if you're looking to expand your knowledge i'd suggest looking into 3d modeling and rendering. I recently started doing my 3d modeling, and sculpting in VR (very fun) then lighting, texturing and rendering in Blender on pc. The posibilities are endles once you know the basics

For background: I think watching Critical Role play Dungeons and Dragons on youtube is perfect as a background because it’s so nice to listen to a group of friends improv acting something they all enjoy, and because it sparks creativity so much to hear all those great places and characters described. In addition, it incorporates many different kinds of moods from hilarious comedy, atmospheric mystery, fantasy, and even spooky horror, with great background music, too - perfect for atmospheric paintings that match that mood. I recommend starting with campaign 2! ❤

One thing that I have noticed with your art is that the charactes look quite samey to me. Your rendering is incredible and your linework is gorgeous. But you could definitely explore with drawing different kind of people. Most of them have same features, V angeled eyes, big lips, very slender necks and strong jawlines. I understand wanting to draw what appeals to you, but you definitely can draw beautiful people who look different. I'm not saying just different hair color or texture, I mean the bone structure and age. Hope this doesnt come of as mean, I mean this as fan of your work, and as a chance to grow more out of your comfort zone, making your work even better ❤

I agree with maybe making this a series! And maybe try environments that you're less comfortable or familiar with, like for example a very cold and ethereal piece as opposed to this warmth? Could be seasonal or something :) Also I think the only way to keep getting that feeling like you've peaked is to clean out the cobwebs of what you're scared to do, learn it, and peak even higher! Best of luck! I love following your art journey ☺

I love re-watching TV Shows that I have seen more than once! Shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer! It is so easy to follow along because I know the show so well! I suggest you try the same? DO you watch shows over and over? My Wife and I watch Gilmore Girls while dinner is being made it is easy to follow along and we have seen them so many times! We even know dialog and quote it often even while it is not on! I have not made any digital artworks since 2018! I have gone back to paper and canvas or even boards! Traditional methods are my way to work these days! I have made a couple of prints after digitizing them and that has been the extent of my digital art creation!
I hope you try some creations with D&D in mind. Why not try to create some new characters? Just visit any D&D playbook! You can use them as a starting point and with your style I am sure they would be wonderfully successful!

This is a beautiful piece and through the years seeing how you’ve improved has always been inspiring. Honestly I find it most fun to mix things randomly or use a list generator. Write down all of your favorite things, whatever is most inspiring (I’d have fantasy/mythology, animals, colors, etc) and just… see what happens. I do really like the idea of going back to things you enjoyed in your childhood because those tend to be the most innocent memories. Your favorite equipment at the park, books you read to bring you into another world, even just favorite treats that you can easily incorporate into a piece. Put yourself back in that fun mindset and enjoy the nostalgia~

Honestly I don't know if I have a favourite piece from recent years, I just find all your art so pretty ❤
But as someone who has the opposite problem, I have too many ideas and not enough practice, motivation or skill, one of the best ways to get new ideas is to join art challenges. Especially if you do full painting for the challenge vs just sketches or doodles, it can truly push you to think of scenes to fit the themes. I also get a lot of inspiration from movies or books, but I understand if you don't want to do fan art. Just working on studies of Screencaps you like could help, basically work on cinematography and storytelling. Maybe try some animation! It would probably help with storytelling so you can create more interesting scenes for your original paintings. I think like that's what you feel it's missing from your art right now. I don't know if any of that is helpful, but I wish you the best of luck in your art journey! I'm sure we'll love any painting you come up with.

I love listening to Rotten Mango's videos/podcasts (Stephanie Soo) in the background. They are mostly related to crime stuff and can be a bit heavy but they are super long and I love them!

What an adorable painting, Sara!! 😍 So whimsical & nostalgic & cute!! 🍓🫐🍒 I love it & I'm sure you'll find inspiration for more pieces like this if that's what you want!! Maybe a "Fruit Fairy" series or something... you could experiment with different fruits & their colors/palettes!! LOL 🤩 Also, I would 100% buy a print of this painting... Do you have any plans this year to reopen your shop?? 🥰 Love your videos!! ❤️

I like to re watch Star Trek, Gilmore Girls, house, and bones when I need to have background noise while drawing. I have autism and adhd so I totally get the need for the right show in the background for drawing. I think we are around the same age so hopefully they suit you I know I can’t get into anything new but that could just be me and not a generational thing haha

Absolutely amazing Sara! What you discuss in this video is so relatable and I know very well that feeling of believing that you've peaked at something and then henceforth you try to recreate that high that you got, but either fail to do so, or just being overly self-critical when future works don't quite match up
