I find that a single-color sneaker like black or white elevates my look. When I go out walking, I'll pair my black sneakers with dark trousers or leggings, which elongates my legs. I love my pumps, but to take care of our feet, it's important to find a way to rock our sneakers! Thanks for another great video!
Oxford shoes are indispensable! Especially shiny black. I will choose them over pumps when wearing pants - more comfortable, still elegant, classy. And an excellent alternative for those who don't fancy loafers. Thank you for sharing your insight, Audrey!
I realized that comfort is absolutely key for me but I still want to not wear sneakers all the time. I think I’m going to try some loafers or maybe a low block heel for fall to look more sophisticated
Good morning Audrey. I have always loved, loved, loved shoes. As an older woman, comfort is of utmost importance to me. I recently purged my shoe collection and I have gravitated towards mostly loafers and sneakers, as well as ankle boots. My sandals also have to have the comfortable element about them. Luckily, shoe brands have developed both fashionable and comfortable styles. I loved all your choices.
Hello Audrey, I just discovered your videos and been binge watching them ever since lol. Everything you talked about makes so much sense and very informative. I am learning so much as a petite girl myself. Thanks for sharing and continue to put out videos like these because they helps.
Oh that top and trousers looks stunning! You've always had impeccable style but I do really LOVE your use of pattern, colour and intricate details these days. Thank you for your videos! You are elegant and eloquent.
Hi Audrey! Another amazing video. I have been loving your “must have” perspective and in both I cannot ignore your beautiful HANDBAGS!! Could you bring a handbag collection or must haves next?? Please?? 👜🙏🏽
I don’t understand everything you say (I’m french) but you’re so class. And the way you talk is so cute. For the persons who are not confortable with sneakers, simple canvas shoes are vert good in my opinion ! I’m not ready to wear sneakers
Thank you for these suggestions! I have also been avoiding buying sneakers because I associate them with juvenile or more casual styles than my own, but the way you style them makes them so much more appealing! I also need to find good walking shoes and sneakers would be kinder to my body. Thank you for this inspiration!
Loves: chunky loafers, ankle boots, clogs, mary janes with some type of heel (not stiletto), sandals I can walk in, riding boots. Dislikes: uncomfortable shoes, as I had plantar fasciitis. IMO shoes should be shaped like feet. This should seem obvious, until you go shopping for women's shoes.
I have to agree with you here. I do have one pair with a pointy tip that I can't seem to let go of because I love them. But other than that, I don't like to wear them a lot because they're uncomfortable. Also, I try to find a cushioned shoe base as sometimes a hard base starts hurting after a while walking.
I come from Vancouver which is classically wet and rainy, and I invested in the Chloe Betty boot for a more stylish rain boot option and I have absolutely no regrets! I feel stylish in the rain! I recently invested in nicer shoes and I agree, it totally elevates both dressy and casual outfits!
Because of my long narrow feet, it's taken some time (the past several years!) to a) find what is comfortable AND stylish, and to b) find styles that fit my foot well. I have decided (drum roll) that instead of loafers--which I often covet--I am going to focus on the amazing variety of OXFORD styles available out there. Having a shoe that stays secure as I walk is very important to me and shoes-that-tie fit that bill. Also, the oxford style can be dressier (heeled or platform), or more tailored. I've finally gotten my ankle biot game where I want it--now to fill in some blanks with a couple of more flexible options. Your channel has been my core inspiration as I've discovered my personal style more clearly--Thank you for your excellent content ❤️
@@jc-246 Here's to footwear journeys!! Haha. I've been so glad to find shoes that fit in the last year or so that I can actually USE in a more stylish wardrobe. The shoe industry is making narrow sizes more commonly these days and it's been pretty wonderful:-)
I have narrow feet, and it’s very difficult to find a comfortable loafer that doesn’t slip on my heel. Any suggestions? For example Tods don’t work at all in any size.
