Throughout the ENTIRE soundtrack, you never have to wait more than 10 seconds for a new riff. It's constantly slapping you with new things, always fast, always fresh. Absolutely amazing.
I really love how little concerned the composers are with making the music sound difficult. The soundtrack has its fair share of a MIDI timeline’s equivalent of shredding in tracks like The Death I Deservioli, but they weren’t afraid to make one of the biggest motifs in the game an incredibly basic repeating line. So many songs try to sound impressive by filling every space with crazy runs that they lose sight of what would be the most enjoyable, or try to be so simple that even someone who’s spent a month sort of trying to learn piano can play along.
Just like in any art form. You add what you think is cool, but then you trim the fat until you can't trim anything without compromising it's Identity. This was a mentality applied to one of my favorite songs of all time "Under Pressure" which had a sound so good it got stolen LOL.
Fun fact: The “circus music” is actually a classical song composed by Julius Fucik called “Entry of the Gladiators” and was not meant to be a silly song like it is considered today.

I really love the idea of a music teacher reacting to video game music, it's literally golden, especially when the teacher reacts to the WHOLE OST, amazing content.
What's funny is that, when I was watching this, an ad appeared that happened to have the taunt sound from Pizza Tower. If I had a nickel for every time it appeared in an ad, I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot, but its weird it happened twice.
i love things like this 1:26:45 where i'm actually learning stuff. i think there can be a lot of pressure on youtube to do more than "just" reaction content, but i'ma be real, i mainly come to these sorts of videos to see people loving the same things i love because it activates my neurons real good. so i don't mind that you don't have a whole lecture to give after every single track (if that's even something you ever worry over), and i really appreciate the little tidbits here and there that we do get. 3:09:15 is another great example
Seeing Pizza Time Never Ends get a standing ovation was awesome ^ ^ And getting so moved you started to jam in!! That's how you know you're really touched by art ❤
I think I'm going to leave the timestamps for this video up to someone else this time (especially after my mistake for the initial part 3 VOD, sorry about that one). Seriously, I'm so glad you finally got around to reacting to this OST; Mr. Sauceman, ClascyJitto, and POST ELVIS really outdid themselves with the music for this game, and hopefully you'll get the chance to talk to them directly someday, particularly CJ. Pizza Tower is easily my Game of the Year and one of my favorite games of all time by this point, and the quality of its music helps it stand out among its contemporaries. Hopefully more people get the chance to check it out. Personal favorites from the Pizza Tower OST include Tubular Trash Zone, Unexpectancy, It's Pizza Time, and Thousand March.
It’s Pizza Time’s clock sounds are actually sampled from Hurry Up!, a track from Wario Land 4 (2001, GBA), the game that serves as the inspiration for Pizza Tower. The “hello there” is a soundalike of a soundbite from Wario Land 4, though it comes from “Palm Tree Paradise”, one of the first levels in the game. Wario Land 4 has an incredible sound track, especially for what it could achieve on the Game Boy Advance. I’d like for you to check it out some time!
I think both Pizza Time and the third part of the final boss music are an homage to “Hurry Up!”, a song from one of the game’s biggest influences, Wario Land 4. Pizza Time goes for the same vibe, and that section of Unexpectancy straight up uses one of the same GBA style instruments.
Fun fact: There were plans to have special escape themes for every level. The only two remnants (That got used in later demos) are the escape theme for the unused Spooky Apartment level (Which would be used as the main theme for the Snick's Challenge level in the SAGE 2019 Demo) and the I assume John Gutter escape theme (It's Pizza Time!), which is used as the universal escape theme (Excluding WAR (Which doesn't have one), Tricky Treat (Doesn't have one), Secrets of The World (Doesn't have one), and The Crumbling Tower of Pizza (It has a special one, called Bye Bye, There!.) Pizzascape *did* have an escape theme made for it, but to my knowledge it was never used in any demos. EDIT: I didn't realize that Toxic Rave (Oh Shit!'s escape theme), and Running With Pockets Full of Meatballs (Peppibot Factory's escape theme) existed. I also didn't realize that Pizzascape's escape theme was called Small Fruit, 5 PM.
Also, Meatophobia was originally meant to play ONLY at the end of Bloodsauce Dungeon (The level that plays the song Dungeon Freakshow), it then later got used whenever the player got near Pillar John (Attacking Pillar John activates the Pizza Time segment that occurs in most levels). It also plays in the Bacon Room, and before Peppino's Final Judgement is revealed.

