      I guess there wouldn't be much space on the bottom due to the battery but something I've always wanted to try is painting on top with some clear grip tape so you can see the artwork. @Casey Geter

    Hi great job 👏🏻 quick question you taped off the edges do you leave this on until after clear coat or do add the sides to the clear coat finish.

    How long did you wait between coats? And any advice for someone who wants to spray on a galaxy on their board like on other spray paint artists do?

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  2 роки тому +1

      Spray paint dries really fast which is why its my favorite to work with. I only wait a couple of minutes between coats for the artwork but I do give the artwork a few hours to dry properly before clear coating. And also at least 1 hour between clear coats to make sure each layer dies so you get a really nice smooth clear coat.
      I've never tried spray painting a galaxy with spray cans but its a great idea and would look really cool on your board!

      Thanks, I get my clear coat from the local hardware store-bunnings. It's just an acrylic based clear made by deluxe.

    Hi mate did you just free hand the lettering or use a stencil? Also do you recommend any where to get grafiti name stencils from as I'd love to have a go at this my self but rubbish at drawing lol

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  2 роки тому

      Hey Mate, when I first started doing this I would use a stencil with a design I put together in photoshop. I would print it out on A4 office paper, cut it out with scissors and trace around it . Now that I've sold a heap of them I've gotten used to free handing them as its much faster and brings the hourly rate up a bit.

      Haha, they are going well and still healthy. That was the first and last time I sprayed in that direction. The missus kicked my ass for that one.

      @@WickedPaint lol I've had a similar experience, except I nearly ruined a friend's car with over spray.
      I gained the knowledge of wet sanding and buffing from it though, so it wasn't all bad.🤣
      Wicked paint job btw, looks awesome!

    Nice job mate. I'm about to do a deck for my daughter. What sort if spray paint would you suggest.

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks mate! Thats a great idea, I did one for my son and he loved it. I tend to use spray paints intended for graffiti-Montana, Loop or Ironlak as they have a good colour range and the valves are soft so they allow more control. I tend to stick to Acrylic though so all my paints and clear coat are compatible.
      Most of the decks I paint get hung on walls so I can't really say how long they would last in a skate park though...
