Brandon you’re out here filling the void that is Black Canadian media. You saw the vision, keep it up you’re gonna blow for sure. One thing maybe to keep in mind for the long term: not sure what your plans are but it would be cool if you explored/travelled other parts of the country to hear from Black voices that aren’t Toronto based (e.g. Nova Scotia has a pretty rich Black history). I get that the majority of Black Canadians reside in Toronto/GTA, but mixing in others here n there could add another element. Best of luck 🤞🏾
Love it!!! Great conversation with great people. I’m gonna always praise Kerin for helping my business as well as many other small black owned businesses 💜
I feel older Canadian black generations got too comfortable trying to fit in with everyone else which led to a lot of the issues we're facing today. We were too passive. Black excellence wasn't stressed enough and almost feared. Where are our black neighbourhoods/enclaves? G 98.7 isn't black-owned in 2021?? All these black folk all throughout the GTA yet no identity we often revert back to Caribbean/African roots. Sure we've made strides and continue to do so but the Indians and Chinese are ahead of the game and we're feeling the heat.
Too many blacks look at hype instead of looking at setting up opportunities for their families long term....perfect example is most communities ensure their families have something like a business to leave etc...again young and old have an issue...when many of us get beyond the hype and ensure we are good individually in terms of values, growth, integrity etc than we can pass on to the next generation....plus even the first person on the panel saying she's from a hood is based on hype...there are no hoods in Canada as there are opportunities and poverty stricken people rarely can say they had a roof over their head etc...
Canadian society is disrupted. We now are experiencing forward transition which is for the better. I just hope the majority embrace it. Women are our future and we need them to lead in every genre: culturally, socially, commercially, economically, and environmentally.
We are talking about Black people as a whole not just women. Black men and women have historically dealt with adversity together. We need to come together and black men and women.
@@rollinthunder8671 yes. The women will need support from men. But patriarchy in general has made a mess. It is time for women to lead. In every culture and genre of society. They will right the wrongs.
Odd comment. I believe Canadians are our future. I guess groups can me made up as winners and losers, men vs women, blacks vs whites. It's this groups time it's that groups time. Let's just go with the best and no more defining people for what's between or not between their legs, what their skin colour is or isn't. It's like saying now is the time for red heads to lead the future. P.S. red heads are just people, like everyone else.
@@PAPIKen0728 no, you can't apply such a blanket statement to this situation. Again the fact that you are saying this tell me you have no knowledge of the history of the African diaspora in North America. Your looking at in through your culture lens. Dont apply your cultural ideas on others. Thats neo colonialism
Great conversation. I personally think it's really difficult for black people to make it but not impossible. It seems as if there are ceilings into what black women can do for example "nursing " psw" black man are in entertainment. Representation does matter so the youth can see other possibilities. There are other pressures such as not having the privilege to take risks and not having a strong foundation to build on. Most of us are starting from scratch and that's when the struggle begins.
Sadly I see many people leaving Canada because there is more infrastructure elsewhere. A lot of our most talented don’t get the support or there is some but not as much as elsewhere.
Odd that you see many people leaving Canada for more opportunity elsewhere. We've been in a lockdown with basically closed borders. Is this really happening all around you? I don't see it. To be honest I see talent trying to escape the tire fire to the south if us and Canada is a great option. Just my opinion. Have a great day
I honestly think its time to dip the housing market will never come down its 54 percent of the GDP. Unless you want to live in small town Canada and commute to work in the horrible traffic then ok. If you make 120k 60k is taxes. If you make 70k in the US. You will make more after taxes then someone making 120k here
I watched your video. The videos are beautiful. Video quality is very nice but like view subscribe is very low, another is more, if you have you can be a professional youtuber. Do you want to be a professional? We can talk about how this can happen//

We can make just enough money to leave and make it elsewhere, and that's facts✈✈✈💯%
