    Hutch is the one who got me into chess about 2 years ago. I didn't even know how pieces moved, but now I'm ~1250 on chess.com! Thanks for getting me into the game, Hutch!

    Love this series Hutch! Haven't had much time to play chess myself lately since I'm a freshman in college, but you doing this series is getting me back into it! Hope I can finally get to meet you at some point when you move out to LA :D

    It was one of the more subtle statements Tal said that got me thinking....when he mentions he doesn't look for the best move out of the bunch, but instead tries to eliminate one of them....that actually blew my mind lol....if you find a flaw in a move you don't play it, but if you look for "why it's a good move" you are possibly comparing multiple reasons why they are good, but you just need to find ONE flaw to say "Nope!"...Might just be the breakthrough I needed. Thanks for the vids!

    This new approach is MUCH better. I felt before Tal was practically playing for you at points, where as this approach taught me a lot. Thanks for the change!

    watching Hutch and playing on Chess.com has really been helping me out, I play the bots a lot and I've only been able to beat a level 4 bot but from where I've started only about 2 weeks ago, I've really improved.

    To all the sceptics out there who think Tal is cheating. Currently Tal is playing the GRENKE chess open, one of the biggest 'non-online'' chess tournaments in the world (link: chess24.com/en/watch/live-tournaments/grenke-chess-open-2017). He is playing in a pool with some of the highest rated GMs (e.g Richard Rapport) on the planet and is currently ranked 30th out of 714 after nine games. The average rating for the top 100 is about 2550. Given, he still he is still a piece of shit for cheating in the past, he still clearly knows what he is talking about and he is proving it right now.

  • @bont3
    @bont3 7 років тому

    at 27:12 if he would have played knight D5 attacking the queen you could take the bisshhh as hutch likes to call it but would he have a good fork attacking the rooks by moving his knight to C7... Even if Hutch moves his bisshhh and you could capture his rook sacrificing your knight white created an isolated pawn on the D file weakening the pawn on the D file and by that weakening the bissshh of hutch on the C file. probably still a losing position for white but I'm always anxious about losing a rook even though I get a bisshhh and a knight

    Can you explain the move at 4:25

  • @mes20
    @mes20 7 років тому

    Not sure why but in the first match, why not take the knight with your castle? Either they'd take your castle with theirs and you could use your queen to get check mate or you could use your castle to take their castle and get check mate?

    How on earth is he 2100 rated ? when hes only 13 or 1400 in chess.com ???????

    • @Tamim1994
      @Tamim1994 7 років тому

      chess.com has better players overall, and he has a GM watching him and constantly makes him aware of his opponents threats/blunders and gives him advice for his next move. I'd say his over-the-board rating is like 1100-1200

      Geeko_WW that is a compelling argument, but it should also be known that he beat Magnus Carlsen at blitz during one of his streams, he's probably better than he's given credit for

    • @abek3502
      @abek3502 7 років тому

      i guess i didn't know about the other times he used an engine. he seemed pretty sincere and sad in his apology imo, i doubt he'll do it again. it's probably stressful for him making a living off of chess especially when he's representing his country
