I have 1 of each class, but captain was one of the last classes I made cause I was a major solo player for so many years, and I just never understood captain in a solo context. Trying it again with fresh eyes I enjoy it, but they definitely excel most in group settings. Great vid!
Captain is hands down my favorite class that I played in LOTRO, I started playing in 2009 and played through Riders of Rohan, I have came back to it a few times but the grind is still real! When I think of my favorite class I've played in any game before or since LOTRO, it's hands down my Cappy! I really loved my cappy before Dunland and the DPS boost after Dunland dropped was an awesome feeling, man it hit like a truck! Miss this game sometimes! Wish I had time to play it but kids and work prevent it now. Great video!
I have tried Captain a couple of times, but at low levels the cooldowns really stink and always end up deleting them. At what level do the amount of skills you acquire start to make the cooldowns less problematic.
Lol my keybindings i remeber it all! I keybinded that whole skill bar so I just know what to press & use took a while for me to get adjusted but I can't play any other way lol!
Hello! I have been playing with captain class for ten years. After SSG everything went up up up. So generally I little lost my appetite about enjoying LOTRO. Because this game was unique among the other MMORPG games. Based on lore was making this game so special that every skill when we were using it was epic. Let me open what i am talking about. I am gonna give examples from only captain class for now. Do you remember when Lurtz vs Aragorn fight? Aragorn pressed time of need skill and suddenly increases speed and ripping his arm. So when I was playing with red cappy it was like moving like Aragorn in Middle Earth. When I got 53 trait points I was so happy to get last skill at the bottom Oathbreakers shame. So just like Aragorn, we captains were summoning oathbreakers. Which is great. What about yellow captain? Remember when Merry asks ''where is Frodo?'' Then suddenly Aragorn sees Boromir left his light shield at the campsite. So eventually tanky captain Boromir without shield he couldnt endured much with last stand skill. King Theoden is blue captain right? Do you remember when Theoden sees mumaks charging? He yells: ''reform the lines'' Yes friends look at the blue trait at the bottom you will see that skill there. Captain when was using that skill he was giving %40 morales entire fellowship and loses his own%11 morales. Which was make sense. Then Theoden as you know he died on the battlefield. Nowadays with SSG's blue captain is like cartoon character. Whatever you use any heal skills you dont lose any morales anymore. Because this trait like no more based on lore. It's just an ordinary MMORPG game character now. They did same thing to lore masters. They dont lose any morales anymore while using their magical skills. Anyway Nowadays we hearing that SSG gonna rewamping captain class again. I have no hope that they gonna make something better from the lore window. Imagine you have noble mark self heal skill on yellow line. But tracery gives you physical mastery instead of mitigation :)
Played this game for 12 years... Always been a captain main. Can't bring myself to really play this game again. So sad 'cos its actually really good but played it way to long. Don't like the direction they are taking it in.
I def understand you & your frustration! I'm a baby in this game been playing for a Year so i didn't go through the massive changes like you Vets did but idef understand the feeling since it happened to some of my other MMOS i used to main!
So you dont like YOUR decision to play solo 99% of the time? lol nice :) I know people that didnt play one second of classic wow solo. I'm guessing your main game was gw2 or something? While i liked the "social" or "group" aspect of that kind of game, it really isnt social. In reality its as social as a random bg or random dungeon. (group content right?) You normally won't even see people greet each other when the group forms.
My experience lvling & playing as a captain! 1st of many CLASS VIDEOS! Enjoy Lotro Community!

Hey man! I've been with your channel for a long time, since you've started your LOTRO series. Keep up the work!
Thanks man!

Bro like around the 30s it takes time but worth it.
Great summary! I agree with your comment that this is a "moderate" class. It is certainly not as complex to play as Warden or Lore-master.
Thanks! Yeah LM is ADVANCED to the max lol
@@ChaotixPR brawler is even more advanced than LM skill wise. So many skill interactions
Hi. great video. What is your outfit that your wearing? I have a captain too and trying to put together a unique outfit.
Hi! How did you make the size of the quest tracker font bigger without blurring it with the ui scale option?
I scaled it by itself option in ui settings, u can scale certain aspects so I messed with it until it was readable & big
@@ChaotixPR thx :)
Your skill bar gives me so much stress lol how do you use that?? Your skills are everywhere! Love the video though! :)
Lol my keybindings i remeber it all! I keybinded that whole skill bar so I just know what to press & use took a while for me to get adjusted but I can't play any other way lol!
@@ChaotixPR Hey if it works for you thats what matters ;D
@@athenaschosen7646 I'll make you play with my hotbars one day hahah!

My only criticism of captain is that they deserve a higher ranking name, like colonel or general.
That would be cool!
What is the name breastplate of outfit ?

This reminds me a lot of classic wow - solo 99% to end game, week after week after week...other than skirmishes. Meh.
I always have a group to play with unless I'm recording doing dungeons and landscape find a active kin you won't solo this game at all!
BIG DIFFRENCE is this game has an actual story to follow that you get invested into haha. Never got that with classic wow tbh.
So you dont like YOUR decision to play solo 99% of the time? lol nice :) I know people that didnt play one second of classic wow solo. I'm guessing your main game was gw2 or something?
