  • In this video I install a Polini Variator and run side by side tests to see if it really is worth it. I also go over a custom air intake.

It makes a bigger difference than any other bolt on, hands down.

Can you do a video showing/describing what you did for the external air intake?

The speed comparison is only good if one the same piece of road. Hazy info. I know not of speed diff.results

And FYI, lighter weights are beneficial to heavier riders and heavier weights are better for lighter riders. With that said, 5.6’s are fine for a light rider like you. A heavier rider, say over 200 lb’s would do better with 5’s or 5 1/4’s.

Ty bro that info is very helpful.

Lighter weights are just better no matter your weight until a certain point. The lightest weights BARELY lose top end, maybe 1-2mph and they just increase how long you are in the lower gears, thus having WAY better acceleration and hill climbing. Anywhere from 4.5-5g is where you want to be. I went from stock rollers to 5g sliders and it was drastic how much faster I could get up to 30mph and maintain 30 on hills. Sometimes maintain 35-40 if the hill is only a very slight incline. I am a very light adult though.

@@DyLemmaOG the problem with too light of a roller weight on a ruckus or metro is the rev limiter will be hit to soon, even way to soon. I’ve learned a thing or two since writing my original comment. While rider weight is a factor, it mostly is a factor while driving up hill. I was running 5.5 sliders for a little while and switched to 5.0 sliders. With the limiter removed 5.0 seems to be the sweet spot. If you have a limiter 5.5 is a safer bet, particularly on pre 2006 models.

What. Di A. Are the pulleys? A longer belt ?

did you already remove the restrictor off the variator? I believe that in stock form they're restricted to 30mph.

On my metros I have never had a restricted on them. On the Metropolitan “2”s they are restricted to around 30.

You need to change your back pressure. Jets and air only work if your pipe has more flow.

Oh interesting. I thought they’d be faster because of the fuel injection.

@@WillMacD I wish but it does make starts easier and the motor can be stroked out unlike the older models that don’t have the jug. But it’s like anything the more you spend faster u go

*What is this?* *"How-to make an absurd 'filter-intake' replacing Honda's engineered designed for maximum filtration & air-flow by actual real 'Engineers' who know what in hell they are doing!*
    ___________
*'Less resistance to air-induction is MEANINGLESS unless countered by a complete exhaust change, re-setting of valves for intake and exhaust...NONE of which will change the fact that the 'bore & stroke' of the piston have not changed at all and 'more air' cannot be 'forced in' without a supercharger!*
( *Unless you must have the 'World's Fastest 50cc Metropolitan' I can't guess why someone would want a nearly $2,000 supercharger installed!* )
