Hi, All; from my experience with Wegovy, please take the doctor's advice and start from the lowest dose. Especially if you suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, I took 1ml today. The first few hours, I was ok, then I suddenly started vomiting even though I only ate Breadsticks and drank water every hour. Also, this has worsened my anxiety. I regret that I didn't follow the instructions.
Please never take the drugs without your doctor's supervision!

Would you go from 0.50 to 0.75 or to 1 mg. I tried previously but was sick, so went back to 0.50.. However the weight loss has plateaued..thank you.

Hi, I recently asked my boots doctor how many clicks I would need to get a 0.25 mg dose from my 0.5mg pen as I took a week off due to sickness.
They replied back to say that the product is not designed to be used this way and they cannot confirm how much wegovy is in one click, which can lead to inaccurate dosing.
Are they just saying this as they’re realising there’s a loop hole into getting the product cheaper monthly this way? Or is that correct? No where online states anyone has had issues from click counting and I haven’t either as that’s what I’ve been doing. I was just interested to see their response. What do you think? 😊

If you can afford and have the correct pen and have endocrinologist supervision, you can use the normal pens.
Even the click count should be under the supervision of your endocrinologist, not the boots' doctors, as they are not speciality trained
The click count techniques were initially advocated and informally taught to me by Novonordisk medical representatives during COVID times. They worked quite well during shortages of Ozempic and helped a lot of patients in lock down. Hence techniques are fine to use as long as you have careful supervision of your endocrinologist.

Hey guys, just a quick update. I took my first 1ml dose of Wegovy without consulting with my doctor last Sunday. I have vomited nonstop for four days, and I have a headache, abdominal pain, cramps, an aching body, and 0 energy. Please make sure that you do this injection under your doctor's supervision; otherwise, you will end up at the A&E. Now, I am beyond petrified to take the 25ml dose on Sunday and have second doubts about whether I should use it or not after experiencing a week of hell. Please take a lesson from my experience.!
Same happened to me, now iam at 0.5 for the first day I feel a bit sick but that's all, after that I am fine!
I tried this on the 0.25mg pen. It was 36 clicks to the full dose. I've been concerned about side effects so only took 0.12mg. Feel fine so far so taking the rest midweek but think it'll order a bigger pen for my next dose and do this as its very pricey
You can take 0.12mg as half dose every 3 days to ensure your tolerance is OK
Where to get the extra needles? I just got the 0.25 mg and am also concerned about the effects. I would like to lower it.

to inject 0.8 from 2.4 mg I have counted 24 clicks, can you confirm?
And another one, what about the expiry date? It says 6 weeks once the pen is opened. Since I use 0.8 from 2.4 , I can use the pen for 12 weeks. ((0.8*3 ) * 4 dosages = 12 injections

If cold chain maintained you might use longer till 8 weeks, but efficacy may be lost... that's why endocrinologist supervision must

Yes the efficiency drops after 6 weeks.
The expiry date on box should never be ignored which is when even the closed pen has to be discarded
The 6 weeks opening window is for efficacy which is maximum in this period. Proper storage and cold chain maintenence is also important plus ensuring that the fluid is clear colourless.
If you are escalating dose every 4 weeks, you might finish it in 8 weeks which is usually perfectly fine.
Ensure you have supervision of your endocrine consultant

You may take 36 clicks to receive 1.2 mg dose. Could you please confirm how may total clicks you have when you dial till the end of 2.4 mg ?

Yes it's in UAE, it's sold under prescription here. I'm not sure about exact prices these days as i don't deal with them. These are just educational patient videos. You might check with pharmacies.

Yes, every time you inject 0.25mg, you dial till the pink line without counting...

I'd suggest starting dose as 0.25mg not 1mg because you never know the response.
I have had patients ending up in emergency department with vomiting after first dose and others not feeling anything till the final dose...
We can't generalise these observations to all.
Please eat slowly and have small portions of food with plenty fluid, fiber and must importantly, ensure you have supervision of your endocrinologist
Start properly low dose and then escalate as per clinical response

Hi, thank you ever so much for your prompt response. Unfortunately, I just saw your answer. I used my first dose of 1ml about 3 hours ago. Hopefully, there will be no side effects. My current BMI is 34.4, and I am 5ft5. In case of any side effects, such as nausea, I have taken herbal ginger capsules. I felt no pain while injecting the pen, but an hour later, it started stinging a bit. If I did have a side effect, how long does it take to start showing? Thank you so much for your kind information in advance.
@optimisticnoname4507 it can take 3 days. Hopefully you will be OK but ensure you seek endocrinologist supervision. Take ondansetron for nausea, eat slowly and only small portions, more fluids and fiber intake.

Thank you. I just started feeling a little burning sensation inside my palms and also a slight pain behind my neck. Is it normal? As for eating, I have never been a big eater. I gained my weight by using antidepressants in the past, taking contraception pills and a lack of exercise. I will stick to my breadsticks tonight and might have a bit of Israeli couscous if it's necessary. I hope I will be ok 😬
