@@spybird5870 not sure on the no lock on. I think Lobos wouldn't find that a fun run since these runs are not that difficult or interesting once you have a decent weapon.

Easily my favourite weapon. The base form is fast, and the tricked form has reach. The tricked form is also great for hitting multiple targets, and it's serrated. Both forms also leave your off hand free for other weapons.

@@96Thompson I know... I was going along with the video's joke of how he didn't bother reading the tutorials. It really doesn't matter that much, he's a comedy channel. And the Souls games are ultimately really unintuiive for newbies. They explain nothing but the very bare minimum, and just pressing buttons is a good way to accidentally waste all your items - like what happened when he did try that.

SC, HA, and TC seem to be minimally better with speed, power, and range respectively. But they are all good weapons and I was mostly exaggerating because it has the lowest damage of the 3, no shade just jokes

This game is super fun (as are all the souls games) once you learn the controls. I would recommend continuing a playthrough of one of the games if you enjoyed this, since in my opinion it only gets better as you get more powerful equipment. And, as many comments have said, you can lock on, perform light attacks, etc.

You actually got pretty far! I hope you decide to continue this one; one very important tip I can give you is press R3 to lock onto enemies. That way your character will aim at them with your gun and threaded cane, and you can dodge much faster. There are other tips in the hunter's dream, I really hope you continue playing this game!
On top of being able to lock on like others have said, the gun(extremely useful if locked on btw) is for parrying, it doesn't do a lot of damage otherwise unless the enemy is very weak. If you time it right you can shoot an enemy during their attack to stun them and allow for a visceral attack(just use a regular attack while they're stunned) for huge damage. Oh, and switch your weapon back to its normal mode in tight spaces to avoid hitting nearby objects instead of the enemy. The transformed mode generally has more power and range, but takes longer to swing and is prone to hitting environmental objects and uses more stamina, while the untransformed mode swings faster, uses less stamina, and has a much lower chance of hitting things other than the enemy.

I'm also forgotten too even when I was in school I was forgotten many times by my class and teachers. you make the best characters
I got this game last August and had the exact same experience. Took me 4 hours to get past this part but eventually I progressed slowly and half way through the game it just clicked and I've since finished it 5 times even though I hardly ever replay games.
Just lock on and study attack patterns so you can dodge and hit. Be aggressive but not greedy.

You technically can run past any enemy you don’t want to fight. Like when you start the game you can kill the werewolf with no weapon or just run past him you also don’t need to die at the beginning to get your first set of weapons what I did was just run past everyone and opened up the shortcut for fighting father Gascoigne, and then light the candle and teleport to get your weapons.
Just got home from work. Heated up dinner, turned on my xbox, pulled up UA-cam, clicked on this video, found out TV volume was at 36 (normally watch UA-cam set at 15). Kevin goes "this is feckin loud!" In the first 3 seconds of the video.