Pizza Tower🍕 is so amazing, I love watching talented musicians listen to its soundtrack for the first time, it sounds so greasy... and awesome. Like PIZZA. Its a video game that plays and sounds like a late 90s cartoon, I adore it!
I would love for you to see the Hi-Fi Rush ost, in a game all about music, of course the soundtrack is gonna be amazing! Bethesda uploaded the whole soundtrack on their channel, excluding the copyrighted songs, so there's no fear about that
A couple of fantastic game soundtracks I highly recommend are: SIGNALIS, if you’re up for almost 2 hours of slow-paced dread interspersed with moments of fight-or-flight terror; and VA-11 HALL-A, for the same length of chill cyberpunk bar music.
I suspect that the reason unexpectancy part 3 is so disconnected from parts 1 and 2 is (GAME SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!) it’s Pepinos boss music, not any of the others’. This is the moment he snaps and goes ham on everyone. The first 2 parts were Pizzaface and Pizzahead’s themes. Part 3 is Pepino’s.
It may be over a year later, but during listening to this I noticed the horns in the background of Bite the Crust playing the Super Mario Brothers 3 song that plays when you use a whistle. I heard it at 3:17:51
I do kind of hear a bit of the Warp Whistle theme there, though I'm not sure if that's a deliberate reference... Though fun fact if you didn't know already, that tune was originally from the first Legend of Zelda, whenever you used the Flute.
It would be cool to see a reaction to the left 4 dead 2 ost. The games music was made with the help of psychologists to help seep horror and intensity into every second of the game.
it'd be funny if you did a video on At Least There Is Ceda Cedovic soundtrack, because I feel for outsiders it'd be like listening to john cena theme midi that Vinesauce Joel did, as well as barely comprehending what is going on
DAN!!! I HAVE THE BEST REACTION SUGGESTION FOR YOU!!! You should listen to the Super Mario Galaxy sound track, it is one of the most legendary game soundtracks of all time, and one of the first ever game soundtracks to have a full orchestra recorded live for the game's OST. Not to mention, hardly anyone else has done a reaction to this OST, so you'd even be "Cornering the market" on Super Mario Galaxy OST reactions! Pretty pretty please, this is honestly my favorite game OST ever, and hardly anyone else has done a reaction to it! I wanna see what you think of it!
The song titles and music make me have NO idea whats going on in the game (ive never played). That's a good way to generate interest, just from your soundtrack, and the fact that the listener is currently super hungry for Italian to be delivered any hour now
Pizza Tower is now on Nintendo Switch, and a bonus tracks album is now available for all the music the added to the game after its launch (that weren’t already part of the official OST release). Here’s hoping you’ll react to that eventually! 🍕
i hate the fact that Leaning Nightmare is left alone in the Spotify OST without SNICK IS COMING. SIC is first, THEN LN. For context, these 2 are ONLY present in the SAGE 2019 Demo for Pizza Tower. The whole story of the demo is Peppino wanted to go to SAGE (Sonic Amateur Game Expo) but accidentally went to SAGE (Snick Amateur Game Expo.) Peppino decided to try some of the games (early levels) that was left there. Those being Pizzascape, Ancient Cheese, and Bloodsauce Dungeon. However if you get an S rank (there were no P ranks at the time) on all the levels, you would unlock Snick's Challenge featuring the totally not Sonic.exe clone Snick.jpeg! Where (looping back to the original topic) SIC and LN are featured. SIC is the "main" theme while LN plays when there's about a minute left on the clock. Sorry for the rant.
the hate i expected you to get on youtube comments are "you glossed over this song when it meant so much to me," or "you spent so much time on this insignificant piece" or "how the hell can you enjoy something so repetitive or something so chaotic that has no discernible rhythm?" hair? _TEETH_ ?! mister your teeth are fabulous, coming from someone whose mouth is rebelling, teeth are too wild to be straightened, too weak to be whitened, too sensitive for enamel strengthening, bro. hairline? vegeta would like a word with people who think that hairline is terrible.
Listening to pumpin got stuff fir the first time, I'm 100% certain theres jet set radio future DNA in it, for certain (great ost, if you havent covered it)
Hey Dan, I am definitely recommending the OST of Wario Land 4. Not a great selection of OSTs, but if you wan't your video to be a little longer you can check out the Sound Room OSTs (they are bizzare). Cheers Dan, thank you for these entertaining videos.
People say Wario Land 4's OST isn't that great, but I find it to be rather underrated as a whole. There's definitely a lot to appreciate about it, but I'm almost concerned by how speechless Dan will be by the Sound Room music, since a lot of it tests the limits of what can actually be called music, but again, that's part of why I love WL4's OST, and Wario Land 4 as a whole as a matter of fact. The whole thing was just the development team testing the limits of what they can do with the Game Boy Advance, it's all very, dare I say, avant-garde! You wouldn't expect that for a game starring Wario of all characters. ;)
hey there dan just passing here to say that I always love seeing your reactions to different OSTs and I have a suggestion myself, could you perhaps check out the soundtrack of Rainworld sometime? it has a DLC too with more music if you'd like to listen more, I have a feeling you'd like it a lot
Heya, I've been watching your content for a while now, I have a recommendation for your channel, it's this game called SCP: Unity, it has an amazing soundtrack, and although the game was cancelled ages ago, the soundtrack sounds amazing and was upkept by the original composer after the cancellation. It sounds absolutely amazing it's a sort of orchestral+synth somber style soundtrack.
It's kind of impossible to make a one-to-one recreation of the pizza tower ost with real instrument because the whole ost is made using sonudfonts in a music editor.
fun fact: "leaning dream" was usually called "sans dream" in the file name, and it was full of megalovania motifs

