Really good idea there with raising it up. I just ordered a swivel jack to replace the entire jack so that it tucks away, but looking at your frame, I don't think this was an option because it's too short.
Super stable, even on a slope. I'm not sure why they install that lower bracket because it didn't do much to slow down the jack from getting yanked out in the first place.
@@ThriftyGarage I dropped my travel trailer on the tongue jack over the weekend. It fell and bounced about 12 inches. The top mount where the jack bolts is now bowed up. bottom gusset is bent out a little. Looks like I can bend it back.
Jacks are replaceable. I wouldn't want to weld one on if I had an option to bolt on. Plus with the 4-6" pipe spacers and the drop leg the issue of hitting low clearance items has decreased tremendously. A weld on jack would still hang down several inches and cause more damage in the event of contact with an obstacle.
I’m sorry I didn’t show exactly what you were looking for. The only thing not shown was the removal of the broken jack and smashing the mounting surface with a hammer. The fix is installing a new jack with a higher mounting point to prevent similar damage in the future. This repair is going on 3 years and is still working flawlessly.
Ive been looking for vids on this issue and this was perfect
Thanks, thought I was the only knucklehead who forgot to elevate the Jack full travel 😂
I experienced the same issue and your solution was brilliant! A lot easier than the direction I was going! Thank you for the video!
Glad to be of help! Thanks for watching!
This is exactly the solution i was looking for. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
That was exactly the video I needed to see, thank you sir.
Glad to hear it

Yep! Those swivel jacks are nice if you have the space.
Can you explain what did you buy so I can do the same, I would appreciate it!
What did you heat the coupler with to unbend it? Thanks for the video!
Plumbers torch with yellow tank. It’s mild steel so it doesn’t need much head. Oxyacetylene torch would do a better job but may be overkill.
Would of been helpful to see how the heat was applied, torch it i assume, yet needed and a good idea. thnx
What did you heat it up with??? Looks just like the hitch on my trailer
MAP gas torch
How's the stability? I see that bottom gusset is torn. When you grab the top of the jack does the trailer rock back and forth side to sie a lot?

Why didn't you just cut off the jack mount and weld in a New one

MAP gas
That happened to me today on my way to a job hit a man hole 🕳 and it bent just like that
It’s the worst!
Remove the plate or wheel and lift it all the way up
Wtf why is mine welded.
Sorry, I can't answer that for you. A grinder or torch should fix that for you.
Mines welded and it has mounting bolts 😂😂
Mine too. Did you get it fixed?
Dang that's alot of damage. I dont think flex tap can fix it
I'm watching a video to SEE how to fix and you completely skip that part🤦🏽♂️. Please show ppl next time
