I like when you drive before and after an upgrade. I would like to see that in future videos. It lets me know if the parts are worth the time and money, you have been a big help. Thanks!
Very informative. I learned a lot. Wish I had the tools (and a garage with electricity) to try a bit of wrenching on my own, but I'm picking up a lot from channels like these.
Get a bigger one, said the guy thats walking. lol Got 15,000 miles on my 2014 Candy Orange Met. & running great, but nice to know when the times comes. Thanks & ride safe.
...however..I think that folks that get one of these should completely get this higher bore kit like you've done plus upgrading the exhaust system and breather system Plus create custom paint & airbrush shops for these Scoots because many young Cats that purchase these want their scoots to have their personalities stand out from the crowd. You know something like All Gloss Jet Black with really cool airbrushed flames finish or simply Paint it Pearl Essence White would really accent any Chrome works, as well.
How much did it cost Tim to have you do this mod? I need someone to do this in "Boston". With my 2015 Honda Metro here in MA I need a motorcycle license and plates even though it is a 49cc. By chance I just got my motorcycle license.
Hi Matt really enjoyed this video and the previous one as well over here in England I have what we call an AJS Modena 125 with an injection engine rather than the 150cc carb version version you guys run if I fit just a 150cc kit would I need one of your moded units to control the fuel input as you did on this kit you have here ?
Great video! Nothing like a few more cc's on a small engine to up the power. I kind of inherited a 50cc Chinese scooter with the intention of putting a 150cc GY6 in it but it had less than 500 miles showing on the odometer and I wound up doing a big bore kit. This made a huge difference but 35-40 mph is about all I want to go on it, poor suspension and I'm gonna be 70 this year. We have our limits. It's fun to ride, keeps up with local traffic easily and a great hobby for retired folks. Here in Oklahoma, if it has two wheels and a motor it's considered the same as a motor cycle, if you drive on the street it's - M on ur license, tag/title required and insurance. The tag costs the same as a Harley or any thing with 2 wheels as they go by year not manufacture's suggested retail price. Thus not many scooters in Oklahoma.
Roscoe Someone Just fyi, the "GY6" 50 and GY6 150 are two completely different engines. Engine swaps are impossible between the two, and they don't share any compatible parts whatsoever. How do I know? I own a TaoTao 50.
Excelente i live in México city and i hace an itálica 125 is made in México city ...and has the exactly same body and parts is awsome! Saludos desde México!
I wish you were out here that I can hire you to do this change for me. Here in MA .. they made me get a motorcycle license for my 2015 Metro even though it is a 49cc engine; top speed only about 33 mph.
I put a 100cc bbk on a 50cc gy6, now it's making a knocking noise. I thought it may be the bottom end so I bought a brand new 50cc gy6 motor and put the bbk on it. still making the same knocking noise. I got a replacement bbk with new head and everything and still the same knocking. any suggestions of WTH it may be I would really appreciate it. thanks
Please help. I just bought a 2020 Honda metro. I can't seem to find any performance upgrades of any sort. Ide prefer not to big bore but if it's the only option I would consider. Thanks
..anyway, I really like the look of this as it's great for my lady to ride to the store or go getting Italian or Mexican food..thank GOD we have many great Mexican folks that cook and prepare so much great foods and also Mexican food over all is usually great Nutrition too!😀
i am working on a af61 today scooter i replace my exhaus, I lift my carb needle and change my roller to a 6gram my today run much better then its factory, for my top seed i havent got to it yet do to traffic not enough road to do so but the problem is my launch is a little struggle and when i reach up to 31 - 35 it start to do a slight choke what is causing it to choke at high speed?? and what can i do to make it respond quicker
*SOLD MY BROKEN SCOOTER YESTERDAY MAN! Also going to un-subscribed from your channel as miss my scooter and seeing scooter related pages pop up on UA-cam. Thanks for help and advice for many years and wish you and wife and shop best of luck! Shaun.*
Great video! I own a 2013 Honda Met. Im definitely going to buy your Big Bore Kit and Variator. What type of intake and exhaust would you recommend for an additional upgrade? Would these extra additions require some additional tuning?
Lol, I had a 2k sqft shop with 4 lifts and would constantly find me out in the parking lot working on the ground.... lol I don’t do lifts. To much hassle:-)
Unfortunately that’s a completely different engine. This is the only bore kit available for that: www.rollingwrenchdenver.com/products/58cc-honda-ruckus-metro-big-bore-piston-kit
Stock valves, stock intake, and stock exhaust. You can do more. The big valve head is discontinued. The point of doing all this is to increase the acceleration and top speed.
Sam Snow I can get the head tapped if you send it to me. The install is very simple. I have a how to video on a qmb139 engine. This motor has a very very similar procedure.
Just get one that’s older than 15 years old and it doesn’t matter then you don’t have to qualify for emissions. I have a torque loopz on my Goldwing and I don’t have to qualify for any omissions, cause my bikes older than 15 years
Horrible description of how the Turner works. It's leaner and richer. Maybe make a video of how to adjust it properly so new tuners don't get confused and can get the most out of the kit. Also I believe red lock tight on that plug would have been enough, no point of smoothing it out if no gasket is sealing it.
Is it just me, or Boring it out with any big bore kit technically doesn't make it 50cc or limited use motorcycle anymore? Doesn't it become a regular Class A Motorcycle that requires a license after mods increasing the CC's to surpass 50cc?
That was my mistake I bought a 150cc gy6 scooter online and about 3 days in, while waiting on it to arrive, I researched how to get it registered.. My heart sank when I learned I needed a M license lol but I went n got it.
In MA my Honda Metro (50cc) required a M license and the scooter gets a LU plate which means "Limited Use" (don't go anywhere that minimum speed is higher than 32 MPH. Suc'd... but I did get a license before buying the scooter.
I don’t get why people do this! You could easily buy another scooter that would go way way faster for what it cost to do all the mods it takes to get 55mph out of one of these. I own a met, CBR300R, and GSX-S1000 and it’s built but you actually get some real gains with mods to it where the metro your gonna spend a grand and get .5 hp! 😮 now if I was rebuilding it sure why not spend the few extra bucks but to tear a new Honda apart and rebuild it for me is not realistic! And honestly your only gonna get where your going 5 minutes faster that’s it. May not even get there quicker depending on traffic!
I can explain why people upgrade. A 50cc scooter in most states doesn’t require a motorcycle license, state registration and insurance is super cheap. Not to mention you can part these on sidewalks in busy city’s. This saves a ton of money. So by keeping the 50cc and upgrading the power you get the best of both worlds. I sell a lot of these kits. The mod increases the power in a major way. You learn something new everyday 😜
then you get arrested when they see you doing fifty .20 mph over speeding ticket and failing to register your over 50 cc scooter and if the judge rules its no longer road safe you get the fine and they keep your scooter
I don't think most traffic cops are gonna be able to look at a scooter going by at 45 and right away be like "is that above or below 49cc engine" I think if they know anything about bikes or scooters they assume it's a 150-250cc unless it has the "hot rodded" look on it. Idk happy scooting.
that's alot of money 699. the speed limit is 35 most places in the city! plus the power depend on the weight of the person! i had two 50cc Honda scooter back in the 1980"s they were way faster then today models which our a joke. these 50cc scooter retail new over 3000.00 dollars!
@@RollingWrench yeah man if you could gps and possibly video it, or future projects, that'd be really good man. your wifes ped sounds most impressive, im thinking about getting a ped at some point, would you send a 95cc bbk to england ?
K. I'm on the brink of buying a '16 Metro with 400 miles.
I NEED THIS KIT, PLEASE!
This is amazing! Same in MInnesota, 49cc is scooter. But 50cc+ requires motorcycle license.
snapperhead your papers don't change just the kit
Or register it in Wisconsin in La Crosse
Plus, putting a bigger engine and doesn’t matter when it’s carbureted all carbureted vehicles don’t have to follow that shit anymore