The opening riffs from hot spaghetti and cold spaghetti kinda sound like a trimmed down megalovania
the "Circus Music" Believe it or not was made for military originally
Yeah, we know. Austria-Hungary
now all I can imagine is an army of clowns
Thank you for your dedication. it was great seeing your reactions, This OST is a BANGER. Much props to Mr. Sauceman, Post Elvis and ClascyJitto. will look forward to their future work!

This OST is awesome. That said, post Elvis only did one song..
i VERY HIGHLY recommend listening/reacting to the Will You Snail OST - it's shorter at 25 songs but it's amazing, another indie game
I just love the noise’s jam packed something.
Gorgeous video and well articulated breakdowns of songs and aspects of songs! Hearing your input on the Noise Update's additions to the soundtrack would be awesome!
1:00:48 im-a in the zone, a vessel of death, like a train with no brakes that cant stop! all the skills ive honed, will cary my quest WAIT THERE'S TWO SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

Pizza Tower🍕 is so amazing, I love watching talented musicians listen to its soundtrack for the first time, it sounds so greasy... and awesome. Like PIZZA. Its a video game that plays and sounds like a late 90s cartoon, I adore it!
please do interview with Mr. Sauceman! this man made best tracks in this game !
I wish you'd react to the OSTs from the Splatoon series. Seriously good music.
I really think he'd get a kick of the unorthodox instruments and rhythm grouping
I agree
I love splatoon but gotta disagree with this one chief
@@mattgroening8872 elaborate
@@jonathontritto1990 it’s either suburban dad music with gibberish lyrics or Beatless garbage
I feel like reacting to bug fables ost would be great.it’s a nice small game with a great soundtrack if you haven’t heard it already
Time for a... You cant see me? Oh right, smackdown
I would love for you to see the Hi-Fi Rush ost, in a game all about music, of course the soundtrack is gonna be amazing! Bethesda uploaded the whole soundtrack on their channel, excluding the copyrighted songs, so there's no fear about that
I patiently waited for this, and I have been rewarded.
Now I sit back and wait for him to get around to Danganronpa some day.

