Second time I've watched. I love all of your smiles. You can't fake happy. I love it. I think that is why the horses do so well. They are relaxed cause you all are. Thank you AGAIN !!
G’day Danielle Henson Jerry Team & Co ;-) Absolutely beautiful foals, horses & Lokie. Congratulations Josh really nice choice, he’s going to be an exceptional all rounder. Jerry’s words of wisdom, are worth their weight in gold! Congratulations to the Aussie buyer of the exceptionally well bred super pretty filly foal, would love to see her journey.. Busy busy training day on the ranch, thanks so much for sharing with us all. With many source blessings with truth clarity love light laughter happiness joy fun play creativity adventures abundance wisdom and may peace be with you all! Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 Muddy Boots 👢 xoxo
That little roan filly is just beautiful. The LAST foal born this year. If I were to be able to have another horse in my life, I would have her. 'LITTLE BALL OF MUSCLE!' JUST GORGEOUS!!
Yeah i can see kingP234 in him. I had a king Santa Bay mare back innthe mid 70's king santa bay was a half brother to Poco Bueno. I was just a kid of course.
The beauty of a ranch raised and handled young horse is the respect they give to their trainer. They also learn about uneven ground and become sure footed.. and the exercise they get is wonderful. I was always around stalled horses.....young and old! If I had it to "do over" I would be looking for a ranch raised foal or a ranch broke 2 or 3 yr old. I also have a liking for you bloodlines!
Colt that's never been around a trailer or handled....steps right in... awesome mind. "Maybe I shouldn't sell that one"... when you're reticent and it hurts to sell almost every horse... You KNOW that you are Right. Where. The. Boss. Meant. You. To. Be!
My dad always called me a wild Indian squaw just like my grandma. We both loved horses and had a great way of connecting with animals especially horses.
Enjoyed this :) I am sure the new owners of the babies will appreciate the work your ranch does with them at this very beginning stage of being handled. The kickin?? That must be pretty common because Henson was ready for that part of it. I can see even with a young colt/filly you have to be cautious. Those kicks if landed would surely hurt. I remember your late ranch dog Lincoln ( such a good dog) took a nasty kick in the head awhile back . :( Thx for sharing !
Such beautiful and sweet-natured foals 🥰😘 Congrats to the lovely little lady 💄 who is going to Australia 🌏! She is so sweet! The handling and desensitization is so important 👍 Loki 🐕🦺 is hilarious - ' Mom, what are you doing? '
That colt looked fabulous. I flew racehorses to Australia, from the UK, to run in the Melbourne Cup. It’s so, so well Organised both on the ground and in the air and although it was a 30 hr trip, door to door, the horses took it well. I fact they only lost around 8-10 kilos on the whole trip. We flew cargo which ment we could regulate the heat and humidity in the mid hold, where they were. We had a professional flying groom and a vet in board for 8 horses plus a groom for each individual horse. Our horses had to be in quarantine for a month before the flight, in the UK, then for 2 weeks once we got to Australia. They are very, very strict on their bio security, understandably and paperwork on both ends had to be 100% correct. The hardest part was for the people flying, jet lag and lack of sleep was a killer 😂
I just love all of your horses (babies mostly!) and your family! I appreciate all that you do to handle your foals so gently. What a great breeding program you have Jerry! That colt you sold was gorgeous. Thx Danielle!💙
That was my favorite baby that just left. I noticed him about two months of video back. He was the little bay rocket baby. Smaller than most back when I noticed him then, but big❤️
So enjpy all your videos nice to see the foals beibg worked, you riding and loki being a good pup. And yes there is always work to be done on a ranch. 😀
OMG you're exporting colts to Australia now, can't imagine how much it costs to send a colt to the boonies down under. Amazing how desireable jHearts are now, international quarter horses. Henson didn't look that comfortable riding indian style?
