Making Mud Pies on Cleanup Day

Saturday afternoon on the Kioti CS2520, moving material and clearing the deck with the FE loader and box blade. Preparing the site for the next big dig…SPOILER ALERT - I get stuck. Guest appearance by the HF Trencher.
I need clear, level ground to layout and dig the French drain. I’m a mere weekend warrior - I don’t have time to let all the clay dry out and solidify. Nope - I charge right in. I only regret the camera was not on me when the left wheels sank. With box blade on the three point, I nudge too far forward and the only way out of a trough full of mud pudding is engaging the rear differential. Then I’m grounded. But not long.

funny, when we're kids we love making mud pies, then when we are "old men" we still love playing in the dirt. LOL

Hello. I have a cs2510 tractor 25 hp. I did get a backhoe with mine. 3 thing I don't like. 1 is getting off all the time to work the backhoe. 2 the front end is so low. If not careful you get stuck. 3 and worse thing is the front tires. You don't realize the front tires are flat tell you have 400 to 500 pounds in bucket. I messed up the side wall on one tire. I did get foam feeled. It would have cost about 150.00. Because the tire was messed up. Had to replace. So 2 tires and foam feel was 350.00.

I didn’t need the backhoe bc I already had the trencher. Otherwise it would have been a hard call not just because of the price but also because it looked like even more of a pain to take on and off than the other 3pt attachments.

@@shawnebaines8276 I have the backhoe. But if I had to do it over I would have went a different direction. It's not that bad to take off. When I put back on I'll tell you how hard it is. I have a mini excavator 1ton. It can do so much more with out getting off. I think your little digger is easier to get around then the backhoe. The only way the tractor is easyer if you are digging a straight line. I wish I had a frail mower, stump grinder. But that's me.

@@jtsokiehobbyandadventures6666 I think my next implement will probably be a landscape rake. I cam get it fairly smooth with the box blade but it’s hard to get it perfect.

I'm trying to decide between this tractor and the CX2510. We have 3.5 acres. Main thing is going to be hauling feed for animals, tilling a garden and getting then keeping my driveway in good shape with gravel spread. Would this be enough?

For me it is. The loader, with the bucket, has around an 800lb capacity. I have a larger piece of property I’ll be moving this to when I’m done with this grading. On this property I don’t have the space to maneuver anything bigger. The box blade works great. Im editing a video now about using it. The most expensive attachment I bought is the PTO driven rotary tiller. I haven’t even tried it yet. Pallet forks have been really useful. If you get a tractor be sure to get those. I’ve been very happy. I’ve heard people say get the biggest tractor you can afford, but larger for me was impractical.
