural talent instead of living in somebody's shadow"
Yeah, there are probably many other things to fix, but this is a good start.
God, I remember loving this movie as a kid. Literally rewatching it multiple times per day. Watching current day reviews of this film - I feel so bad for my mother and have an entirely new level of respect for dealing with this being played every day of all things I could have been watching. LMFAO

This was actually really popular among kids in early 2000's
It was... _all_ over the playground.

turtle turtle..
turtle....
SHELL TIME hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I'm gonna say that as a child I watched this movie and it was funny to me. I don't think it was intended for this generation. I just think this is just for people who do not really care about a decent plot, all they want to do is just watch a movie and laugh at silly jokes. This was a good movie for me as a child... After earth sucked when it came out, it sucked when i watched it, and future generations will ban that movie from playing anywhere. My thoughts.
@Aiden King the debuh
Man, I loved this movie. I don't know if the reason my siblings and I liked this movie is because we're all idiots or because we all have the same sense of humor people get when their parents aren't around lol
i really feel bad for Brent Spiner. he probably heard the name Dana Carvey and was like "IM IN!!!" and signed his not Star Trek career away.
This movie was the best I loved absolutely everything about ot. It's flawless to me

This movie was my childhood so I loved it and sometimes we still quote it 😂 I blame my parents.
I like how Mark is actually angry at this movie for existing
This movie came out when I was in the 2nd grade, and I remember every one at school talking about how hilarious it was. It makes total sense seeing a review on it years later.
I can't believe james brolin was like yup this is the movie for me.
I'm the only person in the world who actually likes this movie😂😂
This is one of those chain of Saturday night live movies back in the 80s and 90s where they just took a Saturday night live skit and stretched it to a 90 minute run time.
I was one of the guys on the team who built the lunar module for this film. When asked if we wanted to see the movie, we all said no. I think it's at a museum on So Cal now.
I know this movie is terrible, but I'll never stop loving it. To this day i quote the 'Turtle' and 'the slap' scenes because their just hilarious to me.
Nah man this was a funny movie. I took my nephews out to see it and they were laughing out loud. The entire theater was laughing.
Hahahahhaa
The only time I laughed at the fart joke was when Mark did it at the end. I genuinely cracked up.
I love this guy...
By the way this movie looks HORRENDOUS!
This movie feels like the result of Dana Carvey and his Snl friends getting together, smoking a dangerous amount of weed, and writing down whatever came to mind
"This is what you're doing....this is what I want you to do."
"Did you just tell me to shut up?"
"Yeeeeeeeeeesss!"

Well, since you did after earth and I saw lady in the water on the list, why not do last air bender also?
On master of disguise, I saw that movie in theaters. Paid for that crap. I was so fucking disappointed, and so were my brother and sister that I never got to choose a movie for nearly 4 years (when going with them). It was the worst movie I've ever chosen to see in theaters besides Bucky Larson born to be a star.
I saw Bucky in the theater too...I don't know what I was thinking...I think maybe I was hoping for something like Grandma's Boy (as a gamer, I thought that movie was funny)
***** Wow, can't believe I missed it. Been subscribed for a year + now so it's kind of embarrassing >.<
***** I've never seen grandma's boy. Is it worthwhile?
MOS
As a gamer I thought some of the comedy was hilarious, there's a part where the main character masturbates to a Lara Croft doll and his friend's mom walks in on him. There's also a hilarious part where he gets so stoned that he forgets to wear over mitts when taking his food out of the oven. It's not a brilliant movie by any means but I thought it was pretty funny for what it was
***** Sounds like a movie that someone would laugh at, not with. I'm inclined to give it a shot Lol.
***** It's a red light when you see happy madison before the movie begins Lol.

Dana Carvey said in an interview that he made this movie specifically for his kids. I actually like this one.
And we _thank_ him for it.
You should do steel with Shaquille o'neal

Add it to the hit list.
To be honest I grew up watching this movie, I always thought the whole point is that it doesn’t make any sense. Then once I hit my stoner days I REALLY grew to love this movie, it’s just so ridiculously out there and dumb, I love it
Am I the only person that liked this movie lol
Nope. I love this movie too. i don't understand the hate....oh well.
I liked this movie a lot, the guy is just dumb for bashing it and doesn't have a sense of humor.

I loved this movie too
I know i love this movie.
"Disguiseys all wear black underneath"- and actual part of the dvd commentary. I want it on my grave stone
Carvey's contributions to Wayne's World dazzled producers, and after that movie made a bucket of money, this is what you get when they gave him carte blanche to write his own movie, expecting a repeat. They sold it on the turtle scene in previews somehow, which is one of the most amazing feats of all movie history.
You should do The Cat in the Hat
Yeah
Oh my goodness. I hope he does.
This movie made me laugh when it came out and it still makes me laugh today. 10/10.
This movie was my shit as a kid!
I thought the Turtle Club thing was because he had no clue what a turtle club was, so assumed that dressing as a turtle would help him blend in because his character was a total dumbass, but in an innocent, sheltered way, but it's been years, hell, over a decade at this point, since I habitually rewatched this movie.
My older brother at least obsessively rewatched Peewee's Big Adventure when he was little, he had good taste from a young age, I guess. To be fair, I also obsessively rewatched Jim Henson's Labyrinth, so while I liked some dumb shit, I also liked some good shit too.
Hollywood noticed that Dana Carvey is great at impressions so they haded him some cash and a script with 200 pages of "Dana does an impression of some sort".
Honestly though I would rather watch this on a 24 hour loop before even considering watching the dumpster fire that is son of the mask.
I FREAKING LOVE this movie. Its so nostalgic. Me and my sisters use to watch this movie all the time and just quote this movie.
BEST ENDING !HAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHA *farts* (ಠ_ಠ)
I actually really like this movie. It's not "clever" funny, but the writing is incredibly weird and nonsensical and the sets and props are pretty neat to look at. ... Honestly... It feels like a "sh*tpost".

The female lead in this movie is one of the most gorgeous creatures to ever live'ah.