@@punk7066 I wish I could offer a recommendation for loafers but I have not found any that will stay on my feet :-(. I DO highly recommend Pikolinos for boots, sandals, and stylish oxford options though. They don't suit everyone's style but I have loved, and worn, several pairs to death :-) I wait until a style is on sale tho. I have also had some luck with Munro American shoes as well as Trotters brand (offered with a very narrow heel) and l can occasionally find both brands on sale at Nordstrom Rack. I find European (Spain, Portugal, Italy) cobbler lasts are narrow enough, well made, and can often be found at a lower price point than U.S. brands.
Hello Audrey. Thanks for sharing your experience. My favourites shoes are actually white sneakers because I can wear them with my daily outfits, even in the office. Ankle boots are lovely but I really feel tired when I use them. I also like flat sandals but it's difficult to wear them where I live because weather change all days, jejeje...
I just love watching and listening to your videos, I've become incredibly tired of social media but your style of content is so refreshing, lovely and calming. I find that too many youtubers just scream at and bombard the viewer all the time. I also really like your clothing style as it is elegant and sophisticated yet practical and casual which is the kind of vibe I am trying to bring more into my outfits at the moment. Seriously, thank you for producing the content you do.
You are such a gorgeous woman Audrey. My style is not as feminine and classic as yours but I have learned so much from watching your videos. I've recently reorganized my wardrobe and you helped me tremendously to find my true self within it. 🌿🌼
I have recently began to rebuild my style. Because I was going for a more polished look, I too neglected trainers. Then I sprained my ankle! That made me work around it and realize that I can still look polished with trainers.
My must haves are definitely loafers and a block heel. Have been on the fence about sneakers because I don't really have a 'sporty' style, but I'm keeping my mind open!
I was the same with sneakers, but then my son bought me some slip-on Converse and I have never looked back. So versatile especially on casual days! Now I have another pair..black sleek Nikes and I find that these two serve me well all year round.
Love this❤ I love ankle boots, they make me feels so chic😊 i like loafers too. I hacent find a pair of pumps that i like, because my foot slips always out, i like heels that hold my feet😁
I haven't pressed a UA-cam video as quick as I did right now! Love your style of shoes, very similar to mine! I, especially, do hate sneakers that look like I am going to a gym for a workout. Definitely agree to go for chunkier sneakers or slip-ons. I am just not that sporty and it doesn't fit my style.
This was really helpful! I have a pair of adidas sneakers (not runners) that I’ve had for years. They come through the wash looking brand new each time and are timeless in my opinion.
I so appreciate that one of the items you featured (the ankle boots from Sylven NY) is vegan leather! I'm always on the lookout for high-quality, attractive, vegan-leather items. Thank you.
I love shoes !!! I feel that they can make or break an outfit. Also, as a mature lady, I love using my shoes as a statement for my style. I usually get compliments on my choice of color, style, design and I will never choose “frumpy”! Lastly, I do choose comfort, and there are many comfortable, classic shoes with that touch of pizzaz! Loved this and ALL your videos, please keep them coming. 😊❣️
Thank you for sharing your comments about the casual tennis/ athletic shoe . I’ve been trying to incorporate those into my everyday outfits. My office is business casual and it sometimes leans that way when dressing down some outfits I already have. Always appreciate your content on your channel.👍🏼😉
I really like the way you are wearing your blouse Audrey - something I have never thought of doing - I’m going to try that - I think it’s unbuttoned sort of wrapped over and tucked in? Going to give it a go. Looks very stylish!
I need to find like 5 basic, dependable, groovy shoes that work for Mama’s that love fashion lol! I found sometimes classy doesn’t go so well with motherhood. So, still finding my groove!
I wear pumps almost every other day, I have them in a lot of styles. They are just super suitable for work. Also I love good comfy khussas (traditional shoes).
I love wearing boots and watching any of your video’s regarding boots. You have a beautiful collection of boots and shoes in general. I have 7 pair in total (leather and suede) with five pair being ankle boots with the shaft ranging from 5 to 8 inches. My favorite pair are my suede laces ups with a shaft of 6 inches. The other two pair are knee high with one of the pair I’ve had a good 12 years.
