Nature is a production of THIRTEEN for PBS. Throughout its history, Nature has brought the natural world to millions of viewers. The PBS series has been consistently among the most-watched primetime series on public television.
-----------------
Explore the landscape and wildlife of the Upper Okavango River, where the deep water shows elephants swimming and carving channels through the reeds and papyrus, setting small birds afloat to drift past hippos and crocodiles. A lioness severely injured by a buffalo is left for dead by her pride. Now disabled, she must survive in the swamp alone, hunting to feed her little cubs.

I had no idea they tucked their chicks under their wings and walk away with them! THAT'S SO ADORABLE!!!!
Those poor birds will have to wear size 13 Nikes. MEN’S size 13 Nikes.
Jacanas are really intriguing, they're an example of animals where the gender dynamics and dimorphism are the reverse of the usual - the females are large and territorial, the males are the main carers of offspring. They're also referred to as Jesus birds
This video has everything. gorgeous scenery, fluffy animals, single dad struggles, a villain, drama and built up suspence
That was soo cute how he just picked them up an walked away with them, and the Croc was like oh ok, you caught me huh,
- walks off with kids under each wing- and is like to the crocodile " dont talk to me or my sons ever again "
Imagine a bird being a better father then some humans
The mother bird as soon as they hatch: ight imma head out
The Jacana single father rate is 100%.
This thing plays out like a fairytale, the colors, the atmosphere...the DRAMA.
"two tiny fluff balls with long toes..."
“They’ll grow into their feet!”
crocodile: 👁👁
Dad: tucks the two chicks under him and now has 6 legs
"Listen I'm a single father and I'm just trying to get on my feet"
Crocodile: Floats towards bird
Mans picked up his kids like they were suitcases
"get in kids, we're moving"
It’s very interesting that this species rely on their fathers. Most bird species require their mothers OR both parents. I’ve never seen a species rely solely on the father.
“Those that survive here are the ones that are most aware of the sinister hiding in the beauty” - a universal law