I agree that farmers and ranches have dangerous occupations. Besides the long hours, most of the time you are working alone. I have lost family and close friends to farm accidents. Prayers for all farmers and ranchers.
You will have 100k subs before you know it Danielle! The real life of ranchers is a beautiful thing. If I was younger I would love to have one of your horses. I bet you get a lot more sales as well. Your animals are amazing.
That Loki has a great personality ! Loves to please and learn w/alot of silly thrown in ! Nice to see you riding Dibs ! How is Ghost? I really like your horse Ghost's look.Your foals are so healthy and strong from living and running on the land !
I'm surprised how calm the foal was when train blew it's whistle. Jerry I have a few head of cattle. As you know we need to not put ourself in that position to receive à hoff !
Wife...... Hey Jerry made a comment about losing someone this past year..... Who are y'all talking about? I think it was the Sire to the Colt that Josh bought. Not sure, I'm a tad confused 🤔 so who did you lose?? That Colt is super nice. Blessings to all at the PDR 🙌 Jennifer
@@PaintedDesertRanch Oh no, I'm sorry 😔. I didn't know Mr. Arizona passed. Was he born at the PDR? He was really nice. Bout how many colts do you think he sired? Simply curious...... Anyway again, sorry to hear. Blessings to all at the PDR 🙌 Jennifer
We haven’t made an announcement about his passing. He was not raised here. Jerry got him from the KeSa program he didn’t sire very many, maybe a handful.
@@PaintedDesertRanch Sorry I opened my mouth 🤐, I certainly didn't mean to draw attention to it. Please forgive my intrusive nature. Blessings to all at the PDR 🙌 Jennifer
For Loki only give him the comand once. If you keep saying the command over and over and he still gets rewarded at the end he will think it's okay to listen After you have given multiple commands. You can say his name.. or ehh ehh or give him a hand signal to that command. To sit I close my fist. To down (no lay down as it's too much, just down) I point to the ground. Feel welcome to message me.
What are the costs like to aus? would be interesting to hear. I’m from aus and my mother/her partner are looking at horses for their farm. They’re absolutely smitten with your channel despite being country folk and not knowing alot about youtube. I’m also very interested in some of the trigger babies, he is definitely my favourite man!
Yup I knew someone that was in a stall and got kicked by a weanling and it took his life. Things happen so fast I almost got kicked in the head by a weanling. I mean it felt like he parted my hair..
What are the brand of Spurs Jerry and Henson use, or are they custom made? Does Jerry ride horses still, I haven't seen him ride a horse on your channel or his? I first heard of your ranch a few years ago when you guys were in Western Horseman.
Colt exellent.but my heart with previous black seen 1-1.5 month before. This will be more massive.another was tremendous elegant.seemed as arabic .Anyway both super.
I think Loki is still a pup - but needs a little more training. I'm sure his running back and forth and periodic barking needs to be controlled. I don't profess to be a dog 🐕 trainer, but it's relatively easy to teach dogs certain basic commands, like sit, stay, down, shake a paw, etc. Lovely looking German Shepherd !! Thanks for sharing today's episode. Always interesting to see you, Henson and your favourite father-in-law, Jerry !! Have a productive and safe week !!
Sorry for being ignorant. Loki is a nice boy but can I ask what happened to Lincoln? Sorry for not keeping up like I should. You guys sure run a good operation. 🙏
How long do you like to work your horses; as in these 2 horses had to get worked how long did you aim at working each one. In a perfect world how often would like to be able to work the horses (example answer: 2-3 times per week/month for an hour).

The rope on their leg also helps in case they get caught up in wire or vines.

5-6 rides a week. About an hour depending on where they are in training. Ranch days are long. Sometimes arena work can only take 30 minutes.
@@PaintedDesertRanch thank you for responding
Why are 2 year olds started so young as opposed to waiting until they're 4 which gives them time to physically mature for riding/training?
Same reason we give younger human children responsibilities and jobs as opposed to waiting until their teen/young adult years.