For fall I love love every type and shade of ankle boots. It’s been a new thing for me over the last couple years. I guess because I can style them with about anything 👍❤️
I just watched another video that suggested we should dress around our shoes and not the other way around. That makes so much sense. Your video has inspired me to be on the lookout and think more about my shoes.
Ooooo…thank you for your insight. I too have a very casual lifestyle and the pump or dress shoe is a slight challenge but watching this video helped me understand to go with my personal style which is short & chunky heels. (Kinda like my figure 😝) Audrey, what you do here is super helpful and I have learned a lot. I hope you understand how much you have helped me with my journey on recreating my small wardrobe. I love my loafers, Birkenstocks (black), and my white Coverse sneakers. I find all of these very versatile and whenever I repurchase I am going to upgrade the loafer (or basic black shoe) to a very nice version since I feel the ones I have are still in very good shape. ❤️ Happy Sunday beautiful ☀️
Very insightful as always Audrey! Through a lot of trial and error I've found my must-have shoes are white/cream ankle boots for the cooler months and white heeled sandals for warmer weather.
There have been two footwear styles that I enjoy having. The first is kind of whimsical especially for me as a woman in my 60's but I enjoy owning these, which are Maryjane's; one in a black shoe style that's designed very similar to a ballet flat with a strap crossing my arch and the other is a sneaker version which I own one in black suede, the other in a gray microfiber. I tend to wear these quite often, as they are casual and I rarely get dressed up anymore. I love them both💗 I own two styles of ahoe, which I find suits me either casual or semi-fomal, those are peek-a-boo toe's, i have a comfortable taupe and classic black. Also, I did have at one point and would love to get again, a classic knee high boot with a low heel. That style of boot is fantastic when you need to be dressy but it's cold or snowing.
I agree with the sneaker comment as a person who looks a lot younger than my age it can appear juvenile. For me a chunky shoe makes me look a lot skinnier so I need a sneaker that has a heel adidas makes some really aesthetically appealing ones.
I find that no matter how many shoes I own, there are about 2-4 pairs that I consistently wear. My lifestyle is very casual so Birkenstocks and my Nike slides are my go-to for summer. I like sneakers in the fall, winter, and spring and chelsea boots in the winter. I like knee high boots as a dressier option but currently don't have a pair. I'm also a big fan of mocassins (remember, casual)! Any kind of dress shoe with any heel is definitely in the special occasion category for me, typically if I want to dress something up on a more regular day a pretty flat will do.
The extreme 🥵🥶temperatures of where I live merits me having a good espadrille or sandal for the heat and for sub-zero days of winter, a good chukka or duck boot
Thank you for that essential list ! Loved hearing about the thinking process behind each choice you’ve made. My own journey has been similar, one exception being the loafers are replaced by ballerinas 😉 (but I did bring loafers back into the mix last year as practical ‘chunky’ shoes and love them).
Love the outfit in this video, especially the shirt styling & belt 👍 Thanks for explaining each style of shoe & what it can do for an individual. I've felt the same way about "sneakers" - perhaps too juvenile, but recently found some I don't mind. Thanks Audrey
Hello Audrey, My very favorite shoe is a Loafer from Church's, which is a high-end footwear company from North Hampton England. Founded in 1873 and eventually bought by Prada!. On another note, I wanted to tell you about an event called Flower Lounge Tour by Katie Hess at Lotuswei. It will be held in Charlston on September 8th. Perhaps you already know about it.
Still rebuilding shoe collection after feet expanded a full size but here goes: flat sandals that can be dressed up or down, ankle boots (both flat and heeled), cute flats (ferragamo vara pumps in particular), flat riding boots, nude pumps and black pumps, and for me running shoes
I love and have: ankle boots, biker boots (worn with skirts and blouses and a denim jacket!) and riding boots; smart sandals, casual sandals in black, white, navy and brown; chunky mary janes, trainers (UK term for sneakers) in white, navy and burgundy, black brogues; indoor shoes and sandals. I wish my feet were loafer shaped! Unfortunately I have a very wide forefoot and a very narrow heel, which is why many shoes don't fit me. What I don't have is smart going out shoes, as I struggle to find ones that are comfortable enough. All my shoes are vegan, so they last really well.
