I enjoyed watching about the workshop enthusiasts! Like!
Love it! “Should be doing real work but chosen to muck around with old Jags” that’s a life goal right there. Looking forward to seeing you recommission that V12.
Wow that XJS would be double that in the UK.
Fascinating. Looks like a bargain at the price. The interiors seem to last much better in the Aussie climate than they do on old Jags here in the U.K. Couldn't see any splits in the wood, nor peeling lacquer, on the dashboard. Leather also in much better nick than one would expect. Best of luck with further restoration of this beauty. Series IIIs are my favourite Jags, just because of the Pininfarina styling. That low-slung elegance, retaining yet emphasising the width of the haunches and fluted front end, makes for unsurpassed loveliness. All your vids are therapy for Jag lovers. In the days when I had Jags I got two or three from Peter Thurston, racing driver and Jag specialist here in Kent. His Dad was a Jag specialist before him too. What he doesn't know about Jags ain't worth knowing. I can imagine you'd have interesting convos with him. Only thing is, he talks at some length, in fact talks for England. So you'd find you weren't getting any actual work done.......
Thanks wayinfront1 for your positive comments.
@@tjmthejagmandownunder the colour of your S3 is Antelope metallic.
@@ew1977 Thanks James someone else also commented the same
She’s solid as a kid I rememberer being in my friends dads and I remember I couldn’t hear the engine it was so smooth and silent in traffic I loved the series 3 but I love your XJ40 as well I’m 40 I grew up in England with these cars the smell when you got in them that leather and wood you just don’t get that now in a modern equivalent
That’s a really handsome car…. Not quite Gold, not quite Champagne…
I liked the Copper colour of the scrapper Series 3 too.
Thks John
They tell me its Antelope metallic
Another excellent video. 34 degrees here in the UK too - problem it’s Fahrenheit!! I have a 2.7 S Type that has been a good car. I keep on top of any rust so at 14 years old looks and goes well. Would also like an S3 XJ but threat of rust puts me off. Looking forward to the new stories.
Thanks Stewart for the positive comments. Not as hot today max 27 degrees. Thought the gen 2 S types were all alloy?
@@tjmthejagmandownunder Strangely enough I did see that recently. Shame they didn’t tell the car! I knew they rusted after seeing in a local scrap yard one that had the front sills completely gone. Other common issues (not now on my car) include rusted subframes, chassis legs and rear arches. Just remembered, bonnet is aluminium! Stay safe. Stewart.
@@stewartshackleton7825 fortunately we don't suffer much underbody rust over here
The XJ40 did get the V12 later. It was the 6 litre and I always regret not buying a really nice 93 Daimler version in 2005.
My XJC has a 6 litre in her from a 93 xj40. Totally transformed the car, especially with the gm 4 speed.
@@tjmthejagmandownunder Yep. they get off the mark so much better more because of the trans but more torque from the engine too.
Hey mate, how's about putting playlists up for each of the cars so we can enjoy them in proper order. Cheers fella.
Cheers Dave. Now that the videos are building up I'll do that.
Hey mate I have an 87 v12 I bought may last year.. still sitting in the garage waiting for tlc. Still registered, needs cosmetics incl minor rust, complete respray, wood and headlining. But the Jag will have to wait while I finish my 76 honda cb400f. I'll be interested to see how yours progresses.
pick it up on Friday Jeff, me too!
How much did you pay for the V12 ? You didn’t tell us
$3k