God I wish you were my music teacher. ❤
38:40 bro felt it way to hard
Bro was cookin.
A couple of fantastic game soundtracks I highly recommend are: SIGNALIS, if you’re up for almost 2 hours of slow-paced dread interspersed with moments of fight-or-flight terror; and VA-11 HALL-A, for the same length of chill cyberpunk bar music.
Man face be like: 😬🤯🤪🥴🤓 every second
The games music was made with the help of psychologists to help seep horror and intensity into every second of the game.
it'd be funny if you did a video on At Least There Is Ceda Cedovic soundtrack, because I feel for outsiders it'd be like listening to john cena theme midi that Vinesauce Joel did, as well as barely comprehending what is going on
not sure, but it looks like nobody from that live chat realized that the clock tick sound effects were sampled from the warioland games
Huh, nice Marathon on the Soundtrack.
It’s quite an interesting one.
hey! I just want to say that meatophobia is literally just a pitched down jet set radio tag sound effect.
ohhhhh it's a vod comp
I love plunderphonics (music that uses samples from other sounds, think like collage) style of music.
you really should play pizza tower
Man, someone needs to get him to listen to the Ratchet & Clank OST, at least for the first game.
just wait until he hears about the noise update's OST
I love Dan's videos i like knowing that the music i like is objectively well made despite what everyone says about vg ost listeners
4:29:58 Someone should've mentioned this theme is a HEAVILY REMIXED VERSION OF LAP 2
Huh... Never noticed that before.
4 for that toy piano!
The song titles and music make me have NO idea whats going on in the game (ive never played). That's a good way to generate interest, just from your soundtrack, and the fact that the listener is currently super hungry for Italian to be delivered any hour now
Huh, there's a fourth part? Wonder what he's going to cover in this one, since he's covered the whole OST already.
VOD of parts 1-3❤
@@MusicTheoryforGamers Ah, that makes sense! Better than my playlist with all three parts.
That is the idea!@@zedneon

Fun fact: many Québécois folklore songs are built upon the "call and response" basis.
4:58:30 SUDDENLY GHOSTYMPA ?!?!?!?!?!?
why is this like one of the longest videos that doesn't have repeating content
Pizza Tower is now on Nintendo Switch, and a bonus tracks album is now available for all the music the added to the game after its launch (that weren’t already part of the official OST release). Here’s hoping you’ll react to that eventually! 🍕
The way he makes the stanky face at the good bits
i hate the fact that Leaning Nightmare is left alone in the Spotify OST without SNICK IS COMING.
I need me some SPLATOON
I hope you get a chance to check out the OST for Baldur's Gate 3. It's really a stand out for games this year.
Italian funk.
You should check out yoshi’s Wolly world soundtrack it’s also amazing and would love to see you react to it it’s got tons of great guitar
Why's man look so in pain? Art thou not bopping? Is the bop within you? Through you? I sure hopes so.
the hate i expected you to get on youtube comments are "you glossed over this song when it meant so much to me," or "you spent so much time on this insignificant piece" or "how the hell can you enjoy something so repetitive or something so chaotic that has no discernible rhythm?"
hair? _TEETH_ ?! mister your teeth are fabulous, coming from someone whose mouth is rebelling, teeth are too wild to be straightened, too weak to be whitened, too sensitive for enamel strengthening, bro.
hairline? vegeta would like a word with people who think that hairline is terrible.
You wouldn't expect that for a game starring Wario of all characters. ;)

funiculi funicula* is the pizza time song name, very late and you probably know by now, but a refresher doesn’t hurt
Someone should mod your added riffs into the game, methinks.

3:49:05 - Don't spoil yourself, friendo!
hey there dan just passing here to say that I always love seeing your reactions to different OSTs and I have a suggestion myself, could you perhaps check out the soundtrack of Rainworld sometime? it has a DLC too with more music if you'd like to listen more, I have a feeling you'd like it a lot
Wonder if you'll cover the handful of tracks the Halloween Update added--my favorite's the new pause theme for the season.
4:18:33 i might even go as far as to say its microtonal
Where Noise update ost?
BRING THE NOISE!
Big loss that he didn't hear the end of Okay Campers
Are you gonna do the Persona 5 Royal music sometime? Btw love the pizza tower stuff
It's kind of impossible to make a one-to-one recreation of the pizza tower ost with real instrument because the whole ost is made using sonudfonts in a music editor.
How does bro look like a musician teacher with that haircut 💀