The video answers your question: her top 5 shoes that she states are comfortable, practical, and essential to her style are 1) ankle boots; 2) shoe with a 1-1.5” heel that can be dressed up or down (for her, it’s her cap-toe slings); 3) loafers; 4) classic pumps; and 5) chunky sneakers. She links to specific brands in the description box under the video.
@@kimhagen7039 Heels and pumps, and loafers that narrow toward the tip are not comfortable. I'm sure there might be comfortable versions to be sought, but I was asking for a list of specifically comfortable shoes.
Shoes overwhelm me and I have no idea how to figure out what goes with what. I have a friend who LOVES shoes, so I'm going to take a photo of the very few pants I own, the very few shoes I own, and she'll help me fill in gaps as well as what goes with the non-jeans. This is just so far outside my knowledge and I'm in my 40's! hah
These videos are so fun to watch but I will say this. Trying to find the perfect ankle boot for my structure is quite difficult. It’s either too high up the ankle or makes my legs look cut off. I only wear pointe toe close toe shoes because they elongate my legs for my short height. It’s just a matter of trying them on in person or trying to find a fashion influencer with my similar body type
I love the idea of this, but would you consider showing the shoes/item to the camera rather than only in farther away outfit shots? It can be hard to see the item well that you are describing and I find it really helpful to see them more up close. Shoes and accessories especially. Thanks for the video, love your vibe!
not sure where my comment went - for anyone wanting the Van Eli shoes in the knock-off Chanel colorway, they are sold out at that link, and most everywhere else online. Other colorways are available.
What kind of socks do you wear with loafers? I'm on my feet all day so sockless isn't an option that works for me. I'm avoiding buying loafers specifically because of socks!
Hi! I like no-show socks when it’s warm. My favorite ones are from Boody, but you can get the style pretty much anywhere! When it’s cold, I like a skin-tone trouser sock so that my ankles don’t freeze! Mine are from Amazon :)
I need a sneaker! That said I have two pairs, both canvas and lighter, and I would like something else for other seasons than summer. I have been looking for years. I'm now a size 12 1/2, which in a sneaker means 12s squish my toes and 13s feel like clown shoes! I keep trying, though!
Oh, that's a very interesting topic. I love shoes! And if my lifestyle allowed that, I would have many! I think people do not always understand, that shoes - along with matrasses - can make us either healthy and happy, or miserable. I am older. My feet change and require more care and comfort. As you grow old, the skin on your feet changes. It becomes dryer, thicker, and more prone to callus formation. And it becomes very important that your shoes take the best possible care of your feet and do not create problems. So I am in constant search for very high quality, very comfortable shoes of all types. It is not that easy, because I keep forgetting what I discover))). But I have memorizes the basics: shoes need to be leather on the outside and the inside, and the leather needs to be high quality and soft. And the sole needs to be thick and bouncy. And it is important to realize that the aging feet expand, and I need to buy shoes of bigger size than I used to and more spacious. And the most important thing to remember: they must cost a fortune. That's about shoes and boots. Snickers however are very forgiving, and sometimes a not very expensive pair can serve you very well. The type of shoes I discovered and learned to love is the open hills shoes. I used to despise them, thought they were not real shoes)). But now I know that they can create a huge difference in comfort! Depending on the сut, they can sit on the foot quite steadily and look very stylish. Now a pare of good old Birkenstocks are a must in my summer shoe collection.
I love shoes. I am currently building my shoe collection. I have to move away from higher heels and more toward kitten heels . I am not a fan of loafers. I have never found a pair that is Femme enough for me. I have 3 pairs of ankle boots now but need a new black pair
I tried loafers and they just didn't work for me. Neither do ballet slippers tbh. Got a nice pair of Vejas for nicer white leather sneakers but I still need to find a good pair of dress shoes that suit me.