You built a sleeper. Nice 1

I have a Japanese scooter honda today 50cc 4stroke can i install a big bore kit or just go with a racing clutch and variator ?
Would this conversion work on an 07 metro
How much is the variator for a 2013 Honda Metro I'd like to get one

Not that I know of :-(
I need a 2016-2020 big bore kit, bro.
how can I get more power? I think I will just sell it and get a super cub.
So why did they stop making the 95cc Kit? And the big valve head for the Metro?
I don’t know... sucks though
What kinda break in time are you looking at with that kit,if any?. I think that was what your implying by new motor
About 100 miles. Don’t redline it, and vary the throttle.
Sounds good. That's for the quick response. Thanks for your other videos as well. Just used your prior vids for the gy6 171cc Upgrade
That is a DIY tuning solutions tuner they make them for anything from a BMW to Polaris looks like a piggy back set up what so custom about it ?
It is not a part you can order, it has to be programmed with our specs and our wiring terminals. That’s why it is custom.
Will this fit an 08 metropolitan
Are there any performance mods like this for a 2018 Metropolitan?
Not that I know of. There is a stamp on the left side of your motor starting with “AF” what is the number following that? . I can look intonit

In state of Florda you dont even need a drivers license to drive these.

Yes, if it is larger than a 49cc other rules apply. But if it’s registered as a 50, you may get away with it??? That’s for the owner to decide.
