    Here are my 10 laws of plantar fasciitis recovery that I’ve used to help a lot of people recover from plantar fasciitis.
    #1 Stop Icing, taking anti inflammatories and getting steroid injections. They slow down the healing processes. Inflammation isn’t the main problem.
    #2 Don’t freak out. The amount of pain does not equal the amount of damage. having the right perspective helps
    #3 Don’t take a step in the morning without getting some circulation going in the feet first.
    #4 Don’t wear shoes that mess your feet up. Wide in the toes, flat or low heel, least amount of cushion you are comfortable with
    #5 improve calf mobility.
    #6 Massage your calves
    #7 strengthen calves and feet. Use the Alfredson's protocol
    #8 Reduce SYSTEMIC inflammation
    #9 Get lots of good sleep
    #10 Go Barefoot. Start small once your pain is a little better, microdose it until you can handle more.

    Nice list, I am doing all what you mentioned which has been helping me. But I would add the most important thing is resting and if you have to be on your feet for a long period of time then it’s good to soak your feet with hot water and Epsom salt by the end of the day

    I find that icing helps. And little stretching but big comfy gym shoes like Hoka or Adidas Bounce with added inserts relive the pain so much!!! And staying off my feet after standing all day at work

      Thanks for these tips…I haven’t iced yet, but I will as soon as I can. I did just order some HOKA & they should arrive to me tomorrow. I really want to get back to my walking!! I need to also look into these inserts you speak of.

      @@Erica-et4yeI don’t recommend icing if you have plantar fasciitis it slows down the healing process like he says, trust me I’ve tried it. Instead what you wanna do is the opposite, soak your feet in hot water and add epsom salt to increase blood circulation in your feet. Speeds up the healing process

      I heard the same thing about Hoka shoes, but they actually made my pain worse. Spend $180 and it hurts a lot. I'm gonna return them and get something else.

      @@zuheebzakria2837 the hokas are the best, make sure you are getting proper size and width. Also with Hokas you have to train your feet to press down with your big toes because the Hokas naturally make your feet slide on the pinky toe side of your feet but if you get proper shoe size for Hoka and correct walking with them then it will give you maximum relief

    All well and good, but what about those of us with both plantar fasciitis AND progressed neuropathy (over 25 years worth)? Put the two together and it's horrible. (non-diabetic)

    Walking barefoot, is horrible, burning in jabbing and tearing

    Do you think I can return back to skimboarding after taking the time to heal my PF? Or is beach activity a NO

    • @StronglifePhysiotherapy
      @StronglifePhysiotherapy  5 місяців тому

      Let pain be your guide. A little pain during an activity is usually OK, but if it flares up during or after especially if you have increased pain into the next day that was too much. Once it heals you can definitely return to skim boarding. Walking in the sand barefoot is very good at helping to strengthen the foot but you may have to wait a bit if it's too painful.

      Your foot is constraint to the modern shoe, your feet to be stretched and strengthen. Your body is meant to go barefoot, and if you have shoes they should be shoes that have the natural shape of the foot. Going barefoot has made my plantar fascitis go away and including exercise. Using orthotics it's just like band-aid just like using cushion shoes and arched supported shoes. You'll never get rid of the problem only temporarily numb it. Modern shoes make your afilies short, restrain muscles in your feet which affect your clave and etc. It's really interesting how everything works. It's like a pullie system. I recommend you look into it more. It helped me a lot.

    Stop Icing why! Everybody keeps saying something different don’t think any doctor actually understand the condition some why no ice!!?

    • @StronglifePhysiotherapy
      @StronglifePhysiotherapy  11 місяців тому +1

      Ice is for inflammation, chronic plantar fasciitis doesn’t have inflammation. Ice also restricts blood flow, you actually want more blood flow to help it heal.