Can we do a whole wardrobe tour? The outfits here are honestly amazing! And i cannot fathom building that entire thing without totally crumbling.

The extreme 🥵🥶temperatures of where I live merits me having a good espadrille or sandal for the heat and for sub-zero days of winter, a good chukka or duck boot
Thank you Audrey. I love all the combinations you show. Very inspiring!
Hello 👋 Debbie Donlon, how's your day going, hope everything is going blessed and great day for you?
Can‘t wait for fall! 🧡
Thank you for this video! Just planning new season shoes renewal shop list! ❤️
Thank you for that essential list ! Loved hearing about the thinking process behind each choice you’ve made. My own journey has been similar, one exception being the loafers are replaced by ballerinas 😉 (but I did bring loafers back into the mix last year as practical ‘chunky’ shoes and love them).
Love this video Audrey! Thank you for this content!!
Loved this video! I’m not a loafer person, but after watching this I’ll check them out. Thank you for sharing this!
There are nice ones with low heels. If you want flat ones, TJ Maxx has a bunch of Italian ones on their Web site.
Love the outfit in this video, especially the shirt styling & belt 👍 Thanks for explaining each style of shoe & what it can do for an individual. I've felt the same way about "sneakers" - perhaps too juvenile, but recently found some I don't mind. Thanks Audrey
Hello 👋 Siobhan Kerr, how's your day going, hope everything is going blessed and great day for you?
I cannot live without my Converse and ballerina flats and of course my TredSafe work shoes that make everything possible..
Hello 👋 Cathy Bryant, how's your day going, hope everything is going blessed and great day for you?
I've reached a point where comfort outweighs style.🧡What would be your top five comfortable shoes that don't sacrifice style?
Good question!
@@mimishimaineko1173 Clarks is a good brand for both style and comfort. Also boots.
Hi Audrey! !
Love your outfit. Thank you for sharing this great video. Remain blessed xxx
Shoes overwhelm me and I have no idea how to figure out what goes with what. I have a friend who LOVES shoes, so I'm going to take a photo of the very few pants I own, the very few shoes I own, and she'll help me fill in gaps as well as what goes with the non-jeans. This is just so far outside my knowledge and I'm in my 40's! hah
Thank you for sharing with us :)
Hope you can make must have bags version
Hello M Elly, how's your day going, hope everything is going blessed and great day for you?
Brilliant!!
Omg, I’m just hypnotised by your lovely shirt. How is that tucked?
Very calming voice.
I love the idea of this, but would you consider showing the shoes/item to the camera rather than only in farther away outfit shots? It can be hard to see the item well that you are describing and I find it really helpful to see them more up close. Shoes and accessories especially. Thanks for the video, love your vibe!
Sandals are my go-to shoe.
Hello 👋 RankinRocks, how's your day going, hope everything is going blessed and great day for you?
You could talk about the do’s and dont’s of feeding goldfish and I’d be captivated. Your voice is h e a v e n l y xoxo
A new video!!! Great!!!💯🤙🏻
Love your outfit today!
not sure where my comment went - for anyone wanting the Van Eli shoes in the knock-off Chanel colorway, they are sold out at that link, and most everywhere else online. Other colorways are available.
Nice tips Thank you
Love your blouse. It suits you.
Mine are from Amazon :)
this was great but what about your must have sandals?
Thanks for shear with us 👍
I need a sneaker!
Hello ..loving listening to your timeless style ..you must have a close-up on the shoes..could'nt see properly n i love shoes n you 💞💞thanks
I tried loafers and they just didn't work for me. Neither do ballet slippers tbh. Got a nice pair of Vejas for nicer white leather sneakers but I still need to find a good pair of dress shoes that suit me.
espadrilles forever!
Where can I get a bag like the one you have here that has the wrist strap going through a ring. It’s perfect.
Love your top, does the lapel have a slight notch in it?
