      Thanks! 🙂
We also really enjoy space history and seeing both Houston and now Huntsville's space museums has been REALLY cool! Maybe we'll have to go watch a rocket launch from Florida this winter!

Yes! Alabama surprised us. We knew there was a lot to see, but pretty much everything exceeded expectations.

Thank you! Glad to hear it was helpful! Big Spring International Park would make for a nice picnic spot. That's where we were in the beginning where the kids were feeding the fish. Your grandkids would probably enjoy that. There aren't any picnic tables there that we remember but they did have a lot of benches and grassy areas. Our other thought, just outside Huntsville is J.D. & Annie S. Hays Nature Preserve. The playground there is FANTASTIC and it has covered picnic tables.

I grew up in Huntsville. Twenty years ago, people would laugh at you if you told them you were from Alabama. Now, Huntsville is frequently touted as one of the best places in America to live. To a local, it's all kind of amusing. Huntsville wasn't THAT bad then. And it's not THAT great now.
